Weslataw: For those who undermine Ethiopia, these are some flash to think calmly even if they have no connection with the military.

SA intervention in leshoto came during a time of turmoil for the SADF/SANDF that lasted for some time. And they had restrictive ROE. And we are heavily involved in peace keeping.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 4:47pm On May 07, 2012
Yep time changes every thing. 1945 Canada had the 3rd largest navy in the world. Now SA can put more subs to sea than they can. But there is Tradition and it dose count for something. If all it dose is improve Moral then it done enough. But note I never said Ethiopia was the best in Africa but it is one of the strongest if not the strongest in it's region. It is the closest thing east africa has to a regional supper power.

And yes SA is on top.

Actual it was not just africa that gave Europe it knowledge it was all so the middle east and Asia. But europe took that knowledge and expanded on it. Most likely due to all there wars. Nothing progress your technology like a war.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by andrewza: 9:35am On Apr 28, 2012
Rossikk: Nigeria was a hopeless wasteland populated 93% by illiterate peasants under the British, who did nothing but rob the country blind for 63 years while doing nothing to improve the lives of the people they robbed.

Modern day, independent Nigeria is 1,000 times BETTER than Nigeria under British rule, as the few basic statistics I posted above should show you.

What are our problems today?

High school fees? Under the British there were hardly ANY schools at all.
Traffic jams? Under the British, there were hardly any roads or any cars at all (except for the very rich)
Corruption? Under the British, it was a case of wholesale evacuation of resources without the money even reaching Nigeria, much less being embezzled.
Food prices? Under the British, malnutrition was the order of the day.
Power cuts? Under the British we had NO power grid at all. 92% of the country was not electrified at all, and most Nigerians had no idea what electricity was. The few large generators they imported for their colonial outposts managed just 240 megawatts for the entire country.
Bad roads? Under the British there were virtually NO roads.
I Agree

The colonial powers did nothing for Africa other than rob it and set of boards with out regard for tribal boundaries.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 3:06pm On Apr 25, 2012
Agreed. Ethiopia has a strong history of winning, they where the only nation to stand up to europe and give them a run for there money. My great grand father from my fathers side fought in the Italian in east Africa and mentioned how the locals where better solders than than the Italians. The only reason they lost was due to gas attacks from air craft. And even to day they have a competend milttary and one of the best in the region.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 11:16pm On Apr 20, 2012
They happy and smiling because they think there lives will improve. But in most cases nothing changes.
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:47pm On Apr 19, 2012
The Defender: There is something which you guys do not know. Nigeria millitary is a secret affair, it is not easy to know their full capacity unlike SA. And in the case of boko haram and mend, they are nothing to nigeria army. The problem is they operate among the citizens and will the army fire the citizens with them? NO! eradicating boko haram is the work of the security agencies. You cannot use boko haram and mend to guage the nigeria millitary strenght.
These reports are not compiled by the military they written by annalists and the companies that build our weapons, if you had to see some of the other stuff you would change your views
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 5:44pm On Apr 19, 2012
The Defender: If truly the Nigeria millitary is weak or not strong enough compare to other african countries, then why did the US chose them as number one in africa defence or peacekeeping among all other african countries including SA which claim to be the strongest. The US knows their strenght and knows they are the best for the job. Whether you accept or not that's the truth and SA cannot dare Nigeria. If you citizens are ignorant about that, your government knows it.
Can i see your source for that. I have this source

Or how about a USN SSNK in our harbor
http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/4552350-south-africa-nuclear-submarine-uss-manoeuvres

Fact is all the books and reports i have seen have the west worried when about the condition of the nigerian army.

Has for secrets All data online is a under estimation all nations do it They say it an go mach 2 when in real life it is mach 2.5.

Has for invasion, why invade just destroy your oil economy and watch has you collapse pretty easy to since most facility's are on or near the water
Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 6:09pm On Apr 18, 2012
The Defender: Hmmmm. south africans with sugarcoated mouth, everything for show off.
At ;least we have something to show. Where is Nigeria's home grown advanced weapon industry or any other African nation for that matter
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 6:01pm On Apr 18, 2012
Lwandle: Zimbabwean forces were instrumental in putting down RENAMO(armed and financed by the WEST & SA) in Mozambique to bring peace to that country.

