Big B1: Omo Ibadan, kini show?
Ibadan, Oyo state happens to be one of my favorite cities in Nigeria and it disturbs me mentally or emotionally to see what is going on in Ibadan today and to know that there will never be peace in this city for at least the next 4 years.
It is very sad; because things did not have to go down this way. OBJ had opportunities and power to resolve this calamity by permanently disabling Adedibu and also by sending Akala back to school for his secondary school certificate.
But as usual, OBJ has his ridiculous and vindictive ways. He wanted to teach some folks some lesson, therefore he ignored the devils and allowed my favorite city to continue to crumble into a war zone .
It doesn't look pleasant out there at-all and it extremely disheartening to know that this mess will last for many many years to come. I truly feel that OBJ has sold the prosperity and peace of Ibadan people at a cheap price to his personal agenda. y dont we just rally around Akala and move on for the sake of peace i hope u are not attempting to use double standards here o |

you must 1st identify the problem then you can tackle the issues. you can't kill 2 birds with 1 stone unless you be TARZAN

awoof: anybody asking people to go out and demonstrate on May 29the is not realistic. Do you mean the govt will stop the ceremony because of that? No one is saying if people feel aggrieved they should not voice it, but the usual fear is that area boys, bandaras and almajeris will take over such and unleash mayhem on even their fellow aggrieved Nigerians and my very "radically minded" Nigerians who think they are the worst hit by the last elections malpractices will want any responsible govt to fold its arms and allow law and order to break down completely. Like @haywhy rightly said we all have a hand in whatever is wrong with that country today. Can anybody convince me that there were no malpracices in those states won by the opposition parties? The problem is that most vociferous critics and analysts are not attacking the election because of altruism, most of you are bloody supporters of the two most unlikely presidents that "will never be"; A tiku (we don die) and that rascally 419 Orjie who does not even have respect for Igbo elders not to talk of a Ngbatingbati man.
@ebos continue to wallow in ignorance and self delusion that the Niger delta criminals are unassailable, its just that their cup of iniquity is not yet full. OBJ that was and still pampering them knows what he is doing, you do not make war the first option, the whole world is watching how he has been tolerating their crass criminality so that when the Nigerian military descends on them people like Bush et al will just turn their face to the other side. maybe you were far away from Lagos on that terrible day that Ikeja Cantonment was on fire. If you had heard one of those 4 terrible explosions (among thousands others) late that evening you will know that a band of criminals bearing AK 47, RPG and GPMG machine guns cannot defeat the Nigerian military, like i said their cup is not yet full. se finis u seem to have totally missed the point. for me it is nothing personal. it is not about the individuals but the process. just listen to urself and how u condemn the people of the niger delta. if they are indeed criminals, is it not right to also say that they have been turned so by the govt. what do u mean by obasanjo has been tolerating or pampering them or whatever. have u ever been cheated out of what is rightly yours and still got punished? maybe we should begin to put ourselves in the shoes of this people before we reign insults on them. afterall u or even obasanjo are not more nigerian than the people of the niger delta or anyone else for that matter. do not be decieved the western world will never turn their back when the calamity starts cos they have vested interest in the oil from the niger delta. as a matter of fact, i believe obasanjo is pampering the niger delta people (according to u) because he has been instructed to do so by the same western governments. |

