xynerise: Well, that is the essence of courtship before marriage. If I know the kind of person she is, that is, being a kleptomaniac, why would I marry her in the first place or even keep that kind of money where she can see it? Besides, a reasonable wife/girlfriend should ask first from her partner before stealing. For some weird crazy reason it happens. Maybe you didn't know her as well as you thought you did, maybe she only did it out of the house. if it does happen, what will you do that's the question. |
You guys shouldn't get it twisted, his question is really legit. Xynerise, what would you do if you found out that the 200k you kept for some business in your wardrobe wasn't taken by your maid or younger brother who you'd earlier suspected and even accused, but your wife who even knew about the money and it's purpose. Spouses, partners, girlfriend and FWB can be kleptomaniacs. It would be worse though if these people were caught stealing outside rather than inside. |
Is this supposed to be a joke? If it isn't, how in the world was the statistic carried out? |
deols: Who cares?Be wise. Don't ruin your future because of one hasty, not-well-thought-out decision. if you feel that for whatever reason, you can't go with the stipulated uniform, then stay home! |
Sissie: I don't know where u got your information from, but muslims wear and are allowed to wear hijab in camps. the only rules are: it must be white and not too long.Yeah, if the hijab is now too long to a point it hampers movement, the NYSC authorities wouldn't agree to that. How in the world are you going to engage in that kind of physical activities wearing that long skirt! It's simply a no brainer. |
stupor: Its really hard my brother !Sometimes it's preferable to read a thread thoroughly so as to you avoid making a fool of yourself. The mod admitted the typo was her fault. |
@dolemite and blackteeth. See you guys having the ultimate creation vs evolution argument. As some dudes once said to me, who says both evolution and the creation are not one and the same? Who says God wasn't the one that started the big b.a.ng and took his sweet time doing it. The bible said the world was created in 7days, that same bible said God and the heavenly beings do not have concept of time. What could be 1 day to us could be a billion days to them, and what could be 1 day to them could be a billion years to us. The biggest arguments the evolutionists have over the creationist is time and process cells involved to form life in the form of plants and animals, which was billions of years. But in comparison to the creationist story, life started when earth was already prepared, then came the plants, the animals and then man. Just like evolution explained but just with billions of years between each process. Just as blackteeth said, the world and humans in particular are all too brilliant for it to be all just an accident. I so believe in God! |
Ewwwww. This a very irritating sight. Now I want to puke. |
The OP is 100% right. He isn't justifying promiscuity but stating the cold hard facts. It's clear that there is (and would always be) double standards when it pertains to women and sexuality. Those who are quick to label women sluts, do you really know how many men your woman has slept with? Do you know their most intimate thoughts? |
Firstly, get the hell out of that house! After you leave, you have the option of either telling your uncle or not. But I'd rather you didn't. Stuffs like this have a way of burying you deep in palava. He married her, infidelity or not he should carry his cross |
@OP, you refer to him as your 'reading partner' so I'll take the liberty to assume that he's in a midway point btw just an acquaintance and a friend. I'd advice you get to know him more and he should also learn more about you. Make him open up to you more. Make him trust you completely. See him everyday if you can. The day he doesn't see you, he'll realize his fallen heads over heels in love with you. |
Cutie. |
my friend's family dressed up as the flintstones last year Halloween. Aren't they just cute.
|
No fiancé, no spouse. |
Your mum is grand manipulator. Not a bad person, just a pro manipulator. Just like my mum *sighs* |
Now, why does George Orwell's 'The animal farm' come to mind. When the time comes when people of the same race have a sect that believe they are actually better than the others, then we should know we are all doomed. |
Blyss: Humm, if people want to think in such a way, then that's fine. It'll be no more of a colony than any other nation in which receives US federal investment into their economies or military for whatever reason the US gov. sees fit. If the US gov. wants to invest, then that's perfectly fine.what now is the point of it all? You want to be 'independent' from the US, and yet still not be 'independent' from them.* The US is a country of great opportunies too. If you sole purpose of having to start up your own nation is strictly for economic benefits and not for obsessive reasons (of finally feeling like a first rate citizen in your country), wouldn't you just rather remain in your country and struggle like the other minorities? |
@ OP, PM me. I'm in Abuja too. |
What are you all taking about! She does have legal grounds to keep the marriage and should get a lawyer. In nigeria, customary law is the first in line to be admitted in our courts EXCEPT it is repugnant to natural justice, equity and good conscience. Only then can common law and the Nigerian statute come in. For those people who may be finding this confusing, in Nigeria, the traditional marriage is more important than any other. As far as there are witnesses to your person's traditional marriage and there was parental approval, then she's covered. She should get a lawyer. |
Hopefully, my comment would be one of the last posts here. My comment is really not about the poster, but the post itself. Nne dearest, relationships are a work in progress. Okay, you're getting married and you're happy. Great! But don't you think you're really not 'yet' in that position to be trying to help the other 'less fortunate' ladies yet. Everything is still new for you. The relationship isn't even a year old and you've already turned 'madam self help'. Take it down a notch. It isn't over till it's over. For every divorce, spousal abuse and bla bla, there was a proposal, giddy feelings and even love. Life does not end with marriage or meeting the 'one'. This is literally where you have your work cut out for you. Work on your self and your relationship. And when you eventually live your happily ever after many years down the road, till then will you be a ' nairaland relationship expert' |
If the guy has money as you claim and is not so bad looking, the moment a young beautiful woman so much as smiles at him will make him see himself as desirable. This will make him no longer take bullshit from his wife. Since this has never happened, o well. . . I didn't say jazz o! |
Only in nollywood movies will 1 million naria be inside one small envelope. Either that or a big ghana must go bag. (Na 1 naria note full dia?) |
Only in Nigerian movies do they think plaiting 'all back' shaves off 20 years of your age in other to play a teenager. |
Only in Nigerian movies will the father and son be in the same age range. |
My ex is 3 years younger. Strangely as it may seem, he was the only one I ever truly loved. |
When he means Browse, he means sèx DYT. @OP, endure and try to help as much as you can cos you are in it together. If you say it is streeful to you, think of the person carrying the baby
Lol. Like Dyt, I actually thought he meant browse literally. |
^^^she says they'll meet in a neutral country. So it's the two of them making the big gesture of being together. @OP. I really hopes it works. I believe most women have feminine intuition. So look deep and not just in the periphery to determine if he wants you for you or for the papers. |
OP has the makings of a control freak. |
And these women are supposed to be role models to the teens and youths. SMH |
Idowuogbo: Am proud of u!Thanks sweery ![]() |
