GboyegaD: But in my case, I couldn't secure on campus accommodation hence, I secured a room in a 4Bedroom Apartment and I have a confirmation from the apartment. Can't I use that because that was the information I supplied while filling my DS-160. Was the arrangement made by the school? or can the school give you a letter to confirm your arrangement? Have you paid for the apartment? |

prospective students, Your chances are better off with campus housing for the first semester, than to tell the VO stories about off campus housing. The best off campus housing officer can do for you is "INTRODUCE" you or give you a "REFERRAL". The VO knows that the off campus housing managers will ask for documents you 'will not' have upon arrival- and they are standard requirements. My take, get campus housing first semester and after that do whatever you want. Also, housing around any university community is very challenging and competitive, you may have to share with somebody you never met in your life - risky, then transportation comes into play, things could easily take a different shape than you were planning. |

Confused19: Is because i need the police certificate of criminal records here in spain, But They told me that i need the passport for do it. So I know how to get the nigerian E passport, But I don't know if that passport is the passport that i need. or maybe there are no more passports, I'm lost. Thanks The E-passport is the new passport issued by the Nigerian govt to replace previous (international) passports. You need to take whatever Nigerian passport you have as a form of identification to the police to obtain your records. |

USBound: @Shewhy: Congrats. Kindly post your interview. And, what is the arrangement of consulars in the consulate? Who is to be avoided? I am going very soon.
@ALL: What is this thing about changing embassy from lagos to abj or vice-versa after being denied once. Shewhy changed his consulate and still got it. What is missing? Changing embassy from Lagos to Abuja or vice-versa after being denied does not matter, the important thing is 'has your situation changed from the last denial'. |

thank u people To be a transfer student you must have attended or be attending some classes (in a university in Nigeria) and wish to continue in USA. If you only have WAEC/NECO then you need admission and not transfer. What do you mean on the statement in bold above? have you been there before or have you had admission there before? |

javeset: Hello Everyone,
Please I need an advise from anyone who knows about US visa regulations and Immigration Statistic.
I was approved a US student visa in Dec 2010, but due to one problem or the other, I deferred my admission to Fall 2011 which August 2011, that is next month. I contacted the US embassy whether I am going to come for a new interview or not before I asked my school to deffer my admission, but they said but I'd need to receive a new I-20 from the school for Fall semester.
The school had sent me the I-20 for Fall semester back since March 2011,
To summarize the story, now my I-20 has been terminated, and I contacted the Department of State and I explained everything to them. They said since I cannot attend the school again, my visa is officially void.
Now I'm confused I don;t know what to do again. You need to give more details on your situation, meanwhile answer these questions; Did the school cancel your admission? When did your visa expire? When did you call the embassy? When did you call the Department of State? |

vicidomini: Again:
You'd have to agree that every Nigerian craves free things and I'm no exception, Free as it comes on here, Every information,Success and Trial stories have began to hype me toward the journey ahead and to those free fingers typing out info worth paying for, I say more Grease to the joints, and to all intending Yanks like myself I say Put the pedal to medal.
If you're out there and you can find yourself relating with my situation help me beg our trusted people here to help us answer these.
Help!
I just secured admission into a U.S International school (University), An undergraduate 4yr BBA program in Business Administration
I'm currently in my 3rd year studying Sociology in Lasu and now planning on going for a 4yr undergraduate (BBA) Bachelor in science in Business Administration, what possible questions might be asked from me aside standard deviation and square root of -1?
Having Gained the Admission. Do I need to have present with me during interview Toefl,SAT results as the school didn't request to provide this from me while processing my application stating Nigeria as being Exempted from providing them.
I have been bounced 3 times already (2005) (2010) (2011) respectively. All under visiting Non Immigrant visa/application all in Lagos, Applying for an F1 visa at 26yrs of age now again in 2011 (Fall), what might my success rating be? Lagos or Abuja where would be my best bet?
Sevis fees are not accepted online from nigeria (you know why) and the only two available options are (1) crossing the seme boarder and (2)western union payments if you're lucky enough to have someone abroad to help you. I want to know how to go about paying through either means and the process it entails if anyone out here has paid through these means or has valid knowledge of how to go about this.
Can I find an Interview date before the middle of August as my school resumes on the 24th of same month?
At the end of the day the same consulars come back here to read all our Issues/Hints/Tips. But God over all.
Anxiously waiting for answers.
Thanks in adv. I will suggest you get a tranfer (admission) or complete your BA at Lasu and go for graduate studies in the US. Your chances are better that way than reapplying for visas frequently. Available info, you've been denied 3 times for visiting, your sister lives there (likely you are not coming back), you want to abandon your studies at 3rd year in Nigeria to start all over at a very high cost in US, (not reasonable to the VO - signs of desperation), and most likely your situation; financial and family (marital) has not changed since you last applied. Completing your BA and going for masters will be a big change. |

Baby acquires citizenship, father should file papers at , http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/acs_abuja_birthabroad.htmlAs U.S. citizen parent(s), you should report your child's birth abroad as soon as possible to establish an official record of the child's claim to U.S. citizenship at birth. A Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Form FS-240) is official evidence of U.S. citizenship issued to a child under age 18 who was born abroad to United States citizen parent(s) and acquired citizenship at birth. |

Can anyone tell me if i will be able to get student visa with Conditional Admission from a USA school cause the school may waive the TOEFL,GRE or SAT and any other standard test , and the school want to admit me with AMERICA LANGUAGE AND CULTURAL INSTITUTE test which am going to sit for the TEST over there in USA , am going for Undergraduate , please i need accurate answer for this question from someone competent .
Thanks so much in advance. Conditional Admission and TOEFL waiver means you are going to study English, your chances are not good. The key words are conditional and waiver you are going to spend a lot of money for that, if you present a very good bank account, then maybe. |

damola1, On the website they ask for originals or attested copies, if you don't have originals think of what to do, notarized letters that they are lost, police report, and evidence that you are trying to get replacements. |

damola1, I think you’re good to go, get your sponsor to write a letter to explain accommodation or whatever arrangement they have made. You are to submit originals (or attested copies) of all documents, plus one set of copies of same documents. You may need to prove your ties to Nigeria; i.e . . . . landed property, marriage cert, business registration etc. Good luck. |

If you have the right status and no hidden stories; you have no business with the US or Canadian embassies. By the way because "she refused to divorce" you is not an excuse, you file the papers first and meet in court. |

Working visas (H-1B, H-2A and H-2B) are tough to get the standards are higher; your chances are good if you are a skilled professional, like a doctor, nurse, pharmacist etc. Who is the visa for, you or her? Are you are professional? |
