Chimaobieustace: Thank you very much. I would remove the German schools. I've not yet filled the ds160 form. Can I just research on like two schools and tell the V.O that I applied to them and didn't choose them for a reason which I'd also state? That's a better way to go. Good luck! |

Chimaobieustace: If the V.O demands for more explanations on why I didn't complete my application for Berlin Institute of technology, I'd tell that I basically decided to go on with ECPI when I was admitted. That of me not getting an admission decision yet from Freiburg isn't really in my hands. You are making it very easy for the VO. ....Go to Germany as per your choice of schools 2 to 1. For the purpose of the interview focus on US Universities only, if it's not too late for the appointment. |

Chimaobieustace: I had already explained why I chose the course above. I'm 22. I just want to know the loop holes in the proposed transcript. Thank you V.O: How many schools did you apply to? Me: I applied to 3 schools V.O: Name them Me: ECPI University in the U.S, then Berlin Institute of technology and Freiburg University all located in Germany. V.O: How many admitted you? Me: The first I heard from was ECPI, I'm yet to hear from Freiburg University, and I haven't finalized my application with Berlin Institute of technology. So practically it's only ECPI University that admitted me.You applied to 3 schools, 2 of which are in Germany, one incompleted application and the other no admission decision reached yet. How do you address that in front of the VO? (US Embassy). |

Lightp: Got a question.
Apart from getting your visa approved, who determine or what determines when you can leave the country. Your I-20? Or you? Or the VO?
Let me try and make an instance.
Assuming you are supposed to resume by fall 2020 (September) and you get your visa approved by March. Can you leave by April for instance. (Note. you have someone or somewhere to stay until resumption).
Who determines when you leave the country?
Thanks It's highly unlikely you will be issued a visa (F1) in April for September admission, it's outside of the 120 days window and if you did, F1 Visa rules limit your entry to 30 days before your school start date. Anything outside of the 30 days before start date is enforced by immigration at Port of entry. (Denial of entry/Deportation). |

bamboobie: Oh no she told the VO she was going to visit her daughter and her grand child. Also would you think 4 weeks is ideal so that when she's asked why she changed from 4 months to 4 weeks she can then say it was an error with the first application and she didn't realize until it was too late(meaning she had to stick to the initial info she had filled)? 4 weeks is reasonable and making months/weeks error is fairly common. What's your nationality? I'm not trying to make assumptions-- could be a factor too. |

bamboobie: I'm currently on H1B, my GC is currently in the works. According to her, the moment she mentioned 4months the VO's countenance changed. She was issued the generic paper that reads her intention to be in the U.S is not consistent with the Visa she applied for. (No home ties I suppose). "Au pair" under J1 exchange but that's a long shot. Let her reapply and use the words "visit and see" not "take care". Technicalities in words. You can also reduce length of stay. |

bamboobie: Hello fellow Nairalanders, I have a quick question and I'm hoping y'all can help.
Not sure if there is a thread for mothers who are traveling on B1/B2 to help their children in the U.S take care of their grandkids. So I'm just going to post here since I didn't find the thread.
So I've invited my mum over, she was denied the first time she went. Told the VO she was staying for 4months (PS: She's 50 YO, has her own business and still married with another child in the University in Nigeria, she has never traveled out of Nigeria before as well) but still wasn't issued the Visa. According to what we filled in the DS160 I'm the one sponsoring the trip and I gave her my personal statement to take with her but the VO didn't even ask to see it nor did she collect it when she offered to show her. Now my question is, she's going back in a few weeks and I need to know if I can just go ahead to reduce the length of stay to 4weeks and if that won't pose any issues.
Thanks. Did she give you an idea of why she was denied? And are you a citizen or GC holder? |

I will be traveling to the US soon, I will be visiting and staying with my brother and his wife, campus in view in one university in the same state for my PhD program. ALL expenses is on me as I lecture in tertiary institution. I haven't marry yet and no travel history.
What are my chances? Your chances are good in my opinion, depending on the course/program, funding and the school. But you will not know until you try. Good luck |

1mole1: Well done great people. As a permanent resident of Canada who is still in Nigeria without any travel history, what are my chances of getting a visa with my father to visit my brother who has a green card and will sponsoring the trip?
My only ties to Nigeria are my spouse and child.
Is it better for me to first travel to Canada as a Permanent Resident and apply for US visa from there? Is there a likelihood of me being given from Canada rather than from Nigeria?
I'd appreciate your responses As a Canadian resident you are required to apply for Visa from your country of residence (Canada) but since you have not landed I would suggest you should not 'create' stories for yourself. Go to Canada apply from Canada and let your Dad apply for US visa alone. Be mindful you have a resident "visa". |

fabianiyobosa: I did my BSc in India.
I applied for MS in Poland (Kozminski University). But the school is asking me to send my documents to the school by regular mail which I feel is normal, but the problem is, they are asking for my notarized ORIGINAL CERTIFICATE or a notarized copies of my certificates.
Now my dilemma is that, I cannot send my originals to them and secondly, I cannot get notarized copies because I am no longer in India. The school is very adamant and they are insisting on either the originals or the notarized copies. They are not accepting scanned copies of the certificates. I even made them understand that when I get to Poland, I will submit the originals, they refused.
Can I notarize my Indian certificates in Nigeria? Yes! Make very good clear copies of your documents and go to the India High Commission in Lagos for attestation. http://www.hciabuja.gov.in/consular-services.php#cs-10or https://www.nairaland.com/566958/authenticity-documents-ministry-foreign-affairs |

