Those in Edo and Delta states that speak and understand Yoruba are those born or raised in Yorubaland. It is same as Yorubas who speak and understand Hausa. Because they were born or raised in Hausaland. Also, Hausa people born or raised in Igboland understand Igbo. It does not mean they are Ndigbo.

A leopard can not change her spots. IkaIgbo people are Igbo people. You can not change that now. The late Obi of Agbor and the father of the current Obi was very proud of his Igbo heritage and popularised the slang of Ika Igbo. Every document relating to him in the then Western province and Mid-western province identified him as Ika Igbo. He never objected it.
The final word is: Attempt to join any Bini organisation. After that come and tell me their reactions.

Yoruba states are:Oyo, Osun, Ogun, Ekiti.
States where Yoruba and others are found are: Lagos-Yoruba70% and Egun; Ondo-Yoruba80% and Izon; Kwara-Yoruba 50%; Kogi-Yoruba 15%.
Since the fall of Oyo empire about 300 years ago, The Yorubas have not be annexing territories. It will be destructive for any person or persons to continue from the where the Old Oyo empire stopped. Hence, do not march towards Delta and Edo states, they are NO-GO-AREAS.
