Our was SA beaten, just over 200 SA solders fought between 1000 and 3000 rebels for 3 days suvering 13 dead and 27 wounded. But killed 500 rebels and held there ground. The rebels raised the white flag not the south africans.

Those SA solders had no air or ground support, where out numberd and out gunded yet where able to fight the rebels to a draw. It not our fault that the regional peace keepers ran away and that CAR own army either ran away or joinded the rebels. You are a fool.

You can't hit simmons town with any of your missils from a great distance. You need to enter the bay. And the 76mm battries around siommons town can hit any thing in the bay.

In Naija, only Lagos state taxes the informal sector. And even at that, not every one still pays taxes. So all other people in the informal sector in the other 35 states and the federal capital Abuja making 36, do not pay tax.

As for Naija's budget, you have to understand that the budget concerns only the employees of the govt. MOST nigerians are not employees of the govt. We are farmers/enterpreneurs. The only thing we get from the budget is the is the subsidy regime which has been slashed by 40percent. So the national budget doesnt affect majority of our citizens.

Budget is not just for paying people money. It used to repair national roads, conduct infustructer development, RnD, extra.

SA may not be a fedral country but each provinse has there own budget has well and each major city or city area.

The article clearly corresponds with what I had earlier said. The defence headquarters in pretoria should take the blame for the death of the 13 soldiers. They showed a basic lack of understanding of the situation on ground in CAR. There carelessness led to the death of 13 soldiers and same for the 28 wounded. The figures are way to high.

If they had air support and 50 calibre's providing suppressing fire the numbers of the dead would have been significantly lower. A 12.7mm HMG would have done the soldiers a whole lot of good.

Like I said before, same as the expert in the article, south africa needed least a battalion of troops.

Going forward, south africa should send at the very least a battalion of troops into CAR, including a mechanised company. MRAPs, IFV's, ILV's, casspir , and two roovialk helicopters. armed with 12.7mmHMG and up to 50 cals.

This is similar to what nigeria sent to mali, we have well above a battalion in mali, including 350 airforce paratroopers

MRAPS armed with both 12.7mm's and 50 cal's( GPMG's are carried by troops, not even mounted on APC's). We also have sagei, same as the french in mali.

For air cover we got 2 MI-35p's and 1 MI-24 hind. 2 alpha jets. This is enough fire power.

Moveing and supporting ratal over that distance thrue air supply is not feesbel. And there is no need for them in any case. The seleka is not that strong.




Nigeria had a support and a short distance for the malil op. You could truck in supplys if need be. We have access to one airport. Or we must cross from the DRC over the river. Neith way will allow mechnisid units to be brought in. So Mamba(or rushed RG35s) and casspers along with oryx and rooivalk. And 120mm long rang motars for fire support. Our 120s have great range and could cover the city from the airport.
