This same Ajumobi that has castigated Akala for draining the state pulse. Now, where has this money come from?. He is also finding it uneasy to pay workers the required minimum wage. This Governor is not serious at all. Anyway, politicians are not the only ones to be honoured, there are other men that excelled in that state or Yorubaland in different fields. Monuments or anything can be built for their evergreen memories. In sports, Muda Lawal, Felix Owolabi, Segun Odegbami, Best Ogedengbe, Mutiu Adepoju, Dimeji Lawal, Chris Nwosu, Bella Momo etc. They deserve their own statutes. In music, Sunny Ade, E. Obey, Orland Owoh, Kollington Ayinla etc. Hubert Ogunde, Baba Sala (Olaiya) etc in arts are not yet honoured. |

@The Poster, Igbo language is so rich that there are two concepts involved in your question. The are to learn Igbo and secondly, to understand Igbo language. Learning Igbo language may not be that though like other Nigerian languages but it is in understanding it is the in thing. For example, an Igbo may say ''M ga ezi gi eluigwe''. Only an Igbo person or someone who is well grounded in the language will understand what that means. That is the nature of Igbo language. A non Igbo who is learning Igbo will interprete it as 'I will show you the sky''. But if you are an Igbo, it is not what that means. |
exotik:and an Ijebu man speaks Ijebu language. In your logic, Ijebu is not Yoruba. Boy, give up and stop displaying further stupidity in this thread. |

exotik:You are a no brainer at all. An Igboman in this forum is known as Gen-Buhari. Yet he is not Hausa/fulani nor a military man. Your argument is baseless. |
And also this

This threead belongs to sports section. However, congrats to Rivers state and congrats to Igbo athletes whom contributed 80% of the medals won by Rivers state. |
Ibime:Nna biko nwayo nwayo. Essien's parents are the one to say if their son is a cheat. However, they have not said that. What do you expect Emenalo to say?, biko hapu ya aka. Do you want him to go and tell the world that Essien is a cheat, yet he has no evidence that will support his claim. Ibime, biko biko biko. |
To Abagworo, Your response is the only one with some element of interest, those other dudes are wasting their time. Chinenye, please teach those young bloods how to talk to people. So Abagworo, you say Ife and Lagos belong to Binis. Did you actually say that or was that my imagination? I can't believe your propaganda went that far. Bini royalty is a spin off of Ife, as much Lagos royalty is a spin off of Bini. Ife/Bini/lagos, all one family. When you talk about the lands, that's a different story! Ife - Yorubaland Bini - Edoland Lagos - Aworiland All three are Yorubanation! Bini Kings are buried in Ife, Lagos Kings are buried in Bini. We live and cohabit in peace. If Bini say they no longer are part of the Yoruba brotherhood we say bye bye and goodluck to them. We do not force and rewrite their history to make them submit to our will. But we are tied together not just in poolitis and culture but also in blood. The Bini King, Omo N' Oba was innocent in his missed assessment of the brotherhood between his palace and the Ooni palace. The Staff of Oranmiyan, the Imperial authority of the Yoruba cradle is in Ife, not Bini. So we understand and we accomodate. In its past there had been confusion about whether Oba of Lagos is a descendant of Oba of Bini. The doubters were shown the proof and the issue was resolved. We in the West may compete but we are never confused about the who, where, what, when, how of the dynamics of our bonds and allegiance. There is no land grab and there is no minority, we are Yorubas a race with majestic past and a more meaningful future. All are welcome in our nation who desire to belong and be proud! Stop the land grab! You cannot force Anioma State into existence by coercion and intimidation of people who have clearly told you they speak Igbos or their towns border into Igbos but they are not natives and do not share ancestry with Igbos.
For once you hardly find any Igbo accusing Yorubas of land grab in Kwara and parts of Kogi state. All the time, it is school drop-outs from Yoruba angle who chat rubbish about land grab. This stupidity is getting too much day by day. When Aniomas here chat about their Igbo heritage you will not see it, but when one efulefu from there disclaims Igbo, then you will come out of your dungeon to yawn nonsense. Anyway, at the moment, the number one Igbo citizen is an Anioma man-Amb Ralph Uwaechue. Its a pity as it is shameful that you have not heard of him yet. |
@Afrodiva, most of the crap you have been chatting here are laughable. So by comparing some similarities between Ekpeye/Ikwerre and Okrika means that the former are not Igbo. Shame to you. In another thread, Omonuan from Anioma compiled almost a page of similarities between Bini and Igbo. But he never used that as a case to claim that his Igbo area is not Igbo but Bini. Keep deceiving yourself. |
It was at World Igbo congress in London in 1998 that the speaker of the day an Ikwere son-Wanodi Okugbule pleaded to the entire world that Ikwerre is Igbo. I still have a full text of his speech till date. During my traditional marriage ceremony in Ikwerreland, there was nothing to teach anyone that Ikwerres were not Igbo. Infact, the opening prayer and blessing of kolanut were done in Igbo. The closing prayers were in Igbo language. The M.C of the day-an Ikwerre son addressed the audience in Igbo throught the day. The same way my sisters were giving palm wine to go round and find their husbands on their trad.wedding days was also what we witnessed in Ikwerreland. It is an outright stupidity for some dimwits here to claim that Ikwerre people are not Igbo. What a shame. |
Is Lagos no man's land or all mans land?. |
@Jarus, thanks for bringing up this issue. I welcome your ideas, but something has to be done in relation to Becomerich's posts and threads. The entire nation is watching. |
@Physics. Ali, ana or ala or mean the same thing in Igbo language. In Anambra and Oshimiri/Anaocha in Delta state, they use ana for land. In parts of Ika/Ukwuani and Rivers Igbo, they use Ali while in Imo/Abia, land is Ala. Oza nagogo people do not wish to move out of Anioma to elsewhere unlike in Igbanke, a people that for ages resisted their inclusion in Edo state. They are IkaIgbo and has always demanded to join their kins in Anioma. |
Ndi Isinweke-Etiti (Ihitte/Uboma/Obowu) unu anwunno. Ndi Imo state, Unu anwuchulee oo!. Ejikwam Oherea na ekele Mazi Benjy Uwajumogu-onye ndi Imo statii roputara ka o jere ha ozi na ulo okaiwu (Speaker Imo state house of assembly). Anwunno. |
igbo boy:Your interest in learning Igbo language is welcomed. There are so many internet sites that has Igbo lessons e.g UwandiIgbo: http://www.uwandiigbo.com/index.html. You may buy some Igbo textbooks when you visit Nigeria or you can send some money to your relatives to buy them and send it across. One of the numerous books you can buy include: Ndezu Utoasusu Igbo by Ofomata. C. (2004), Enugu. |
