Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by andrewza: 7:15pm On Apr 05, 2012
I have dyslexia so my spelling grammar are incredibly poor. Spell check only helps with words not sentence structure.

How is the points i mentioned unsubstantiated or unverifiable.

Black south african where prevent from succeeding in any way up to 1994. They have in a short time done a lot. MTN is a example it is now a black run company and is growing fast across africa. South Africa now has a stronger faster growing economy than during whit rule.

English is oven a second or third language in south africa.

If we are pathetic what dose that make Nigeria?
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by andrewza: 6:37pm On Apr 05, 2012
onila: grin so u agree yr women r ashawos
You have just shown us all the superior south african education and ingenuity at work.

You south africans are a giant joke, especially the black ones, but you do not realise it unfortunately.
How are we a joke?

Strongest economy in africa that is stable and growing.

17 largest stock exchange in the world.

South african company's and a world wide reach and are listed on over seas stock exchanges.

Working infrastructure that is being improved all the time.

We in the process of implementing free health care.

We survived a civil war and have come out has one nation. Though there is no love between whits and blacks, we can still work together.

This is a few things we can be proud about. Should I list more.

onila: southern African women especially south Africa and botswana are more opened about their sexuality compared to other African women
most of your women are whor-es! lipsrsealed
I agree. That why it is nothing to boast about when you sleep with one.
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by andrewza: 6:09pm On Apr 05, 2012
yd849ja: Tell me why a South African would feel a Nigerian is arrogant? On what premise?
You think you population is something to be proud about. But we(south african middle class) see it has poor education and stupidity

You think you smarter than every body els. But what have you developed for any body els.

You talk about how you steal our women. But those women are sluts only after the sex and poor choices for a wife. They would have a pooor lobolo

You talk about your super economy. But it is based on one resource(crud oil) that you need out side help to extracted.
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by andrewza: 3:11pm On Apr 05, 2012
Nigeria is better than Zimbabwe. There is a massive health problem there and food is incredibly expensive. Most of there great infrastructure was from the old days.

My money is on the goat. Look at its eyes. It is the eyes of a killer.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:47am On Apr 05, 2012
We only spend 1.2% to 1.6% of the GDP on defense. So the government is under funding the SANDF since the international average is 2% of the GDP. And if you consider the amount of solders deployed over seas, we have more force over seas now than we ever had in Angola during the war there. So it not like these things just sit around wasting tax payer money.

There is a saying. "If you want peace prepare for war"
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 10:31pm On Apr 04, 2012
Not trying to be rude only pointing out. The project info is out of date. Some have been cancelled others increased. Example

The Airbuse A400m deal was cancelled. this was due to cost over runs and constant delays in the development of the Aircraft.

Project Biro is budgeted for 6 IPV armed with a 35mm gun and 3 OPV armed with 76mm gun and helicopter operation facilities. But it is under review to increase the numbers due to the Piracy risk.

But it gets the point across.
PoliticsRe: Why Are Britain The Colonial Enclave And Not Argentina When It Comes To The Falk by andrewza: 10:58am On Apr 04, 2012
The falklands want to be under english rule. And thanks to the war they will never want Argentina to govern them. Argentina should know they have lost.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 9:03am On Apr 04, 2012
True the cost would be high and our current defense budget would not cover it. We would need money from the emergency fund and from the AU. But has I said South Africa would never support a action like that unless we where forced by the rest of Africa.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 6:51am On Apr 04, 2012
though there is no love between America and South Africa, there is no hate. And many NATO nations are close friends. We train with America and other NATO nations so has to bench mark ourselves. War with them is bot on our minds. America has more Subs than we have ships boats any thing that floats. 1 aircraft carrier carries more personal than the SA Navy and more aircraft than most african air forces.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 6:39am On Apr 04, 2012
I agree it would be hard. And we could not shut down the water trade 100%. But that is not needed. We only need to

A deal with your navy
B blockade the main port
C provide the ECOWAS/AU navy support

Your biggest source of income is crude oil and those are large ships needing large Harbor and Port facilities. We could do a lot of economic damage buy only blocking one port.

Of course has I said would never happen. South Africa would need every other AU nation to ask(beg) them first.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 10:25pm On Apr 03, 2012
You have no subs. Sorry the only thing I can find on Nigeria and subs is wish list of the navy for subs. You have no Subs if you say other wise post a source.

I am not insulting you I am point out your faults.

There was a common enemy in the xenophobic attacks. That will not be the case in a civil war.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 6:12pm On Apr 03, 2012
I agree SA could not invade Nigeria and I doubt we would try. But we can deploy the navy that far for blockade of the ports. If we can get access to a friendly port nearby for support.

I agree Nigeria is fighting a difficult fight but they could do better. The botched rescue mission is a example.

The AIDS ratio in the defense force is lower due to constant medical checks and greater education on the risks.

To answer the question could ECOWAS(with no out side help) force a military coup leader in Nigeria to step down? NO!
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 1:57am On Apr 03, 2012
I doubt if any african country could defeat and hold Nigeria. To many people. But this has nothing to do with war. More to do with reversing coup. So military action if used would be limited.

