so, he's a white man who adopted igbo culture.

nothing unusual about that.

is his wife white also?
Wife is Igbo but his Igboness predates Igbo bride. Wife never thought him Igbo language nor the Igbo culture he adores.

Mazi Anayo might not have been born as Igbo but he is now Igbo to the core. What do you call a man who speaks fluent Igbo, his wife speaks Igbo, his children speak Igbo and bear Igbo names?.
His friends are Igbo, his diet is Igbo, sings Igbo songs and practices all aspects of Igbo culture and holds a key post in an Igbo organisation.

@Wesley80, it is interesting to note that you say Alishi instead or Arushi. In some other places in Igboland, it is called Alusi or alushi.
I think it will be nice for some of you guys paritcipate in those threads about various Igbo dialects or various Igbo greetings. It really helps one another.
CultureRe: Why Do Ikwerre Igbos Reject Their Igbo Identity? by AndreUweh(m): 1:48pm On Jun 24, 2012
chixomx2: Just because, some people hav similar cultures n languages doesn't make dem dsame. Brasil n portugal speak almost dsame language, n hav similar cultures but hell they aint even in dsame continent. I'm an FBI(full blooded ikwerre), n I'm NOT an igbo guy. So plz let's end dis silly arguments, cos wise people knw say if no b panadol e no fit b like panadol.
Sometimes non Ikwerres who are anti-Igbo come here claiming to be Ikwerre.
You hardly see any Ikwerre telling us that he is not Igbo. For how long must we wait for any Ikwerre to prove to us that he is not Igbo. Anyway, forever shut up or show that you are not Igbo.
CultureRe: What Are The Things You Like About Other Ethnic Groups And Tribes? by AndreUweh(m): 1:36pm On Jun 24, 2012
sarutobie: First am ibo,but despite the trends of ongoing ethnic bashings here on nairalnad and the country, there are certain things I really like about some ehtnic group/tribes.Some of which are..
1.YORUBA LANGUAGE-i find the yoruba language appealing(especially when they sing in their language).Had a friend who taught me some words until he graduated from school
2.CALABAR CUISINES-when I represented my school(FUTO) in the pre-nuga games(chess) in calabar,I experienced for myself the wonder that is calabar dishes.delicios, cheap and their environmnt is clean too
3.ACCOMODATING NATURE OF THE TIVS
..These are some of the positive qualities which our country is endowed with.Nairaland peeps share what you like about other tribes..
Upon all your years in Owerri (FUTO), you never knew that Ibo is incorrect. What a shame to some Igbo recent graduates.
CultureRe: What Are The Things You Like About Other Ethnic Groups And Tribes? by AndreUweh(m): 1:33pm On Jun 24, 2012
michelin89: Choose from the list:
The chap who composed the above list does not know about Nigerias ethnic groups. Take a look at Delta state. Which ethnic group is Enuani, Ndokwa or Ika.
Ndokwa is just a local council in Delta state and they speak a variant of Igbo dialect called Ukwuani. The same Enuani is Igbo which he listed. Ika is also Igbo. In Abia state, there is no Ibibio language or ethnic group. This madness really has to stop.
In Rivers state, the fool did not list Igbo as a language yet half of the population speaks Igbo.
That list should be thrown into a waste bin.

AlwaysonTime: Please to my ibgo ppl out there can someone explain the concept of oriaku?
you mean Igbo.
CultureRe: Ndokwa People Of Delta: Interestd In Finding Out More of ur Background & Culture by AndreUweh(m): 6:43pm On Jun 23, 2012
@Dronel, you can know where Ndokwa is located on the map here. Look at the south west of the map, KWALE is the exact location of Ndokwa.
Just as there are many dialects in Igboland, Ndokwaland has its own unique dialect called Ukwuani.
