If u watched the game, u won't be asking such a rhetorical question.
The onfield ref + VAR ref had a very very bad game Please, be my guest. I watched the game. |

Joezinho: If that was a penalty then the foul made by Ederson on Odegaard in the first half should have been given.
Too many penalties decisions going the way of Shekpites and man shitty this season.. Ederson fouled Odegaard? That is news to me. Sure, he got the player and the ball, but VAR is not going to overturn the refs decision on the pitch since he got the ball. |

Ibime: I vaguely recall seeing something like that somewhere. Anyway his longer throat is already established given his relationship with Raiola. Maybe Jay-Z has even more to offer. Raiola is not the only shark out here. He fired Mino after he moved to United over Chelsea. Romelu was not happy about it as he preferred Chelsea and Conte but Mino went with United because they paid him more as an agent. |

donjazet: I love how our high profile fans are lambasting Lukaku. No sensible person would defend Lukaku's actions. It's abominable. It's the height of disrespect. If Tuchel doesn't bench Lukaku next tomorrow. I'll be strongly tuchelout. It would spell out how weak he is, how incapable he is of punishing renegades. If you bench him and you lose, it will be a bigger mess for TT. TT's duty is to pretend like it is being blown out of proportion, win something else this season and use it as leverage to either sell R9 or freeze him out like Conte treated Costa. |

I don't know why TT is whiny. Brighton had many players out as did Leicester against Liverpool. Every team has had to deal with injuries, COVID19 and suspensions. Rather than deflecting and passing blames, TT has to concede that winning a long and painful 38 game long season in the EPL is no light work. He is intelligent enough to learn but he has to be sportsman enough to accept it. |

Roland17: I wouldn’t go that far to underestimate Tuchel and Chelsea against Liverpool. Tuchel has earned his respect amongst top managers in the EPL. Despite his current situation, he is a very good tactician and understands how to counter the tactics of top managers. It will absolutely not shock me if he outwits Klopp when they match up. You don't think Liverpool would want to respond to the Leicester loss? |

The future of the Spanish national team depends on 3 players. Ansu Fati, Pedro Lopez and Ferran Torres. Barcelona had 2 of them already so they wanted to add the third. If you read Pep's interview on the sale of the player, you would know that had Torres not declared he wanted to leave, City would never have sold him. At his current age, he is a better finisher than everybody at Manchester City. It is the physical nature of the EPL that made Pep select games to use him in. He is not as stout as Aguero was but Ferran has equal potential in terms of finishing chances. There is not one player in this current Barcelona team that finishes chances better than him. I understand that you fans feel like your lean budget can be better managed, I doubt it. You are not going to get Haaland or Mbappé. You need a finisher. The Sevilla guy you acquired, Depay, Braithwaite etc are not better finishers than Ferran. Football fans and being reactive. |

Capaldi: The Stats doesn't agree with your opinion . Chelsea 2 big chances to Villa one says otherwise. Are you confusing big chances for xG? Big chance is (xG > 0.25). Aston Villa had 1.5 xG (expected goals) and Chelsea had 1.1 xG. I approximated it to 2 for Villa and 1 for Chelsea. However, you are right. Chelsea had 2 big chances to Villa's 1.

Capaldi: That's a lie. Aston villa never had an xG of 2. In that game. Chelsea created 2 big chances to Villa 1. You have forgotten all the saves Mendy made in that game especially in the first half. You have forgotten that 2 of R9s goals came from nothing. You have forgotten that that was Saul's first game. Besides, I gave approximates. Not saying those were exact figures. |

Capaldi: City xG this season is 40 while Chelsea is 35. Liverpool are the only one far from everyone with 48. The difference is when you were winning many games earlier, you were outdoing your xG to achieve that. In the Aston Villa game that you won 3-0 their xG was 2 point something and yours was 1 point something which means you should have lost that game 1-2 based on the chances created. But you won with a clean sheet. Now it seems those stats are coming to bite you. Meanwhile, City are on the ascendancy and even though Liverpool have kind of plateaued, theirs is still healthier than yours. |

Debroslink: Ferran Torres has never impressed me at City. I hope the 55m investment is worth it. As a finisher he is better than every body on your current roster. His issue is he is not physically strong on the ball. He can get nudged off easily but all those chances that players throw away on Xavi's set-up, Ferran will score it. |

raumdeuter: Ronaldo could not even crack 70 goals I don't know why most people have accepted that data as accurate. I am not saying it isn't as I have not checked it. However, a lot of his numbers are also padded by his national team goals against footballing minnows. Messi outscored him in the other competitions more times than otherwise. Never mind the fact that CR7 played more games in total in most of those seasons. Granted, CR7 has been a revolution in the UCL for many seasons. |

AnfieldFan: What business of ours is it if it was a City player or not... Ederson came for the ball, missed and completely cleared out Ryan Fraser and your defense is that if a City player was in Fraser's place, they would still have collided.. A ref will not give Newcastle a penalty if Ederson slapped and body slammed Laporte in his defence. The point is, because a foul is committed in the box does not mean it must be a penalty. If Ederson's action prevented Fraser from getting to the ball, it is a penalty every day. If Fraser was in contention for the ball, it is a penalty everyday. Many times refs ignore holding and pulling during set plays if the player infringed is not in the line of action of the ball. I know it might feel like Newcastle were undone by that penalty that they were not given. So let us agree that the game ended 4-1. |

AnfieldFan: Just tiring...
I watch football while maintaining a degree of rationality(regarding some stupid takes by refs)... I was just deflated emotionally today, like how can such mediocrity be acceptable in a league that prides itself as the best....
Android17 as usual being his anti-Klopp Liverpool self.... I am never antiKlopp. The argument that Dele did not appeal therefore it is not a penalty is like saying Foden did not appeal when Kilman or whatever the Wolves player's name is who handled the ball in his box couple games back - therefore it is not a penalty. It is VARs duty to do their job. Alli overacted but he was nudged. Referees make mistakes. Foden scored a legit goal against Southampton in that 0-0 draw but VAR ruled it off because they thought Sterling hit the ball. Replays showed that Sterling did not. |
