A Jos High Court on Thursday sentenced a 26-year-old man, Obinah John, to death by hanging for robbing one Dorothy Olaniyi of N1, 705.
The convict was also sentenced to death for robbing Olaniyi of two rolls of peak milk in sachets, valued at N400, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
The prosecution counsel, Mr. G. D. Fwonyon, who is the deputy director, Public Prosecution in Plateau State had told the court that John, in company with an accomplice, also named John, now at large, robbed the woman on November 18, 2005 in her shop at Gada Biu, Jos at gunpoint.
He told the court that John and his accomplice, having allegedly conspired and used a gun to rob Olaniyi, had committed a criminal offence punishable by hanging.
But John’s counsel, Mr. Tobechukwu Kekemeke, rejected the prosecutor’s claim, and accused the police of “not telling the truth about the gun” said to have been used by John.
Kekemeke pointed out that the police presented three statements, with only the last indicating a confession by the accused that he used a gun against the victim.
The defence counsel further argued that the prosecution had failed to prove to the court that the accused actually used a gun to commit the act.
He asked the court to throw out the case for lack of diligent prosecution, arguing that “the circumstances of the third statement, in which John was said to have admitted ownership of the gun, is suspect.”
In a 60-page judgment, Justice Yargata Nimpa said the evidence before the court had shown that the accused committed the offence and sentenced John to death by hanging.
“The accused is hereby sentenced to death by hanging, but the judgment is liable to an appeal,” Nimpa declared.
Kekemeke told NAN that he would appeal against the verdict.
“The convict has the right to appeal against the judgment. It is not a judgment that we are satisfied with, so we are definitely going to appeal at the Court of Appeal,” he vowed.

Na grammar you dey yan. Listen, the same guy who exonerated his company is same guy he roped in. That has voided whatever recommendation Farouk made to cover Oteloa's companies.
Therefore, the 2 companies must be thoroughly investigated and if found guilty, Otedola should be sent to prison and his assets confiscated.

For real my brother after that experience, when I see some pretty ladies walking, I start to wonder what they got under their undies. I have sensitive sense organ and cant stand any form of odor. If I walk into any ladies apartment and passive any form of odor, I don't proceed with that relationship. Try to meet ladies early morning before any form of make up, then you can assess her beauty and cleanness. When you meet a lady before her birth assess her properly. I have been in that position before cos a lady I was dating had a body odor and this a lady that everybody appreciates of a mixed race of which the mother is Nigeria but the father an American.

Your story is like a friend of mine who had same kind of blood covenant with a lady friend of us.In short, all us were school mates and later we got work in same bank. The guy and the lady later put money together and the guy left for USA for further studies. When he got there, he just abandoned this girl at home and started a relation with another lady in the US. This girl was in Nigeria waiting on the guy and the guy cut off communication with her and now went ahead to marry an American lady after his post graduate program and was one of the best graduating student from Alabama A&M. I was then in Atlanta when a friend of mine in NY called me that the guy went mad after the marriage.

To further cut the story short, he was sent back to Nigeria and he is still mad till date after having his masters.

So, I suggest that you go to Synagogue Church of Nations for deliverance, if not you are in TOTAL Bondage with the guy and cannot run away form him even if he goes ahead to marry the lady or you to marry another man[/b]
