Guys, I got a new application for tomorrow. I was earlier delayed 28th July and i dropped my transcript.. The school resumes on 17th. I am able to get a new date for 11th.
The issue is.. I am filling a new ds160. i was asked

"Have you ever been refused a U.S. Visa, or been refused admission to the United States, or withdrawn your application for admission at the port of entry?"

Explain?

Please what should i write

IT IS VERY URGENT (please you understand the capital letter)
God bless
Were you refused a U.S. Visa or asked to complete another application DS 160. if you were asked to complete another application only, that's not a refusal. your answer will be NO but if you were denied a visa and asked to to complete another application then your answer will be YES.

Please house,my confirmation number doesn't match with the confirmation no that is on my interview application letter. This is because i booked my appointment before filling the ds form and retrieved my application when i was filling the form How can i correct this mistake? Thanks
On the appointment website, try and change the old DS number to the new DS number. The system will not allow it but will ask you to send an email for assistance, do that and someone will respond to guide you through - all by email. You must have requested a new appointment without changing your previous DS number. In your email mention the old application ID and the new application ID (DS number). Good luck.

congrats to all the mum on this page for the successful stories of entering into the us and also for safe delivery of their babies. I have been reading this page for some weeks now and i must say that i have learnt a lot.I have a question as regards giving birth in the usa. I applied for us visa this year April to be precised i was granted the visa that of My Husband, myself and my toddler and how purpose filled in the form was to go for vacation. But our actually plan was to go and put to bed in the us. I wasn"t pregnant as at the time we went for the interview but now i am.So i like to know if there is need to write change of plans, when to mail the embassy cos i will be due next year by God's grace, from the tread i discovered that Texas is where to get reasonable hospitals. Please i need all the information's that i need before the Dday cos i like planning ahead of time. Please i need help.

Kind Regards
Your question was buried in the statement. It's not necessary to inform the embassy of your "new intentions", however there is no damage done if you just send an email to update the embassy of your status, and this will be proof for you just in case at POE. The most important thing is to have enough funds to cover your bills after giving birth. I believe you have a 2 yr multiple entry visa. You can send the email anytime before you travel, good luck and congratulations on your baby.

So for the delay of my Transcript
I had my visa interview on Monday August 03 at the Lagos Consulate.
After a very restless night, I got to the consulate at Walter Carrington at about 5:20am. My appointment was for 6:30am. I got into the Hall of Judgment by 7:30am. At this point, am so confidence about my interview question.

I was called to Window 12 around 8:00am. The VO was some middle-aged, white woman and the following conversation ensued:
Me: Good morning , happy New Month ma.
VO: Good morning. Place your left four fingers on the scanner.
Me: After the finger print.
VO: Where are u going too?
Me: Harold Washington College in Chicago.
VO: Who is your sponsor?
Me: My Aunt. She’s a clinical pharmacy at university of Chicago, medical center.
VO: which course do u want to study?
Me: I said Electrical Engineering.
VO: do u write any exam?
Me: Yes, I wrote SAT and TOEFL.
VO: What is your SAT score?
Me: I said 1210
VO: Why Harold Washington College?
Me: I was referred by Admission advisor at Illinois Institute of Technology(where I applied as a transfer student) I should complete my prerequisite course work at community college before transferring to Illinois Institute of Technology.
VO: Since you are already studying Electrical Engineering at Yaba Tech, why are you going to study in the US without finishing your program here?
Me: My program at Yaba Tech is a National Diploma and I wish to obtain my Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering in US.

She type for a while and she said I was not eligible for visa. I ask her that why, she said nothing. That I should reapply. I ask her again, what should bring when coming bck, she said I should go through the blue paper she gave me. I said thank you bye. I want to deferred my admission to spring 2016 (resume Jan 11) and planning to reapply for interview in october
Pls anything wrong? I will be happy to hear from u guys back. Tnks very much.
The VO logic was you should complete your ND which is same as community college.(why leave a program you're in, to start over the same program in US at a higher cost and for a longer period of time?) If you get your ND then you need to transfer to Illinois Institute of Technology for your BSc

Thanks everyone for your kind words... I am not interested in overstaying in the US, I am doing alright here by the grace of God. @ Anfanio. I think you are the one that may be lacking information here, although my parents are in status... its definitely going to take way more than five years if I request that they file for me. I am over 21 and definitely not going to remain single while the waiting last so that I will be given a VISA to the U.S. I will appreciate a reliable reference if you are still convinced you know more than I do. Thanks for your kind words again.
Here are the facts from your posts:
You are over 21
You are single
Your parents live in US
Your parents are in status
You have been denied visa once
Your sister lives in the US
You earn 220k a month (the VO thought a year) anytime you are asked how much you earn; give per annum figure interviewer will ask for clarification if necessary.
Everything you said during interview proved ties to US instead of Nigeria

