Just want to do something about the itchy fingers. smiley

Lol! It's just a matter of entring at a good price for a fundamentally sound stock and patience, knowing that your stock investment is not just iinvesment of days or weeks.

Remember that any loss you make is just a paper loss until you decide to sell. BTW, it's like the lower commission charged by Morgan capital can encourage itchy fingers, are you sure you won't open an alternative account with a broker like meristem maybe their high commission will instill the discipline of jumping from one stock to the other and regret later lol!

Agric business in Nigeria is a tough one, to be successful in that space will take time.......

You are right, it also takes the God-factor and goodluck to be successful in Agriculture/ farming in Nigeria especially in the area of factors out of your control like natural disaster and man-made disaster.

That was how I & my business partner lost over 5M naira worth of resources in farming rice in the middle-belt over 2 years ago. Everything was going on well as planned, we were already harvesting the rice when Fulani herdsmen struck, killed one of our workers and destroyed all the yet to be harvested rice and looted the already harvested ones.

As far as farming is concerned in this country, count me out because the risk involved is too high. Let me focus on my job and invest in other things that I have some level of control over.

Thanks a lot.

Morgan capital is very user friendly but I just don't think it will be wise to have two trading accounts with them.

Thank God! Left for Chelsea F.C, this player would have set a record as the only player that retired on loan and never to have featured for his parent club.

I was actually hoping he doesn't retire on loan from Chelsea. Chelsea seriously need to review their youth and system.

This country still has a long way to go in the area of mgt of resources. The cost of governance in this country is too high.

This practice has been happening for a long time and these are some of the typical corruption cases in government that the president Buhari administration should be fighting.

I was amazed at the ridiculous prices someone I know bought laptops and generator sets used just two weeks after the just concluded general election in March and trust me, new overbloated budget will be made for these same items and other items like cars, TV, chairs in the election that will take place in four years time.

What a wastage, I weep for this country!

Madam its nice reading for you. We dey o. Happy Sunday to you too. I believed you're doing great!

You were right @ the bolded.

This particular woman I mentioned hardly picks the guy's calls again. Now the finance house left her to be pursing the guarantor up and down. Can you imagine how manipulative some human being could be!

Just zero your mind that the person might end up not paying the money back.
When they needed your favour they behave like angels but as soon as its gotten, they became something else; they'll start avoiding you or might even fight you so wouldnt be free to ask them again.

However, having such experience in the past, you should have been more careful in your dealings with the other closed friends. Although its understandable why you did it in the first place, they only chose to be ingrates. We keep learning each day. It's well dear sister.

I am doing great by God's grace. Thanks.

God will help us. May our good not turn to sorrow for us in Jesus name. It's well my sister.

I think these microfinance houses needs to come up with better conditions with which they can grant loans to people seeking such.
What happens to the person having collateral that's worth the loan amount in the first place?
That was how one woman approached her neighbour to stand as surety for her in one finance house (not Lapo or in Oyo State) with the agreement to pay back within three months. This is a woman that's not working but relying only on the 'struggling' husband to pay back.
The neighbour out of closeness to the woman went ahead and stood as guarantor.
6 months passed already no payment, they were now on his neck and his job is under serious threat now.
Don't know why some just like to frustrate their benefactor.

Collecting loans from banks or microfinance banks without having a good established investment that gives excellent profit is like signing a death sentence because their interest rate is too exorbitant i.e, 20-25%. Cooperative society loans of 8-12% looks more considerate for a profit investment.

The problem is that, most Nigerians that borrow money or collect loans, be it from banks or friends/family don't calculate and plan the future implications of such loans on their investments as well as the realistic feasibility of repayment, hence, we see a lot of inability to pay back loan or borrowed money.

Concerning the story you shared, humans are generally deceptive and manipulative when it comes to seeking financial assistance from close friends/loved ones and repaying such money. I am praying for God to give me wisdom and a nonemotional heart in the area of borrowing money or standing as a surety for close friend s and loved ones. I have over 2M that I borrowed to such persons for which paying me back has become problem for years now. Imagine the profit I would have made if I invested it in fixed income assets.

Even the close friends I stood as guarantor for both this year and two years ago disappointed me. One has to be more careful these days when dealing with financial situations with friends and family members so as to avoid unnecessary pressure and frustration in life just because you're trying to assist.

BTW, how's life with you and the NSE favour season? Happy Sunday madam!.

Good day all

Please I've someone (Uncle) who works with an agency, he wants to loan me 2-3m for me to start up life, but I must pay back the money in 1year.

The problem now is I don't know the kind of business to start with 2m that can grow faster that I will be able to pay back the money, I'm thinking of doing working visa to outside country to go and work (I'm not a graduate) I've been so confused like I don't even know what to do again, because this opportunity came by sudden to me last week after I told him I want to do something for my life but I don't have capital to start

Please I need suggestions is it good to start business here in Nigeria?

Should I travel out to work if yes which country please

I'm in my early twenties please and remember any suggestion you will make, remember I've to pay back the money on 12months

The option of travelling out of the country should not be an option for you since it's a borrowed money.

First of all, look at your immediate environment and identify a consumption need you can meet with a business. I'll also advice that you diversify your investment and also invest in finished agricultural products like storing palmoil now that it's cheap and sell when it becomes expensive.

I have been thinking of the shortest way possible to say this so let me try.

To those saying we are digressing here and people are showing off their net worth, please you are wrong. As someone who came on board when this page was still at 300 and read pretty much 100 pages, and never missed a page from 300 till the current page, I can confidently say that I haven't noticed anyone mention figures here when it wasn't absolutely necessary and related to the topic. Sometimes it is good to mention figures in order to get people motivated (I would give examples but I want to keep this short). Edit: on second thoughts, for example when I said my father with over 4 billion Naira still works, it wasn't to brag on a faceless forum. Rather it was to motivate that young man that 1.7m is not enough reason to get unmotivated to work

I think the people who get mad here are people who feel they cannot comment the same thing and mean it. For example, when Ahiboilandgas comments about his trucks, I wanna say "abeg go sit down everytime truck truck". But instead, I get motivated and tell myself that someday I might be able to brag like him (note that I am not saying he brags. Please read this with a mature mind).

Anyways my point is, rather than hate on people here for commenting and trying to inspire you, let their successes inspire and motivate you to get up at 4am like I did this morning.

You don't need to explain yourself, the example you sited to that young man on your dads work passion was just a perfect answer he needed to motivate him. I wanted to reply him writing an epistle on self motivation and setting financial goals in life until I saw your perfect answer to him.

I think there is a need for us in this forum to use our discretion to differentiate an honest opinion from an otherwise one. I am sure the corper you were addressing got the message. The truth is that such comment cannot be a digression from T.B discussion but rather a motivation to never be satisfied with our achievement in life but always strive higher. Thanks.
