With due respect to FBS, Mr Uweh posted a similar or same post yesterday. No need for repetitions. However, this is a great post. At the moment, there are no legends at the eagles camp. |

Nigeria's attacking problems is not Amodu's creation. I think we no longer have legends in super eagles. |
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/01/14/even-best-strikers-in-the-world-%e2%80%98ll-struggle-in-amodu%e2%80%99s-team-yakubu/ Sports Jan 14, 2010 Everton striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni has lashed out at critics who have questioned his place in the Nigerian team at the Africa Cup of Nations. Yakubu rounded on his detractors after Nigeria’s 3-1 opening defeat to Egypt, insisting that the entire team did not play well in Tuesday’s Group C opener. “I have always given my best to Nigeria, I am one of the best strikers in the country and my record is there for all to see,” said Yakubu, who was sidelined for most of last year with an achilles tendon injury. “But when you have four, five defensive midfielders in the team who can’t get the ball over to the strikers, what can you do? We do not have a (Austin) ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha or a Sunday Oliseh. “We have been struggling in most of our games because we do not have a creative midfielder, which is not the case, for instance, at my club, where there are players who can create openings for the strikers. “It has been really very difficult for us and even the best strikers in the world would struggle in such a team.” There have been suggestions that he is higher on the pecking order of other strikers as a result of his closeness to coach Shaibu Amodu. “We all want to play coach and so everyone wants to pick the team,” he countered. “But it is there for everybody to see that I have also enjoyed a good run with the coaches before Amodu simply because I’m good enough to be in the team.” The Everton forward said despite the team’s shortcomings he was confident the Eagles will now put behind them the 3-1 reversal they suffered at the hands of the defending champions by beating Benin this weekend. “Obviously, we were all very disappointed to have lost that game.“We started well in the first 25, 30 minutes, but as soon as they drew level, we failed to defend well and eventually lost to a better team. “We now have to focus on the next game, go out there and give our best to beat Benin.” Tuesday’s loss has also placed a question mark over Amodu’s future and an early Nations cup exit could see him being replaced in time for the World Cup |

At this time of great loss, as a result of earthquake in Haiti, it is essential that all the states and local councils in Igboland and states of the old eastern region come to the aid of Haiti. Haiti showed a lot of support and solidarity to Ndigbo and the East during the Nigerian crisis. One good turn deserves the other. http://www./biafra_recognised_by_Haiti.htm |
POSTER: It seems you are a copycat. Do you not know that this sort of thread is in existence here. |
It is a reminder of Daman Saudi Arabia 1989. |

Nairalanders, is mr Ekoku right for calling African nations cup to be played every 4 years?. |
Ekoku: Cup should be every four years By Ally McKay African players would back a plan for the Nations Cup to move to a four-year cycle rather than the current two-year arrangement, says former Nigeria, Wimbledon and Norwich striker Efan Ekoku. The tournament causes biennial consternation for European clubs as the cream of African talent disappears in January, but Ekoku, who was in Nigeria's squad for the 1994 Nations Cup in Tunisia, says the players have sympathy for their clubs. He believes Fifa and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) must step in to change the frequency of the tournament. "I can understand the point of view of clubs. It would be better to have the tournament on a four-year cycle," he said. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/internationals/ekoku-cup-should-be-every-four-years-1862323.html |

During his election campaign tours in Kwara, Yoruba becomes the means to reach out to Kwarans, but shortly after that, he puts on his non-Yoruba clothes. To settle this puzzle at one go: Is he a member of the Afenifere or Afenifere renewal group?. Is he a member of The Arewa consultative group or Northern Peoples Union?. His affiliation here tells us whom he chooses to be. |

Some good thinking from Sat Guru, but I am not in support of arresting staffs for interrogation on the whereabouts of our president. |
Yar’Adua : Guru Maharaj ji wants Senate President to effect constitution 03 January, 2010 04:48:00 TITUS ELWEKE Font size: The Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj ji has called on the Senate president, Senator David Mark to use his office to effect necessary change to have a functional government in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He also called on the Inspector General of Police to arrest all the Aso Rock staff, chief security officer to the president, the transport fleet and those staff in the presidential jet, so that they can be interrogated to tell Nigerians the where abouts of their President and his health. The statements were copied to the Vice president Jonathan Goodluck, Speaker ,Federal House of Representative ,the Attorney General of the Federation ,President Nigeria Bar Association ,Committee for Defence of Human Rights, Independent Corrupt Practice Commission, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Commissioner of Police Abuja and media houses These were contained in a separate statement addressed to Senate president, senator David Mark and the Inspector General of Police Mr. Ogbonna Onovo ,which he personally signed and made to Sunday Champion. The statement noted that One Love family has obsevered that President Yar’Adua has been away from his office for over 30 days, stressing that the unfortunate absence has created unnecessary and dangerous vacuum, for the continuous functioning of that office. The statement read in part ‘it has become mandatory ,therefore ,that Your Excellence should use your good office to effect the necessary change needed to be put in place .We are not asking your excellence to take a step that is contrary to the country ‘s constitutional arrangement. But, if the vacuum so created is going to affect the smooth running of the affairs of the state, there is nothing wrong in seeking consultation with the Speaker of House of Representative ,Attorney General of Federation and the Vice President to find effective solution of the political Impasse, even if it requires joint resolution of both Houses to normalize this absurdity’ ‘Already, there are cracks and delay in the operations of the office of the president that calls for urgent and prompt action on the matter.’ ‘Much as we wish Mr. President back hale and hearty at the helms of the affairs quickly, it must be pointed that the nation is far bigger than any individual. The nation must refused to be held to ransom .It is therefore of paramount importance that the business of the nation are not allowed to suffer through the absence of the incumbent president who failed abysmally to hand over to his vice before taking vacation to take care of his health’ ‘The mistake has been made, nonetheless ,It is my duty as chief security officer of the world to call us to order so that the ship of the state may not flounder. This is mandatory and urgent ,especially ,when there is no fix time to expect the president back to assume the responsibility of his office .Posterity will not forgive us if we allow that mistake to affect us adversely’. http://www.champion.com.ng/index.php?news=25033 |

Choco5:There is no need to insult the poster here. He has not insulted any body here so far neither has he insulted anybody since this year. Respect please. Back to the post, the Hausas and the Fulanis have so much mixed up that you rarely find pure Hausas and pure fulanis. Apart from the normadic Fulanis you see with cattles in Nigerian roads, and holds no political powers, the rest of the fulani race is interwoven and assimiliated into Hausa ways of life. |