Your assumption of filing process taking more than 5 years is wrong and you can definitely get married. Now if you don't mind answering some personal questions in a public forum, I'll tell you what to do.
Good luck

Hello House, Ithought this might help someone. I just got denied

VO:Good morning
me: Good morning ma'am (passed my passport)
VO: Where in the United States are you going?
Me: Newyork
VO: Why are you going to Newyork ( Wasn't really paying attention)
Me: Visiting my sister's family moreover my Dad has requested to see me..he is just recovered from an ailment ( this is the truth indicated on IV)
VO: Have you traveled out of Nigeria before
Me: No, I have not had to travel out
VO: Are you married?
Me: Still single
VO: Who is sponsoring you
Me: I am sponsoring myself
VO: How much do you earn
Me: 220k
VO: Do you have any other relative in the US
Me: My mum lives in the US too.
VO: Where in the US?
Me: Newyork
VO: (Types a bit more and hands me the dreaded blue paper) I am sorry you have not met the requirement for the grant of a tourist visa.
Me: With the hard face I have kept all along... just took the papers and moved out of the room..

I do not really want to start guessing what went wrong because she appeared quite sympathetic for turning me down... but that is just my brief observation...Hints on what to do differently if I want to try again during my next vacation is welcome
Lack of information, with your parents in the US you don't need a visitor visa, either of them can file for you and by your next vacation you should be ready to go, except if your parents are not in 'status'.

No, you must attend Middle Tennessee State for one semester before transferring to M. Tech. Your visa approval documents were based on MTSU

Hello good people. Pls what happens if someone gets a visiting visa on the platform to attend a wedding in the USA and after getting the visa , something comes up and the person is unable go attend that same wedding for which he got the 2 years visa. Can such individual not problem with the US or the people later in the future ? Can such person still use the visa later for visiting, will he not face issues at the poe ? Thanks
You can use it for later visits but primary reason for the visa is the wedding, try and use it for that purpose and avoid subsequent uncertainties. You are also asking these questions because if you are the immigration officer at POE you want to know why it was not used for the primary purpose. Acceptable reasons could be a serious personal medical issue or on immediate family member, death in the family, which can be proven with documents, and remember such documents from Nigeria are questionable. I won't bet on it, follow your original invitation timeline.

Please phoenix mums, for those who have used or who are using legacy suites, are there rooms with twin beds? How much and also please how much does a two bedroom suite inclusive of tax cost? How much do cabs cost from the airport to the hotel? Does anyone have the phone numbers of good cab guys I can use during my stay? I will be arriving in two weeks and I feel these are things I should know, please help. Thanks a lot.

Update on my dollar hunt: for those who stay in Benin city, I was able to buy from fcmb @201.2 Naira to a dollar although they only agreed to give me 7000dollars (used my details and that of my husband). Please if unable to get more with my mum's details can I use first bank Dormicilliary card(has anyone heard of this?)gtb master card or fidelity visa or master card for pos transactions? Shey I won't be charged extra?

Plenty questions please nor vex, I always like to be sure. Thank you so much everyone. Please let's try to maintain the love on this thread by avoiding prolonged quarrels because this thread keeps a lot of us informed and relaxes our hormones. God bless you all
legacy suites 2bdrm $329 + tax+ fees per week
http://www.legacysuitesphx.com/
Get a taxi from the airport should be less than $50 and don't use a particular cab driver for safety reasons - your hotel will have at least 2 or 3 cab company phone numbers they will give you- always call the company
You can use both domiciliary and naira cards - inform your bank/s about your trip - no charges for pos transactions, withdrawals carry transaction and bank fees/charges

A very quick question for the ouse
My intention is to cross over to another school when I get my visa with a high profile school in LA to a more cheaper one in maryland or Minnesota
I hav a degree in music from a university which I use for the admission process because of the good grade and to scale tru the process of gre and I also hav degree in computer science from a diff university with not so good grade but still able to secure admission, the truth is I nvr use my music degree in anyway and have been able to develop nd grow passion for the other one and I currently work for an ict firm
I want to knw if It possible to switch from one grad school to the other with entirely diff bsc profile from diff school
I mean from a sch in LA with my music bsc profile to a school in another state for masters in information technology with my other bsc degree in computer science
Changing college require the two colleges involved to work together, one releasing you to the other (paperwork). Failure to attend the university that issued your I-20 (or through which you got your visa) is effectively declaring yourself wanted to the authorities. Transfer is possible after one semester, it could be tricky with a masters program in general and particularly in your case changing from arts to science. Not impossible but more classes = more tuition fees/semesters, transcript evaluation for the IT ........

I had the kid last year and took a nigerian visa on his new US passport. I return a month after he was born. SO not sure If they can track him down if I do not mention him/name in the application.

Tks Tpia for conforting me. I have some plans of going for studies there next year, but look like i should not set high expectations

Tks all the guys/gals for taking time to share
A simple search will show everything. Apply, and be sincere in your answers, if you try to be deceptive it becomes more difficult. I believe your chances are still good.

