lol!!! |
@ seun now i see that u are joking ![]() |
Bolarge:this is sooo true. y dont we then fight to regain our beloved country |
Seun:and ur point is? are u suggesting that students' exam scores be arbitrarily reduced? or that scores should be awarded to a possibly blank sheet (john dull's) pls help me understand. cos right now, u aint making the slightest sense. |
calm down guys, no need for insults. OBJ will leave Aso rock! that goes without saying. ![]() |
Big B1:i think the average nigerian will even be happy with #1,2,3 & 4 |
MAMAJAMA:kick back to open account? thats news to me. MAMAJAMA:i guess u meant hotel staff? happens more in america. MAMAJAMA:do u realise that people still die in nigeria from malaria! and child birth? Big B1:absolutely spot on. MAMAJAMA:u are talking of comfort. we are talking of survival MAMAJAMA:again we are talking of survival not luxury. and why should i be willing to pay tax when i do not recieve the services my tax is meant to pay for. besides a fraction of nigerians do pay tax. everyone in coporate employment has tax deducted at source. |
this i'm afraid is stating the obvious. |
laudate:no. neither does intolerance. the fact remains that they are reacting the only way they know how. not necessarily the right way. tell me something. if u had a rebellious child how would u handle him? kill him or show him love and hope that he sees reason. |
![]() my beloved country. i cant wait to see the back of OBJ and be rid of his crass utterances. but in any case, may we never see the likes of atiku, obj and many others again, AMEN!!! |
the reason y they carry so much cash and not use bank transfers is, u guessed right they dont want it traced! why would a coach be paid in cash? probably not a legitimate payment. ![]() |
@angel101: 1. Do you truly understand the real meaning of violence and what repercussion of violence could do to a country? If you do, please post your annotation and list the anticipations of your suggestion. 2. Do you understand that the outcome of violence is never predictable? 3. Did you vote and where do you currently reside? 4. Do you have any plans to participate or lead this violence crusade you're suggesting? Sweetheart, in order for me to profoundly understand your state of mind and effectively respond to your incredible suggestion, please answer these questions. Because it is very unusual to discover a sister running around promoting violence I look forward to reading your next post. Thanks. BigB1 if u indeed read my posts u would have seen the answers to these ur questions but i will try and answer them again. 1 i understand violence and the repercusion. i also understand that the people in power in nigeria are all cowards who would flee once they realise that it wont be an easy ride and so i believe that this is the medicine they require. or have u forgotten the buhari/idiagbon regime? 2 the outcome of violence is never predictable neither is the outcome of limbo 3 i currently reside in london and yes i did vote. 4 i am currently in the process of moving back to nigeria and so yes i will join in the struggle to return nigeria to nigerians. ( u were almost right on that) cheers |
@angel101 So what exactly are you suggesting that should happen between today and the weeks ahead other than rallying behind Yar Adua, but engaging his government to work towards reforming the electoral process and educating the electorate (and the politicians too)?
