KiNg0G: I lived with my father's brother for a long time. he didn't work one day, all he does in the morning was to wash his mouth, have his bath then have his meal, awaiting his wife to come back from her trade in the market.. Then off she went to prepare another meal.. Staying With them was hell for me because sometimes there was hardly food in the house but my uncle hardly cares about that, it is either he is in one joint with his friends on a sunny day or he is at home listening to radio stations. His wife was the provider and never for once did she insult him...
This same character has gotten into me deeply, I can't help myself. I can't do thing's for myself.
My girlfriend cohabiting with me is the one providing almost everything we need all I do is to give her my G-15 in the evening. I'm always at home 24/7. She's never complained, I love it, for me to get a job and be answering Sir sir to people, I can't.
Stay fresh, bath, eat and sleep is the order of the day.
Few women are like this, just the other day she asked me to come pay her bride price before the year ends, I asked her where would I see the money... baby girl told me not worry that something huge is coming..
I love this freedom, but sometimes I get a mixed feelings of been a liability, ants feeding on sugars. Anyway I'm enjoying myself quite well.
The real thing is my masculinity as the head of the house still intact. You are under a generational curse for your information..you think you are enjoying lazy he goat. You are not even ashamed, you are proud that a woman is feeding your lazy ass. |

seborrhic: Inasmuch as the police have done a marvelous job arresting the corrupt police officers,I find the lady's story to be emblemished to possibly justify why she patted with ₦320k. That Nigerian policemen,as corrupt as they are, would intimidate and extort a Nigerian LADY with a mere accusation of possession of weed,I find extremely difficult to believe and don't believe. Nigerian policemen are quite circumspect of even extorting ladies with proven, serious criminal acts, talkless of mere accusation of weed. Even a man found in possession of weed, not even mere accusation or planted, would hardly part with that huge sum There is more to this story the lady is not saying,I can bet anything. There is nothing more to this story, this story is very true,it's because you have not encounter some corrupt and evil Nigeria policemen that's why you are saying such. I can guarantee you that they planted the weed in her bag to set her up. My advice is this, when you give police your bag to search, make sure you are vigilant else they will plant incriminating evidence on you and if you deny they will say you are calling them liars, have seen this first-hand so I know what am saying. |
Career › Re: My Job Is Ruining My Family by Anakazo22: 6:47pm On Jun 21, 2022 |
elimsun: Good day great people of nairaland. I'll make this as short as possible and forgive my typo errors. I've been working in this construction firm for the past five years together with taking care of my family and my girlfriend who has been in school but due to ASUU strike, now at home. I'm usually busy and spend less time at home except on weekends - Sundays. Recently, my girlfriend has been talking me into changing the nature of my work to another job that will afford me the opportunity to give more time to my family and her. I insisted that I'll need more time to be able to find another job but she will not have it that way. Seems to spoke to my mother about it and it's now hell in the home with my mother threatening she will kill herself if I don't quit the job. This job is something I have used in completing my house and paying the fees of my girlfriend. Lest I forget, I got the hint that my manager is considering me for a promotion and my quitting the job might just spell doom on me!
I'll appreciate all your suggestions, advice and criticism. I'm really in a fix! I think your girlfriend is jobless and lazy that's the main issue here, there are students who have taken advantage of this ASUU strike by learning a skill or getting a job. How can she be pressuring you to quit your job because she wants you to spend more time with her, though it's important to create more time for her and your family which is important but the way she is going about it is totally wrong. We all know that getting a good job in Nigeria is not easy, so it's better you have a better alternative in the future and setting up a business is not a bad idea but bro don't go and quit because of one silly girl else you will regret your actions in no distant time. |

osato45: have a talk with your kids and let them understand why things are the way they are.
In terms of sharing, you can get a second mattress or foam possibly 2 by 6 type and place in the room where the kids are to stay, let the eldest occupy the bigger foam and the youngest takes the smaller foam which would be placed on the floor
Or better still get a wooden bunk bed of 3 by 6 that would make one person stay up and the other stay down I think this is the best solution for now for the both of them. I don't buy the idea of you and your son taking one room and your wife and daughter sharing the other, it's totally wrong. A man and his wife should always sleep together and have time for each other. |

Jesus was invited to participate in politics by the overall master in politics, but there's one thing he demanded from Jesus {Luke 4:6-7} do you notice what Satan (the ruler of the world) asked in return? John 14:30; 1John 5:19 Well the Bible is not just a story book Sir, it's meant to enlighten us about sacred secrets of things that befell unwise people in ancient times! 1Corinthians 10:6, 11 Whoever participate in politics anywhere on this planet is serving Satan, that's why Jesus said he came to expose all the secret of the devil for his own disciples, politicians themselves often confess that politics is a dirty game which means it's not meant for sheep but goats. So it's not for Jesus' disciples to participate in the works of the devil: POLITICS! You are not serious at all, you are just confusing people by taking scriptures out of context. Daniel was a politician and served as a senator under four different King in Babylon and he was not corrupt.. take note that Babylon was very corrupt but Daniel was faithful and blameless. Politics is not meant for some certain people, infact God expect christains who by destiny are called to politics to go there and change it for good and not leave it in the hands of these evil and corrupt men. This is where the church has been missing it for a long time, they think involving in politics is a sin and worldly. How can you change a system if you don't get involved. |