Please I want to make an enquiry about BA. If you have 2 stop overs before your final destination, at what point do you get your luggages. Like travelling to Atlanta, and the port of entry is Dallas. Will baggages be released to passengers at Dallas or at the final destination which is Atlanta.

Yureyes: Good afternoon house. Please I need some clarification. Firstly, I finished university in 2011, as my statement of result indicates but I was awarded my degree in 2012; as a result, it is 2012 that is written on my WES evaluation. Am I supposed to choose the year i actually finished university or the year my certificate was awarded as my university end date? Also I started working before my degree was awarded, won't that be a red flag on my work experience if I choose what's on the degree certificate? Like I started working full-time before graduation?
In addition, I applied for the US non-immigrant Visa last year and I used the year on my certificate as my year of graduation on the US online application, but now I want to apply to Canada, would choosing the year I actually finished ( the one on my statement of result) for Canada be a problem? I heard both countries have access to each other's database, will choosing a different year now count as misrepresentation?
Please someone help a confused person. Use the year your certificate was awarded and be consistent with it. |

Amaka6934: Good day my people, I've been following this thread from the beginning and it has helped me alot. But abeg I need help I applied for my ist US Visa in 2015, I was about 6months pregnant and I fully declared my intention and was granted my Visa. I had my ist baby in Dallas and used MCA, in total I paid almost 11k. I also had a 2nd baby in 2017 in Houston used st luke chi and dr f. I paid about 7k5. I also collected all my receipts and zero balance and everything. I didn't overstay or use any insurance of any kind, paid all my Bill's. Fast forward to renewal of my Visa, did drop box and was invited for an interview. I was actually very shocked and speechless , it was so fast that before I could react it was over and I was denied. The vo was visibly upset infact she was RED. I was so scared thought I had committed a crime. Here's a transcript of what transpired. I wasn't pregnant at the time just wanted to renew it so applied for b1/b2 Visa. Interview was in Abuja Vo. Good morning Me .good morning Vo can I have your passport Me. Hands it over Vo how many times have you visited the us Me twice in 2015 and 2017 both purposes for child birth. (This was where everything scattered, she was typing then she looked up gradually started turning red) Vo you were issued a Visa to have one baby and you decided to have 2 babies how convenient Me was confused at this point was wondering if it was illegal) since it was for the same purpose and I got pregnant again and could afford the bills Vo( she kept on repeating one Visa 2 babies, very convenient. Said this like 5 times and typing as well) Me I was told it's ok as long as you can afford it and I paid all my bills and I'm with my receipts Vo are you pregnant Me no Vo do you intend to have more babies in the us? Me for now no, I have a boy and girl and blah blah Vo (nodding her head in disgust like superstory ) so the only times you entered the us was to have babies Me yes, I paid all my Bill's and I have all my receipts Vo let me see Me. I hand them over ( started explaining, paid about 11k for the ist blah blah She cuts me Vo why where you given discount Me trying to explain self pay blah blah Vo you were given discount, I put it to you that you used insurance She was already so red with anger, me self do give up tire self cause it's obvious she was looking for fault Me I didn't you can see it clearly written no insurance was used self pay We argued back and forth when she saw she wasn't making sense she moved to the other bill. Immediately she saw it was from dr.f Vo aha you went to dr f right, Me yes At this point she started typing, the only bills she used to type whatever in her computer was dr f own,she then hands me the pink form and said a bunch of rubbish me I already packed all my things cause me I don vex too.
My question is, 1.has anyone experienced this kinda thing with dr fs package, do they have anything against him? 2. Was I wrong to have used the Visa for the same purpose twice as that's what really ticked her off 3. I'm expecting now and intend to travel again, my husband wants to go for the interview to also renew his Visa but he didn't use the last one he was issued, it was a training but it was later done in Nigeria and being busy never really had the time to travel. Is it wise to apply with him or go alone . Please I need answers on how to proceed a new doctor since dr f, didn't seem to go down well with her. Thanks everyone. The problem is with the bills, for each delivery there are several bills i.e. Dr Fs package, Hospital bills ++ and baby bill (pediatric) Can you post copies of your bills/receipts on this forum so I can explain somethings to you? (please do not show your personal information if you decide to post the bills/receipts) |