y do we have the mentality of 'this is my lot. i have to accept it'? we can protest thats what we can do. if yaradua came into power in a 'do or die' fashion what makes u think that u can 'engage' his govt to do anything? my analogy about illegitimate children stemmed directly from ur question about y the incoming govt was being called illegitimate. and besides where the father of the child might accept the child, the wife more often than not doesnt. ![]() no doubt illegitimate children may have made meaningful contributions but they are still illegitimate. |
Colonia:i compared nigeria to ghana cos u or someone else made a statement that violence has never worked in africa. what went down in ghana during the struggle cannot be more than nigerians have been and are still suffering today. dont take ur personal circumstance as a yard stick if i did that i wont need to complain at all afterall i have alternatives but why should we as a country consent to this unjust and unecessary suffering being handed us by the wicked ones in power? i do remember the influx of ghanians during their struggle but do u realise that the whole world has an influx of nigerians seeking economic refuge? no i am not sure wether or not what worked for ghana will work for us, but i am certain that the 'sit down look' attitude that we have used used for so long will NOT work! Colonia:these very questions being asked by the average nigerian is the reason why we are where we are today. it is why they govt know that they can do whatever and no one will have the courage to stand up to them. Colonia:y does it have to be so? if the people of the developed countries had this mind set, they will be in the same position as we are today. humans by nature are opportunistic and will take liberties if they are able to. |
kliverpool:soo true it is plagued by corruption and full of broken promises. if i am not mistaking (besides the social aspect) isnt it meant to be like an internship? how many corpers ever get retained by the govt parastatals? in my time as a corper, they even got rejected for the process (service year) all together. |
do we or rather they never learn?! |
LOL ![]() |
Mariory:from nigerian news on the election day |
i dont think its a matter of whose fault it is to be honest. what's wrong is wrong. afterall illegitimate children are called just that. its not their fault they are illegitimate is it? i'm cool o! how are u? |
whatever the case, let us treat them as they treat us. or do u not think our degree is worth more than say 3 Alevels? |
still it should not be condoned. we are trying to build a new nigeria abi? ![]() |
naijaway:i personally had no faith in OBJ from the onset so my only suprise is that people are suprised. look back at his previous attempt at leading and u will agree with me. he may have laid down some long term reforms as is being sold now to the people but even that is the action of an insensitive leader. after the decades of misrule and suffering under the military would it not have made sense to implement a few or even 1 policy that would affect the common man on the street? OBJ as far as i am concerned is good riddance to utter rubbish! i rest my case. |
and it took him how many years to uncover that? OBJ please go in peace or anyhow else! |
y dont we even start by saying they should be qualified (in anyway) for the jobs they get. |
2/3 of the country were unable to participate and u proudly call that an election? come on man. |
also allows him to be so insensitive and disrespectful in his speech? did u see the bold text at all? do u remember also when he called members of the legislature fools? the man certainly lacks decorum. humility is one of the qualities of a leader/public servant. |
adconline:WORD! |
His words: "We are not against Igbos; everything we did was with the best intentions. If we hurt people, on behalf of my 18000 staff, I do apologise. But given the same chance and circumstances, I’ll do it again and then apologise." is this man for real? who the f***k does he think he is? only in my beloved country can a public officer be so unapologetically arrogant. |
complete waste of time. i think it should end after the orientation. then we can say it is an opportunity to interact with people from diverse backgrounds, but beyond that, an absolute no brainer! |
who won the elections is not the issue but how it was conducted. @BigB1 when i say violence is the answer, i dont mean we should go about killing each other for the sake of some selfish politicians but for our own sakes and the sake of my unborn children. people are already needlessly getting killed everyday as a result of mis governance anyway, so my point is these lives should not be lost in vain something positive should come out of it. the developed nations of this world have been thru this same stages and came out the way they have cos they fought without which they would still be within the strong hold of their rulers. yes the families of these politicians have left the country but if they do return in a few months, it will be to find that power has changed hands if we do the right thing which is to fight for our right. working together with yaradua towards a common goal wil no doubt be the answer if only it will happen. i think it is rather arrogant to say that we should all follow u to support yaradua and his govt simply becos u are confident that he will not dissappoint. is it all about u then? u say there is a bright light at the end of the tunnel. i agree, we must go thru the tunnel though to reach the bright light. yes the UK and US are supporting yaradua. do u think its becos they love him or the country? guess again. just like they went to find weapons of mass destruction in iraq! @IykeD our lack of sincere leaders can only change if we take drastic action @Imani there's no point having a go at me cos i am posting from london as i see u are in the UK as well. doesnt prevent me from airing my views about MY country. and anyway i got off my ass and went to nigeria for the elections. yes i did! @colonial did Ghana not settle their issues by violence? |
first off, it is very condescending to say that if resource control is given to the ND it will be mismanaged. whose place is it to judge that? in any case i dont see a better job being done now. one poster thinks the FG should monitor the achievements of the states and then according to perfomance increase the percentage of control given. lame argument if u ask me. are u proposing some sort of big brother state? ok at the moment, the militants are pointing fingers at th FG and kidnapping people cos they think they are being unfairly treated. why dont we give them control of their God given resources and let them pay taxes to the centre. the FG can then decide to give kano state 10% of what they get. and then when the ND leaders mess up like nigeria thinks they will, who will the militants direct their anger towards? yes the people in control who will then be the Alams of that time. then justice can truly be done. |
