i don't see how are they being productive by speaking at the comfort of their homes these people are making the most noise like they have real solutions, why don't they go to borno and speak? let me guess, these govenors don't have the audicity or maybe they'll be too scared (they have a history of adding fear to the people there, with the buses they sent one would think its a all war situation) but they want to add ther cents. they can't even tackle ritualists in ther region and are adding their solutions far from the problem, maybe they can just do us all a favour and shot up
Spit out that rotten gworo you are chewing. What is wrong with what they have done. They are concerned about lives and properties. You always want to comment on anything that deals with Ndigbo in a negative way. If governors from another region had done a similar thing, you will not comment about it. Why are people so bigoted here?.

That is very true. But T.A. Orji to his credit did evacuate Abians as well.
Now you see why Ndigbo are very special. While people from Ekiti, Kwara etc required state or fed govt interventions, Ndigbo through their town unions have transported their people home already.
Now, you see why each morning I wake from my sleep, the first thing I do is to kneel down and thank God for making me Igbo.
PoliticsRe: S-east Govs Task Northern Leaders by AndreUweh(m): 3:44pm On Jul 18, 2011
Ndigbo have always believed in Onye aghala Nwanne ya. As a result, Ndigbo have numerous town unions in Borno state and this town unions have played a great role in the evacuation of her people in this troubled region. Ndigbo do not need fed or state govts to come to their rescue. May God continue to bless Ndigbo worldwide.

CultureRe: Between Igbo And Hausa Which Is Easier To Learn? by AndreUweh(m): 10:04pm On Jul 14, 2011
odumchi:
@ Original Poster That is where you are wrong.

1. Igbo has two forms. The first form is central Igbo while the second form is a much more complex and unique form of Igbo, the dialect.
The Average Igboman can say whatever he wants in both forms of Igbo. I am not sure if this is the case for Hausa. An example of this is:

Central Igbo: Anyi na yo Chukwu ayiyo
My Own Dialect Dialect Igbo: An' na ro Chukwu aririo

Despite the different words, they both share the same meaning "We beg God". Igbo like Andreh Uweh said is far beyond the literal. Some expressions such as "suffering" have dual meanings which can only be understood by someone who is proficient in Igbo. For example:

"ita avuvu" Literal meaning: Eating a bitter or repulsive thing. Metaphorical: Suffering.

So thats Igbo for you. Igbo is a rich word that has a word for everything and a way to express every possible idea. If you go to the cities you will meet people who dilute Igbo with English, but go to the villages and you will meet people who speak pure and unadultered Igbo. I am not saying that there arenot perfect Igbo speakers in the cities but if you want to know the true version of Igbo, you must find the genesis. So in short, yes Igbo is still as pure as any language despite what people may say.
May your days be long, nwannem.

You are slam on the money my brothers, as long as I know, Ndigbo's currency before Nigeria was the cowries or direct barter. Until of late most Igbo communities still use the cowries during bride price negociation symbolically andd then each cowrie will represent a certain amount in modern currency.

I don't know if some still do it today.
Yea, we are saying the same thing. Ego kirikiri.
PoliticsRe: What Currency Was In Use In Pre-nigeria? by AndreUweh(m): 9:50pm On Jul 14, 2011
In Igboland and Eastern part of the Niger River, cowrie shells were used as a medium of exchage. There were times when currency were not required but by barter.
