Depending on the school, ELECTRONICS MEDIA & BROADCASTING is a major under the department of COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES. Write your major - ELECTRONICS MEDIA & BROADCASTING.

eky102,
Depending on the country's visa you are talking about; if you have a visa to Libya nobody expects you to go there now, given the situation on ground. However, vacation is planned, you applied and got a visa, use your visa before you submit your passport and that will prove you plan to come back to Nigeria. What visa (country) do you have before I pass further comments?
RomanceRe: Will You Still Marry Her If She Won't Fully Change Her Last Name -No Hyphenation by anfanio: 2:02am On May 04, 2011
from : princek12
I guess your comment means that you agree that it applies to Christians. For non Christians, marriage is still about unification, and spirituality applies to everyone regardless of whether they are Christians or not--i.e., having one name is a symbolic act of unification.

I never said that the women who keep their name are not unified with their husbands, but that symbolic act is absent. Like I said, it boils down to choice and it can only be possible if the husband consents to it. So at the end of the day, the woman has to persuade her husband to consent to it or find a man who will consent to it. And assuming she finds no one who will consent to it, then that women should be prepared to stay single.
There are men who do not care about name change, so consent is not necessary if you find one.

What's in a name? I can't believe at this age men still put importance on their names.

TravelRe: Candid Advice Pls by anfanio: 1:18am On Apr 29, 2011
joyli,
Like Vicjustice suggested, for immigration reasons don’t buy a Lagos - JFK and tell immigration officer you are going to California without a connecting flight – looks suspicious. San Francisco is a 6hrs 30mins flight (non-stop) from NY, about 2 days by train, and by bus huh?. Secondly if you have to buy ticket on the spot, the price will be very expensive, almost twice normal price.
It’s cheaper if you book your flight from Nigeria. Try these options and check about transit visa:
1. Lagos - New York – San Francisco
2. Lagos - Amsterdam – San Francisco
3. Lagos - Atlanta – San Francisco
4. Lagos – London - San Francisco
5. Lagos - Frankfurt – San Francisco
6. Lagos - Paris – San Francisco
7. Tell the agent to try other available options.
Good luck

visuals,
Don't focus on any officer, pay attention to what you need to correct, regroup and move on. You can not decide what officer you want to see or you like, the lady you talked about in the Abuja office has been reported to be very tough, but you came back and said she was nice, so focus on improving yourself and keep praying. Good luck.

TravelRe: He Wants To Travel But In A Fix As To Which Country by anfanio: 3:42am On Apr 26, 2011
Your cousin should eliminate some countries and come up with about two or three, then people can come up with reasons to support their suggestions, otherwise he's in a big fix.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada by anfanio: 5:54pm On Apr 24, 2011
chizquare,
Be specific, clear and convincing in your statement of purpose; do not use medical jargons except when necessary, the VO is neither a patient nor a colleague. If there is no (business) relationship between you and the parastatal your cousin works for, avoid the letterhead.
And by the way (tosinosho1992) CDC is not an arm of WHO.
TravelRe: I Need Assistance To Get My Certificate Attested ( Legalize ) by anfanio: 3:53pm On Apr 23, 2011
Take your original certificates/transcripts with copies to the mentioned offices above and get a designated staff to sign the copies, each as a true copy of the original, that is what attestation is.

"I hereby certify that this is a true copy of the original certificate/transcript" ------------ signed/dated with a stamp and seal if available.

This note and signature will be on the copy or preferably, the copy will be attached to a letter with the Ministry or Embassy letterhead addressed to the university.
Good luck.

YES
TravelRe: General U.S.A (student) Visa Enquiries by anfanio: 1:30am On Apr 22, 2011
gendebs,
Nice if you get waiver on your application fee but nobody can waive your I-20. The more waivers you get- that involves money- the more you are telling the VO you can not afford the school or pay for anything, be careful.

nnamdistan,
US credit cards are OK. There are several reasons why those others means are not available now, they will in the near future let your friend do it. Good luck.

shavel,
community colleges have smaller classrooms and there is more one on one with the instructors and the tuition is often cheaper which gives you value for your money, another consideration is, many community colleges partner with four year colleges and most of your credits will transfer.

TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by anfanio: 7:34pm On Apr 09, 2011
yesoo,
Wether you apply now or after you get a new passport, you will want to express the fact that you have travelled to US before and come back to Nigeria. Use that point to your advantage, the visa cancellation will always come up until you overcome it (by getting another visa), the information is there somebody just needs to look, so be straight forward don't wait for your passport to expire, do it as soon as you have the opportunity. Good luck.
Send me an email I need to ask some personal questions and we'll take it from there.
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by anfanio: 7:18pm On Apr 09, 2011
2 years multiple entry visa is not the norm, it just saves you the headache of going back to the embassy every time you need to travel, however you need to be consistent with your story at point of entry with what you told them at the embassy, it's dicey sometimes. 6 months single entry visa is the standard, but it's at the discretion of the VO.

You do NOT send any document to the embassy. Carry them with you on the day of interview and present at the request of the VO.

TravelRe: To Nigerians In Diaspora by anfanio: 2:02am On Apr 02, 2011
Ifecotag,
Let’s stay focused here and talk about the issues you brought up before jumping into politics. Nigerians want to better themselves in all areas of life, so people move from villages into towns and cities. The same applies to Nigerians that immigrated to other parts of the world, however when there are no BASIC INFRASTRUCTURES, what do you want them to come back to?
To use your words, when the ‘educated and uneducated’ come back home to use their acquired ‘skills and knowledge’ they get frustrated over lack of electricity, good roads, and other things taken for granted overseas. Nigerians are hard working and enterprising people if given the right environment to excel.
If the necessary infrastructures are in place you will be surprised to see the return of Nigerians in an unimaginable numbers.
‘Why is it that some Nigerians are very insensitive and ignorant to the environment, people and culture they find themselves in?’ You are wrong on this, it is the leaders in Nigeria that are very insensitive and ignorant to the environment, culture and the people they lead, they are opportunists without vision for the country.
‘Badmouthing’ Nigeria, the way I see it, is not a bad thing; it’s a statement of fact. When things are not working or are sub standard we say it’s bad, yes situation of things in Nigeria are terrible or bad. I don’t know where you have been, it could be good if our comparison is to Haiti, Somalia and Sudan (my sincere apologies to those Nationals) but if we have to choose a western country, bad is an understatement. I’m not going to tell you the infrastructures and the way things work in Nigeria are wonderful when you and I know they are not. Don’t let us fool ourselves, we can disagree on the words or the presentations but the conclusion is the same.

If you remain under sponsorship during your stay it might be difficult to get your spouse over, except if you get the same sponsor to agree to do same for your spouse. Let me do some research and get back to you.