Zimbabwean forces were instrumental in helping Namibia militarily in its quest for independence!

Zimbabwea housed and protected ANC leaders before SA gained independence.

It was members of the Zimbabwe special forces who killed Savimbi( a USA backed rebel) thereby helping Angola achieve lasting peace 25yrs after independence.

It was Zimbabwean forces together with Angola and Namibia who held back Rwandan and Ugandian backed rebels ( Financed and armed by WESTERN countries) in their attempts to overthrow an elected gvt in DRC Congo. Ask yourselves where that rebel Nkunda is today.

It was Zimbabwean secret service that rumbled and arrested mercenaries and prevented a coup attempt in oil rich Equatorial Guinea that involved a few leading lights of the British aristocracy.

Zimbabwean forces are much sort after when it comes to U.N peace keeping duties all over the world.

You should check where your SA officers get their training my bro before pontificating abt things you dont know!
All a long time ago while most of them in any case. While i will say you are our biggest threat you are still not the best or even a big threat.

And i know where our officers get trained it is not Zimbabwe. We send people there for the same reason we send them to all other countries to see how they do things different to us. If we only focused on how we saw the world we could not adopt to the changing world. Example we have never had any of our ships come under attack from enemy fighter aircraft but the british have. So we send some people there to learn what they did right and wrong so even though we have never had it happen to us we know what to do. It is better to learn from some body else's mistake than yours because you never know if you will get a second chance.
Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 4:22pm On Apr 13, 2012
Lwandle: Experience wise Zimbabwe!!!!!
Experience in what. When they fought for freedom they got slaughtered by a smaller force and after that there was a small war where they helped out. They have no current experience in any thing but terrorising the poor and defenceless. There are criminal gangs in SA with more combat experience.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by andrewza: 8:40am On Apr 11, 2012
we here because people like you like talking bad about us. And I am white so do I have the right to beat my chest. And it dose not matter how we got to where we are we are there.

PoliticsRe: Tribute To Nigerian Military In Pictures by andrewza: 10:40am On Apr 10, 2012
Could to know your navy is getting new boats. Any other info on them. Like weapons and crew size. The IPV looks like the same thing we built for supplying the rigs in nigeria. Same basic look. If I was in charge I would increase the OPV numbers to 3 to 4 you got a real threat from MEND and pirates and if you only got 2 you can only have one out at sea on a continual operation.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 6:37am On Apr 09, 2012
patriot2: We get the same weapons training as you, the only difference is that you actually develop many of your weapons, and believe me there is no chance for corruption in the Nigerian army. The senior officers know it may win them a bullet in the head (yes i forgot: in Nigerian army court-martials can have a soldier executed). Your air force is a bit better in terms of modernization.
I was not worried about the officers stealing money. My worry is politicians.

Has I said before your solders are tough. But tough is not all a solder is other wise you could use athletes. There are areas where Nigeria is good they got good due to the fighting they in. South africa has no enemy there for we train for every type of warfare
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 5:40am On Apr 09, 2012
The Cubans executed the general they sent to south africa. And they never one a battle.

Has I said your training is tough. Dose not mean it is good. Buy trained I mean we know how to fight we got better field craft training better medical training better combat training better weapons training. So yes you can run faster. we can shoot faster and farther.

Your defense budget is only now bigger than us. How much of it I wonder ends up in some body's back pocket. And please do not mention corruption in the SANDF it is very small almost nothing by Nigerian standard. And please there are two defense budgets in SA one for the defense force one for armscore who handel procurement. And we have more than enough equipment. So much we sell some of the stuff.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 4:18am On Apr 09, 2012
patriot2: Keep talking, that's the only thing that would save your inexperienced little army.
That and our better training, better equipment, better C4I2R ability.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 3:57am On Apr 09, 2012
patriot2: Go and ask your apartheid period army, they sure didn't think like you when we came knocking at your gates.
I just did. He wants to know what drugs you are on.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 3:38am On Apr 09, 2012
patriot2: I hope you do know ecowas countries are actually countries around Nigeria and that Nigeria has the capacity to invade all of them at once and then we would move forward on land to south africa where we would destroy south afrian army!
I highly doubt you could invade all your neighbors at once. And you could not sustain any force of note has far away has south africa.