Do you have documents to prove your business trips and can your US business contacts support your claim? If yes put as much information together about all of your visits in sequence and include your financial dealings from your first visit to the last. Did anything unusual happen during any of your trips that you can think off? It is also possible that something happened in the US that you are not aware off, like one of your contacts closing down and unknown to you.

Dear All

I am a nigerian which gave birth in the US using Medicaid (was told I qualified and that this would not lead to bad implications on my status) under my tourist visa.
Now I am renewing my visa and have an interview session with the visa officer. My worry is that the officer asks/discovers from their stats thtr I gave birth in the US and deny my application. Should I tell them my kid is US born under medicaid or should I hide this? I have not enrolled the baby as american locally so not sure they would know

Thanks in advance for sharing your views
What year did you have your child and when did you return to Nigeria?
Did you have your child endorsed on your passport or a Nigerian visa for the child?

@oyewolejos as earlier stated i run across people in the US who just got in and from gist some tell you how they got in but to be honest never asked them how they did it or even go into details with them as i consider that none of my business so maybe would have known some details.

@Vicjustice there is no need to get worked up over anything as i believe we are having an intellectual discuss and not an argument where the superior argument carries the day, there are no judges here.

First and this is very important, i have never encouraged anybody in real life let alone across the internet to pay for any kind of visa services as i have always believed in going to an embassy and legitimately applying for anything and if your papers and reasons are genuine then i see no reason why a visa should not be given to anybody, but our society have this defeatist attitude that everything has to be boought or paid for and that is why people are getting scammed.

Note, the only reason i ever added my ten cents to this conversation was because of the FINGER PRINT thing and what my cousin told me which does not necessarily transcends to giving anybody encouragement to pay for a visa service,i am not an agent and will never encourage or discourage anybody who plans on travelling in whatever way they deem fit.

Ironically, lets put it mildly that i work for the Govt and on something bordering on National Security and part of my job is to police the Border so i do not encourage people to run a foul of the law so will not encourage any one to break any immigration law. I WORK FOR THE LAW so should know better.
@justwise there is a possibility that i was lied to and i will not be that silly to argue or defend something i know nothing about. You do not know me so to come out and authoritatively say my story is made up is tantamount to calling me a liar.

Please do not call me a liar as you do not know me as that was uncalled for. All i said was what people told me and i have never authenticated their stories if its true or not and i did not call them liars or said they made up their stories.

Everybody has his story and i dont know in what country you reside in but if you reside in the US you will hear stories of people and how they entered this country and you will SHOUT its impossible, but yes they came in. Some stories you hear you will find it hard to believe and it is the MARK of an EDUCATED MAN to have an open mind to issues instead of the MENTALITY that everything you dont know about is a lie,you cannot know all.

I come here to read Nigeria news and stumbled on the travel section by mistake which makes interesting reading and have basically kept my opinions to myself.

Who ever wants to TRAVEL OUT should do the right thing by going to the embassy themselves.
You work for the law and you are encouraging the 'sale' of Diplomatic passport, now you understand why there is no respect for the Nigerian pasport or its carrier. With the help of people like you the Nigerian Diplomatic passport will soon be useless.

There is no limit on the total amount of money or monetary instruments that may be brought into or taken out of the United States. However, if you transport or cause to be transported, more than $10,000 in monetary instruments on any occasion into or out of the United States, or if you receive more than that amount, on behalf of someone else and then transport it, you must file a Customs Form 4790 with U.S. Customs. Failure to comply can result in civil and criminal penalties, including seizure of the currency or monetary instruments. Monetary instruments include U.S. or foreign coins, currency, traveler`s checks, money orders, and negotiable instruments or investment securities in bearer form are all considered when determining the total $10,000 reporting requirement.

Pay attention to areas in bold.

DV Program 2012: Review the information about Entry Status Check which is the ONLY means by which DV lottery winners/selectees will be notified of their selection for DV-2012. Additionally, Entry Status Check will provide successful selectees instructions on how to proceed with their application, and also notify you of the date and time of your immigrant visa appointment. The Kentucky Consular Center no longer mails notification letters and does not use email to notify DV entrants of their selection in the DV lottery. Review the DV Lottery 2012 Instructions "Selection of Applicants" section, which provides information about the DV process.

For All Successful DV Entrants: If you have been selected for further processing in the Diversity Visa program, after you receive instructions, you will need to demonstrate you are eligible for a diversity immigrant visa by successfully completing the next steps. When requested to do so by the Kentucky Consular Center, you will need to complete the immigrant visa application, submit required documents and forms, pay required fees, complete a medical examination, and be interviewed by a consular officer at the U.S. embassy or consulate to demonstrate you qualify for a diversity visa. Please note that the Kentucky Consular Center will provide application information either by mail (for DV-2011 selectees) or online through the Entry Status Check on the E-DV website www.dvlottery.state.gov (for DV-2012 selectees).
