Elai147: Different strokes for different folks. As far as I’m concerned, it will depend on what the chart is telling you at that particular period. However, you bet a lot of people will sell @4.50 since there was a previous resistance around that price. If the bull is strong enough you could sell above N5. If you're a short term investor I advise you to study Technical Analysis very well so that you can know when to buy and when to sell instead of guessing and selling because others are selling. Above 5Naira will be in April................... |

Imagine Fbnh @ 3.5 ..is possible You should know is the market makers that are pulling the price back............So many offers..........These offers need to die down before the price can stabilize.......But at 3.50 means most banking stocks will be depressed............... |

locodemy: when skye bank was #4.00,people were entering as if it will go to #7.00 soonest, what happened........the stock crashed to 3.15.At #3.00,it was as if you dont have skye bank in your portfolio, you have not started investment.girigirigirigi.........the stock is now #1.70 .pls i will advice you guys to stay away from this stock. This bank chairman brought #2 billion to support GEJ in his presidential election and the present government has kept their eyes on them. For now,all is not well with them.they will soon come to raise money and that is not good news to shareholders. It is a very long term stock. No sign of good dividend till 2017/18.Are you ready to tie down your money in a bank that bought a bank bigger than it then go and ask the one that bought intercontinental over 4 years ago what stress they passed through.
For me,i will be interested to buy at #1.20.if it cant come down to #1.20 then i seek the way of fidelity with much anticipation.
Good time to begin the purchases should be from 20th of next month to 1st week of january.if you fail to accumulate as much as you can,you may miss the good buses and will be left to enter bad buses.i hope someone understand what i mean. Sorry your analysis is currently irrelevant...........We have heard all the hypothesis above previously and Skye made money for some folks like four times this year alone with all the negative news.................I witness the negative news several times but still the stock made 40% profit within a week for some traders.............The rule is to analyze the negative news and make money with it...............I learned that the board of Skye has shifted the idea of raising more funds due to the present condition of the market which is a smart move..............I think a short term position in Skye won't be a bad move since they will release their result for end of the year by January................Most banking stock will move speedily at this time but for now expect sluggish movement................ |

zendi: I had been jumping in and and out of skye thinking that the combination with mainstreet would boost Q3 result. But when the result came out and no comet was seen, I sold off all my skye to flee from the dilution and reconstruction that will come with capital raising. Smart move but I think the management of that bank has a way to escape the hammer every time their bank is in a bad situation.............I think buying towards the release of their next result will worth it............... |

Elai147: All of dem don enter stock market fully since yields on fixed income securities are low. At least, this will increase the probability of our December bull expectation. True but they supposed to buy higher than that if not their access to manipulation............... |

Elai147: He he he... This is really interesting. Who we go believe na? Deceptive CBN or the rumours? This reminds me of the Great Oceanic Bank, and bank PHB: I am sure the CBN did not warn investors or advise them to run for their lives. Those expecting CBN to raise a red flag may be on a long thing. The only advice I have for long term investors is to restrict their exposure to this sector to only fundamentally sound stocks. It is okay to trade with them but we should not be over-exposed (long term) to this sector or any particular sector in the NSE.
Another interesting part:
Dem no dey tell blind man say market don close.
Caveat: This is a Tumbutumbu analysis. Follow it at your own peril The article with prejudice or negative intention implies there are no fundamentally sound banking stocks on our bourse................... |

myjoy084: Sir, i understand your points but how many banks do we have in Nigeria that are functioning presently? If the article or the writer's claim to what was writtenwas true, so the likes of Zenith, GTbank, Access, etc. are in distress then lol. I can't stop laughing when it comes to Nigerian/foreign reporters/journalists reference to Nigeria economy and financial institutions! I guess they are caught unaware by CBN interest rates cut though! Too much over-sabi...lol. There attempts were curb when it comes to devaluation of Naira, and now they are looking for another excuses to prove their point... Its not the first time they tried to de-market Skye bank...........It happened early this year and what happened after their quarter result was out,the stock was green with 32% increase within 3days....................Most of this journalism is with motivation............You will understand when you read it and the prejudice which is unethical in journalism is just too much.............If this report is true,I expect the stock to be like 70k by now but even at 1.72,Skye is still trading 10k higher than its year low...........With the change in time come a different dynamics in Nigerian economy and no one seems to understand anything anymore..............I believe whatever the problem of skye is their management will resolve it.................After buying most of the fundamentally sound stocks at ridiculous low price,I believe is time to be patient............The only people setting the stock backward is the late comers trying to jump in...........I believe December will usher in a better trading pattern............. |