Your Army is large and the training tough. It means nothing if you do not train enough and are out dated equipment. And you can say your gear is not out dated and is the best. And for your area maybe. But compared to south africa you are untrained and have third rate gear. So before you talk ill look at your own defense force.
PoliticsRe: Can ECOWAS Threaten Nigeria To Return To Civilian Rule In Case Of A Coup? by andrewza: 3:18am On Apr 09, 2012
patriot2: f.uck you, you are a big liar. Everybody knows the soldiers are well accommodated. I lived most of my life in barracks and I won't let you lie hear. I bet you are not even a Nigerian. Go to hell.
Was that in NCO accommodation or officer accommodation. And not all units would be the same.

souldust: @andrewza you seem not to know anything about nigeria and its security challenges. Let me edu you a bit. Nigeria is a multinational country. Each of these nations have diff and sometimes selfish and unresonable interests. The nigerian state has as its goal above anything else the unity of the country which makes the country a bit careful in tackling security challenges. various nations see this as a weak point so they blackmail the naija state. They know the state's hand is tied behind itself and they take full advantage. So you can see how complicated the issue is. Th security challenges is not something that an all out millitary can solve. Had it been it is all about military response, all these groups BH MEND would have been flushed out a long time ago.
I under stand that you face a more political problem than military problem. You need to bring all the tribes together and under stand you are one. So you think you the only nation with many tribes in it. South africa still has a zulu king. But we have come together. If nigeria could do that then they will deserve the title giant of africa.

souldust: even if you were forced into it, you cannot succesfully attack naija. I laughed when you mentioned a sub and a couple of other things. Do you honestly think a sub can do all of the work required? Even if the rest of africa joins you, that would still be very dificult. You will stand a chance only if egypt supports fully. But egypt like we know is not bothered about africa. You said our navy is contested in the region pls can you mention that navy?
A typo on from my side. I wanted to say uncontested sorry for the miss understanding there. Has for the Sub. It will have one job. We got 2 if you think it is needed but me I feel one is enough. Sink the largest Nigerian ship out at sea. Your flag ship is the first choice since it is a actual threat (a small one since it is alone). With her gone we can do what we want on you waters. Provided we do not stray to close to shore based guns.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by andrewza: 5:47pm On Apr 06, 2012
Ok here is a question. Where would Nigeria be with out the white people.

Your oil fields are drilled by white owed company's. So if they all just left then what. The oil gets bought by the white man what if they said we do not want your oil. so where would you be. Your massive army uses whit man guns and tanks. Your computers use white man programs and operating systems. So look at one self be fore laughing at others.
Nairaland GeneralRe: I Hate The Arrogance Of Nigerians!!! by andrewza: 5:40pm On Apr 06, 2012
Black people do not fear whites. Maybe a few of them but those are the older folk who do not know they are in charge now the young and middle aged do not have fear. Actually there are more whites afraid of blacks than blacks of whites. Racism is nothing but a form of fear.

And how come Nigeria is known for scams and not the so called sneaky Ghana.

Foreign AffairsRe: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by andrewza: 6:39am On Apr 06, 2012
adamsheaven: why do we compare NIGERIA military with other military in Africa? Egypt may have the equipment.South Africa may produce the weapons but NIGERIA military remains the best in Africa if not why would the American military take Nigerian military has its partner in war? moreover Nigerian soldiers have what we call MORALE,their morale is unbeatable in Africa so its part of what makes Nigeria a giant of Africa therefore no country in Africa dares Nigeria..... grin cheesy wink
What do you mean partner in war?

And what do you think there is low moral in the other countries.