I agree SA would stay out of it. No need to get involved. We may send forces to extracted our people but I doubt any real military force eould go. Unless it was a AU mission and I doubt that it would happen.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 1:26am On Apr 03, 2012
gidiMonsta: Nigeria's role in ECOMOG and AU peace keeping force is a proof that she is the top gun in Africa.

Any frigate brought close enough to have an impact on Nigerian soil will be sunk by our fleet of subs, underate d Nigerian Military might at ur own peril. SA's inexperinced military do not stand a chance.

Nigeria is not on d brink of a civil war, yes the situation we find ourselves in presently is daunting but we'll pull just as we always have, that's the spirit of a Nigerian.
You have a large army that dose not mean it is a good army. And your internal military actions show you not to be the top gun in Africa.

You have no subs. Only your flag ship presence a threat and a small one at that.

The amount of tribal hatred on this forum says other wise. Give enough pressure and Nigeria would fold.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 7:23pm On Apr 02, 2012
Nigeria is not the top gun in africa. But that not the point. Both party's are wrong and right here.

The SAAF could fly there if they could use air bases in other country's. And if it is a AU mission this would be the case. But I doubt they would. There would be no need

There is no need to invade you. There is all ready a civil war waiting to happen in Nigeria. And there are 2 terrorist/militia groups in Nigeria. A simple economic strangling and surgical strikes would be enough to force a diplomatic out come. Or the coup leaders can watch has the nation burns in a civil war.

The real big player would be navel forces shutting down the sea trade. ECOWAS combined could not stand up to Nigeria. But there are other AU nations who could do a blockade. South Africa the most likely to pull it off. Could do it with 2 frigates one submarine and one combat support ship plus other AU ships. Since Nigeria makes most of it money from the selling of crude oil from off shore drills it would be devastating for the economy.

But I doubt South Africa would support or take part in any operation in Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 10:09pm On Apr 01, 2012
Mali is a land locked country. So they could cut off all trade. Nigeria has ocean trade and it's navy is contested in the region. It would easily keep the sea lanes open. This of course is if the navy backs the coup.

If the AU was 100% behind it they could shut your trade down and blockade your ports.

But the biggest factor will be how stubborn and determined the coup leaders are and how loyal the troops are to them.

Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 12:04pm On Apr 01, 2012
We train solders from SADC we are deployed in DRC and south sudan. We had solders in buruindy(spelled wrong I know) where we one of the lead forces to bring about a end to the civil war. We are conducting Ant piracy ops on the east coast the only african country to do so. We have train along side major powers.

And both taznain and mozienbiqu(spelled wrong I know) have physically asked for help.

And what dose having or not having a national threat have to do with this. That just means we are stable.

And what other african country builds there own advanced equipment.

I agree most government departments are run poorly but the SANDF is not one of them. Actually when they fail to do there job we step in.
PoliticsRe: South Africa Uses Yellow Fever To Embarrass Nigeria - Shehu Malami by andrewza: 11:45am On Apr 01, 2012
Why do Nigerians hate SA so much and are all ways on about AIDS. AIDS is a global problem and is under control. The number of infections are decreasing and due to treatment you can have a full life even if infected.
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 7:49pm On Mar 30, 2012
I had no need to check those sites. I have seen them before. And using those criteria you are correct. But those criteria do not mean you are good. You can not say if a Defense force is good or bad by numbers of men or equipment. You could through 100 of tanks at us but if they old T55 they would just be suicidal charges. Not to mention due to SA having a proper C4I2R System we can use our forces much more effectively.
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 6:52pm On Mar 30, 2012
Libay has old and out dated equipment. And buy a lot of there stuff from south africa.

You said their level of training. How do you train with a specific equipment when you dont even have it?
What do mean by this?

South africa has many world leading weapon systems. That are at the same level or better than what Europe and America are using. And most of it is built in south africa.

We train along side major powers. Last year there was a major exercise with the USMC and we just had a exercise with the German navy. We have the worlds second largest training ground and have massive training exercises every year to test our readiness.

gaddafe: Is the topic ''which african country's army has the best accomplishment or which african country has the strongest/formidable forces''
In order to really know which army have the strongest forces, they will need to test each other in the battle field.

Global world fire power rates Libya as no1 in africa. CIA fact book states that there are many criteria to judge the strongest army hence look:
In terms of largest soldiers(quantity)-nigeria is no 1 in Africa and no 6 in the world. Now this matters when it comes to a war situation.

In terms of quality and amount of Equipment (that is if u produce them etc)-Libya is no 1 in africa

In terms of soldiers fit for the job (that is using the rigt people for the job not using a 60 yrs old man for a job meant for 27 yrs old) - Nigeria is no 1 in Africa and no 10 in the world.

Infact when i checked the criteria used in judging the strongest soldiers according to Cia books, Nigeria was always ahead other african countries except for equipments and all that. Pls note these are not all the criteria used ooo. I only listed the ones i know people might be interested in this thread.
Non of these factor matter. The most imported factor is level of training for the men. The condition of the equipment used and type of equipment used. In this SA is tops.

Best trained best equipment equals best army.

They are not bad but al shabab are not a real military threat. They are a terrorist organization that is acting like a army they are doomed to fail unless they chang back in to a insurgent force. Technical can not stand up to a proper armed force. And they up to the best in the region.