If you owe, you pay up. No one cares if you have to sleep under the bridge to raise the money. Business isn't run with emotions.
Lastly, a landlord doesn't need a reason to give you a quit notice. If a landlord doesn't like you, he can give you quit notice, if you like take it to any court available in this country, you won't win. Go and build your house and maintain your useless self entitlement. I think you are the most uncivil person not me, in a sane country no landlord just wake up and evict a tenant because he doesn't like the tenant, and besides if you are evicting someone the court order is to give such person six months to look for somewhere. Am that kind of person that always caution myself and watch the kind of music I listen at home, but she did not learn the word at home, am sure she might have heard it somewhere in her mom shop, because my wife shop is located somewhere very rough, a lot of children in the environment. But my wife does not see this as a big deal. She always told me that she can't stop the little girl from playing with other children in the hood and that's true. That day when I heard her say that word, I called her to myself and told her not to say the word again that it's not good saying such word, she nodded in approval.
Two days ago I heard her saying this common words "Eni pe". I felt really bad, because I don't want my daughter to learn those bad words, but my wife feel am overreacting.
Am I overreacting truly? How do I stop my daughter from saying such words?
Please help a friend You are not overreacting, the earlier you correct her the better, if it means dissociating from those friends from influencing her you better do it fast. Children pick things very fast so be wise, you are the father. |

You are talking about in developed countries things like these can't happen,of course because mechanisms have been put in place to ensure you pay your rent. Have you ever heard someone owed rent and wasn't evicted in the so called developed countries you talk about? Countries that ensure that you pay all your bills or get cut off the services. Mind you the guy has never failed to pay once his rent expires, he has never owe the landlady in question more than a month, even in develope country they give tenant some little time to pay their rent, it's everywhere not only in Nigeria. From the OP statement we can clearly see that the landlady is just being wicked and oppressive that's all I see. |

Mooh247:

Over entitlement mentality on someone else property
You have 12 whole month to look for your next year rent and you claim you don't have it as at expiration of your rent
You felt too busy to attend meetings in the house you reside, meeting regarding welfare of the house which is part of your core responsibility as a tenant
Your fiancee had a quarel with the owner of the property
You cursed the caretaker of the property
You better start looking for a new place because highest you can get is 3 month from the reciept of the first notice
. Na God go punish you for this rubbish when you type since you don't know how to read, if you have nothing meaningful to say just shut up, what do you mean by entitlement mentality, so as a tenant you expect him to be licking her landlady shoes abi, you think in a sane country where the law is working fine this kind of landlady can't get away with this, it's because we are in Nigeria a corrupt country that's why you think a landlord will just wake up one morning and served quit notice. If I may ask, what kind of meeting are they holding. I think people like you are part of the reason Nigeria is this bad and lawless |

janejjjjj5000: Please, I don't want to be judged. My husband is a good man. We have been married for 14 years. I am 33 years old. He is 39 years old. We have 4 kids - 3 girls and 1 boy. He has never cheated on me. Right from day 1, he has been very open. He is not the type of husband that locks phone and all of that. But I am tired. He has the habit of flaring up around the children and I don't like it. I don't want my kids to be damaged. I know some will say no marriage is perfect but at this point, I don't even want marriage again. I just want to be free and single and look after my kids. I am tired.
Anytime we have an argument, he always talks about how he did this and that for me. In front of the children. I don't want this kind of life. He hardly gets angry, maybe twice or thrice in a year but when he does, he does not have the sense to know he should not be doing it in front of the kids. He apologizes to them and to me but I am done.
He has no other issue apart from this. He has never beaten me or anything but I am tired. Overall he is a good husband to be fair and honest but I can no longer deal with this. I prefer to be single and free than deal with this rubbish.
I feel like pouring out my heart. I think there is something you are not telling us, probably you are eyeing someone else because if this is just his issue as you stated here, I think you are the problem not him, besides you sound as if you have never offended him for once. |

Easyincome24: This book right here made our childhood days awesome.
Teachers then ensured we commit it to memory even if one couldn't pronounce or identify each word for word.
As I try to reminisce about this book. I could aptly see how our culture was portrayed in the book usually a one in a million for primary three pupils.
Our education standard was still something to reckon with back then.
Try to read between the lines, you will understand that a family is a unit that is very important in a community.
If a home fails to bring up their children uprightly, it's sure that the society will be wrecked.
Try to revisit all these books used way back in the 80's and 90's you will understand why values should be taught from homes before expecting teachers and government to emulate same.
My love for this book and the characters knows no bounds.
Share your experience Nairalanders. Wow, this book was too notch, can't forget |

I am not against her religion whatsoever, even she reads the Quran quietly in the shop and there's no issue about that.
