Foreign AffairsRe: Mali Soldiers Seize Power After Palace Attack by andrewza: 7:52pm On Mar 24, 2012
Seems some high ranking south african diplomats are stranded in the capital. There is a fear the coup does not have 100% support and a civil war may start. And you know the rebels will just love that.
Foreign AffairsRe: Nigeria Vs South Africa by andrewza: 7:12pm On Mar 24, 2012
Has I said before. There is no ability for either side to invade one another. Both sides have only a limited amphibian force. So it will be limited to navel action and spec ops operations, neither of witch wins wars.

The south african navy can operate a task force that far and it will destroy Nigeria's navy and could do a lot of damage to the maritime trade and industry (oil wells) but again to what end. War will not happen.

Ayowumie: I didn't intend to reply to this post until i came across the above.
@andrewza, don't you think you are contradicting yourself except of course if your "been run badly" refers to 'leadership be excellence'?

When a country is been run badly, don't you think it is a threat to the constitution and the people?
Take an instance from Somalia. In political science, it is a famous and clear description of what a 'theoretical failed' nation depicts.
Why?
The reason is because the government has failed in so many ways and it seems to have lost the machinery of government.
I think you should think about your post and pin point what exactly you meant.

Generally speaking, I don't subscribe to the assertion that a coup ALWAYS AND ABSOLUTELY BRINGS A NATION BACKWARD.
That's a total lie. Nothing is ever absolute.
Theoretically, such assertion does not hold water; practically, it is a lie. Check Cuba under Fidel Castro; Nigeria under Murtala.

Am not trying to justify any coup, am only saying that neither can any body justify uncivil and repressive democracy.
When a man is pushed to the wall, he either must die or fight back (in any case one must lead to the other). The right path lies in what your definitions of rights and wrongs are.
A threat and direct threat has a different meaning.

Tony blare made many poor decisions a big one being supporting a invasion of Iraq. Did he need a coup no. He got voted out because he went against the will of the people.

Robert Mugabe is a direct threat, his action have led to the death of many of his people.

I am not saying the military should sit by and let a rogue leader destroy there country. But lets look at libya, many solders joined the rebel forces but at no time was it a coup, it was a civilian uprising that solders joined. I saw no civilians demanding a uprising in Mali.

Foreign AffairsRe: Which African Country Has The Most Formidable Standing Army? by andrewza: 2:19pm On Mar 23, 2012
abubaka101: For now and for a long time, the Nigerian army has always being ready for any mission that comes their way. Nigerian soldiers have being more active and responsible than any other country's soldiers in recent times. Boko Haram are decribed as "faceless", but our soldiers are still killing them.
For those that think its S.A., you only said cause you don't think its Nigeria's.
you only have man power and the hostage rescue mission that took place in Nigeria not to long ago point out that

A number are not every thing

B you are far from ready for any mission

Not trying to be rude, but your army is not up to scratch.

And what dose that last line mean i can not under stand it.I say SA due to it's higher level of training and better tactics, and much better equipment. And for information sake we do deploy solders on AU/UN missions and on the border.

You seem like an intelligent fellow (although I can't being doing with all those stupid insults flying around)

There is no such as good military government, some boys from the barracks don't have any right to tell YOU how to live your life, but that's military men do all the time in Africa. If your moto jam soldier-man moto you go dey fear whyhuh who is a soldier-man, his job is to guard the nation and her citizens not terrorize them. Soldiers are not rulers. People revolution not military coup. if the soldiers want they can join us BUT never rule us.
viva the people power to the people NOT THE MILTARY.

This is from a PROUND member of the South African Defense Force for 3 years
They would be like their neighbours Zimbabwe and Botswana. . . Poor confused and backwards!

lazy bastards who couldnt even fight for their own independence
Funny i know of no foreign freedom fights for the liberation of south Africa.

And Botswana is a very well run country unlike Nigeria
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali Soldiers Seize Power After Palace Attack by andrewza: 4:09pm On Mar 22, 2012
I doubt they will win. Any military that shows such ill discipline is not a very compotated one.

And they did it just before election they had no idea what the new president would have done. They should all be shot for this crime
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali Soldiers Seize Power After Palace Attack by andrewza: 4:02pm On Mar 22, 2012
I will say again. The military has no place running a country. yes if a leader steps out of line they can remove him then hand over to a civilian structure. The constitutional court is a good body to over see the time of no government or call a emergency session and have the members of parliament vote a temporary president in place
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali Soldiers Seize Power After Palace Attack by andrewza: 2:35pm On Mar 22, 2012
The military must never rule the country they must serve it

i agree 100% here. Many do nor know, but during the 70s and 80s South Africa was struggling in the economic department, the only reason why it did not look like it was because the country only looked after the white minority. Has it stands we are the biggest power on the block. We refine more crude oil than Nigeria and we do not even have oil in the country SASSOL not counting.

Why do Nigerian's all ways go on about South Africa
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by andrewza: 1:54pm On Mar 22, 2012
A you got Aids in your country

B crime is not has high has most think
C at least a south african is honest about robbing you unlike in Nigeria where you get scams and corrupt officials taking your money.

Agreed
Foreign AffairsRe: Mali Soldiers Seize Power After Palace Attack by andrewza: 10:35am On Mar 22, 2012
They are a disgrace to there uniform and have betrayed there nation. There Is a special place in hell for people who betray there nation like this.

So what if a country is beaning run badly. It is a civilian matter. The only time a coup is acceptable is when the government becomes a directed threat to the people, land and constitution.
Foreign AffairsRe: Military Coup In Mali by andrewza: 10:07am On Mar 22, 2012
The problem is what can be done. Invasion, doubt it
Sanctions, would take to long to have any effects

It is sad to see nations military's showing such behavior and betrayal. Sham on them.
Foreign AffairsRe: Where Would South Africa Be Without White People? by andrewza: 9:55am On Mar 22, 2012
Has a white south african let me say this. I agree and disagree at the same time. Yes far to many black south africans think that because what happened 20 years ago means that they deserve free hand outs and do not need to work. But there are many that do work. And those who do work harder than there white counter parts. Has for where south africa would be if they had left. Like the rest of southern africa. Poor and recovering or in a civil war.
Foreign AffairsRe: Name and Shame Your African Heroes,Losers and Traitors. by andrewza: 4:28am On Mar 20, 2012
How can any body claim Robert Mugabe has a hero. So he dose not deal with the white man. His once great nation is in ruin. And he is selling his people out to china. Replacing one evil for another.