Backslider: @ Big1
I remove my cap for you I must commend you and your Patriotism. You must know that our people like to hear from outside.
Our mentality is such that we must hear from outside and I appreciate your position that we must say our own news. But our people love to condem our own people.
I had a discussion in Ghana with a black American and immediately I had a clear mentality of how the Negroid thinks of his own people. I don't blame her I blame the negative publicity supported by the neo colonial Journalist she must have been polluted with the fact that we are doomed to backwardness.
Just read the post in the political section you will see the millions of negative comments about the black race from the mouth a black race.
Imagine a black man can call his brother Niger for minutes and make into a cassette and sell it for people to buy but the White man can never call the black man Niger.
We have a problem Yes
They also have a problem
In our case we don't have Patriots that are Journalist we don't have CORE people that will defend the African even if they have not eaten.
We don't Have BBC WE don't have CNN etc.
I have lived in singapore where the Europeans were made to look like Villagers when they were about to board a train. If i had a camera I could film them and use that as a propaganda.
ONE THING WE MUST KNOW THAT THE FOREIGN NEWS MEDIA IS A BIG MILITARY WEAPON AND THE AIM IS TO FIGHT AND IMPLANT IN THE MINDS OF THE LISTENER THAT THEY ARE ON TOP OF EVERY SITUATION.
ONCE THEY ARE ABLE TO SHOW THAT THEY ARE "UNBIASED" YOU WILL BELIEVE ALL THEY SAY. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO QUESTION THEM AND THINK THEY ARE 100% CORRECT.
THE BBC IS A HIGH SPYING BODY AND IT USED FOR PROPAGANDA.
LET ME GIVE YOU AN EXAMPLE
LOOK AT MUGABE
ONLY 4500 WHITE FARMERS OWN THE LAND IN ZIMBABWE. EVEN IF MUGABE IS A BAD MAN LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENED.
WHEN HE DECIDED THAT THE LAND WILL GO TO THE BLACK PEOPLE OF ZIMBABWE IS THAT NOT WHEN HIS "BADNESS" CAME OUT?
WHICH MEDIA BROUGHT IT OUT?
LET US LOOK AT WHAT THE CATHOLIC RADIO DID TO RWANDA 800,000 PEOPLE WERE SLAUGHTERED.
4 million people have died because of the war in Congo tell me how it started. Patrice Lumumba was killed and they brought in a man like Mobutu.
They want us to feel that we can't rule ourselves and they were right to colonize. we should give ourselves a chance. If you look back They White people did not colonise immediately they saw us.
If you look at the political structure in Nigeria you see that Some "yoruba" based people Criticised OBJ and as a result We had a government that was less tribal. But this could be used by some people that the Yorubas are incompetent.
EVERY NEWS HAS ITS DUAL NATURE. IT CAN BE A WEAPON OR A HELP.
The news the American posted is GOOD NEWS TO PEOPLE THAT WANT TO STAY IN AMERICA AND WANT TO BE PAID SLAVE WAGES
It is good propaganda news to people that want to invest in Nigeria because it gives them bargaining power to let you feel that your country is not worth investing in.
It is "good news" to the NIGERIAN also because we can see the problem and solve it.
We need to have our own news media that can OBJECTIVE CRITICIZE OUR OWN CITIES AND THE GOVERNMENT WILL HEAR ACT.
THE GOVERNMENT MUST SET UP NIGERIAN INTERNATIONAL NEWS AGENCIES TO COUNTER THIS WAR IN THE MEDIA. pure fantasies! the truth is bitter my brother. |

@ BigB1
The rigging will stop as soon as we peacefully rise up together and identify, implement and execute an effective strategy to empower the election process and educate the voters through out the country. And we, the new generation could utilize this latest failure as a lesson and send message to the old school that enough is enough, we must change direction. And this could be done sensibly, professionally, peacefully and finally, at the right time.
and the million dollar question is how. u have only suggested a scenario. how do u intend to actualize it? |

@ colonia how are we nigerians made differently by God? when will we be ready? u have said that maybe we should have started this crusade during abach and ibb's regime. ok so we did not. if we push it aside now, when will we ever take action? i did vote but who i voted for or who won is really not the point here. the criminal process is. u are right i am not happy about the state of affairs in nigeria and i in my own little way always play my own part. e.g i never bribe immigration or police people ever. it is of course frustrating when u come home and witness the total decay in the system this is the very reason why we have to fight to make it right. u ask who would be the president if this guy is not allowed. each time i hear this question which is often asked about different people (even abacha) it just amuses me. do u mean to tell me that if yaradua became president and he suddenly drops dead nigeria will close shop? yes nigeria is definitely bigger than ghana and complex and all that. that is y whoever is going for the first office should know what they are doing. they cant adopt a 'do or die' attitude, ridiculously rigg the elections only to get there and tell us that the governance of nigeria is too complex. did they expect a tea party or something? the excellent leadership skills that we require is excatly what is wanting in these clowns. an excellent leader certainly will not want to lead me do or die! the developed countries have laws that they follow becuse it has been enforced. u have infact said it urself. if the authorities get hold of them they surely pay for their crimes. can the same be said about nigeria? and yet we are meant to just accept whatever we get and move on in the name of peace. i dont see, sense or feel any peace in nigeria. do u? When we are all united we can actually PARALYSE the government and they will definitely feel it, without anybody getting killedu have said it all my dear. |

angel101: not true. they demonstrate but peacefully. lol after the last fuel increase here in the UK there was a demonstration where truck drivers took over the M1 (i think) and caused severe trffic by driving too slowly ebos: I tell you, in Nigeria, demonstrate peacefully and more will lose their lives, police, army will shoot you, but if you are well armed and go for violence, Nigerian Government will tell you keeping quiet does not mean weak. How many Niger Delta Militants have lost their lives since their violent struggle for equity? Least number. The story would have been different if they had engaged on peaceful demonstration. Nigerian government always show power if you are not well armed. So, I have come to realize that the only language Nigerian government understands is arm struggle. i totally agree |
