koonleh: thank you for ur reply, i appreciate. i was on the opinion that since this is an just for my career, perhaps they dont have a pgd in culinary management. i understnd your point, but this is my career progression (my thought.) although i also got an offer for 1 year graduate certificate in hospitality and tourism, which has limited relation to my career, should i go for this? There are PGD courses related to culinary available . you need to search .. I believe there's one at centinnial college already pointed out.. PGC in Food Tourism (Culinary Tourism) @ Centennial College, Ontario PGC in Food Media @ Centennial College, Ontario Thats the best route you should follow and best route with higher chances of visa approval |

koonleh: Pls I want u all to help me analyse this situation before applying/ paying sch fees after getting admission
A single mother of 2, (4&6 years), bsc sociology 2011, 30yrs of age, career as a chef since after NYSC, got admission for 2 yrs diploma in culinary management. I just concluded 6 mth training in a chef sch, I also just opened a company registered with CAC for my chef sch and other things like poultry
I want to apply with the kids cuz dnt want to leave them alone, but I heard leaving them behind can be like home ties or take the youngest one. If I leave them, their father can come US to pick them or rather stay until they can visit me
Pls the house advice on this, and with my company and self sponsorship with 2 landed property in my name, what are the others things that Can guarantee financial stability.
Thank u so much. Lemme be honest with you ... diploma Thats a problem.. You might get denied with the reason "purpose of visit". The VO will wonder why arr you going for a diploma when you have BSC or HND (where is the progression there). why not a PGD. I would advise you go for a PGD in culinary management. |

Ifesinachi22: Please house advice me please.
I'm writing my SOP presently. Meanwhile, I have a HND in Dental Therapy and want to study Dentistry in Canada. The Dental schools i wrote to said i should take a Pre Dentistry degree in the sciences to have a sound Science background before Dental school. I applied for a Pre Dental Associate Degree in Biology and was accepted.
Coming to the SOP.
Which degree I'm going to write on? The biology I'm going for or the Dental school which is my speciality that I'm going to transfer my credits to? Please answers are needed urgently.
God bless us all Have you been accepted into the dental school, from your post, No you haven't so your sop should be on biology. Try to link dentistry with biology to prove that there's a reason why you are starting with biology before proceeding to dental school. also let the VO know about the prerequisites of doing dentistry which is why u are going for the biology course. It will end in praise |

otunbanimi: Thanks for this.
But, ain’t they doing the two (eligibility stage and background check)simultaneously ?
I can see that the background check is reading “we are processing your background check” Most times , its done one after the other .. Its on very very few occasions that it happens to be done simultaneously. They are basically checking if you have a travel history ,criminal history both here and abroad .. That doesn't take much time . |

I asked something like this earlier on concerning omitting a document and sending it to them, I got an answer which is After submitting your application online you can’t add any other document or send to them unless they require it from you they would contact you. Keep your head high have hope and pray it would end well best regards Don't wait for them to ask .. You are only able to send across after your biometrics. You can send via webform or email. |

frostfr89: Hello ,
Does this means the upfront medicals won't give a full visibility till the process is complete
and is the up-front a wrong step to take rather than just wait to be sent a mail for medicals?
thanks It means if u did upfront medicals and you get passport request, then your application is 90% sure of approval . if you didn't do upfront and just applied and later on IRCC sends you a mail to do medicals , your application is 90% sure of approval. |

neverlosehope: Good day All,
I will like to encourage sometime with a little about my story. I graduated from a Nigerian university with a second-class lower division degree in STEM at 24 years and finished NYSC at 25 years. Unfortunately, as peculiar with Nigerian environmental, I got my first job at 28 years after 4 years in the wilderness. The delay in getting a job was my mediocre degree (i.e., finishing with 2.2) and lack of working experience at 25 years (how will I get the necessary work experience when I have never been employed).
Fast forward to a decade later, after working for over a decade, got frustrated with Nigeria society placing a limited to what you can achieve, I decide to make a change to my family situation by returning to school in US/Canada. Initially, there were few obstacles, I got admitted into a fully-funded master’s degree program in the US with an average stipend by God’s grace. I left the shore or Nigeria with my entire family and started the program at 40 years. I graduated with a master’s degree with a GPA of 3.56/4.0 at 42 years. Fortunately, I was admitted into a fully-funded Ph.D. program in Canada’s top university with a very generous stipend and started the program at 42 years. I have currently completed the program required coursework with a GPA of 4.0/4.0, passed candidacy exam, five publications, and 3 manuscripts under review in top peer-review journals.
What is my point? Despite where you might have started from, the environment you live might not be favorable to you, age or family commitments might be barriers. However, do not give up, please hold on to your dream. The grace of God will see you through. If you quit today, you have failed tomorrow.
Please note My story is not unique; I have seen many tremendous journeys of beautiful people who do not quit/give up and achieved great heights. I am sharing my story to encourage you that no barrier is big or strong enough to stop you from achieving your dream.
I hope to challenge someone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you very much pls.. This is wat we should endeavour to share and not place your own fears on others with all this "don't apply for your visa cos of so so and so", if you dont want to apply, dont apply, only advise on what you feel is going on and not enforcing your own fears on others to follow suit. This brother faced challenges ,am even surprised he got funded with his 2.2, thats pure belief in yourself and utter trust in GOD. If you want to stop chasing your dreams and base your trust on a data and not believing in GOD cos a data shows 80% Nigerians are getting denied, pls go ahead but don't make others do the same. What about the 20%, are they aliens?.. Thanks bro for the uplifting testimony. |
