Has anyone received MEDICAL request without Biometrics recently ?
Impossible... unless the person has done biometrics in the last 10yrs..other than that, it's not possible to get medical request without a biometrics. Without a biometrics, your application won't be attended to

My Bachelors degree correlates perfectly with the program i want to study. I can show all the proofs of sources of funds, everything. I am just bothered if its sane to sponsor myself. If self sponsoring has ever gotten anyone a study permit.

Will they be bothered about why digital marketing has been my source of income and not a job related to what i want to go and study. By the way, i finished serving last year.
Okay.. then you are good to go.. people here who are self sponsored have been getting approvals. I think u shouldn't let the VO know your job is different from your field of study it might reduce your chances

Hello Nairalanders,

Please I will need to get more clarifications on the best way to approach this.

I applied for a diploma course in a Canadian college and I got an email from them for me to pay $500CD before 20th of June so I can get my LOA (Letter Of Acceptance) from the school to enable me apply for visa.

I have engaged a travel agent to help me with the study visa application but he asked if I have traveled before and I said no.

To my greatest surprised, he said I can't get the Visa if I don't have travel history.

My question now is, what's the best way for me to approach this?.. I don't want to pay the $500CD and my visa get denied.

Please fellow Nairalanders advice me on the best way to go about it. I'm ready to pay the $500CD but want to be sure I will get the Visa.

NB: For the records, I have HND and I'm 32 years
LOL
Please ignore all this frauds called travel agent.. nobody on earth can tell u authoritatively you can't get a visa you haven't applied for yet.. pls check your mail

As for the bolded, why go for a diploma when you can go for a PGD/PGC.

I run Niche site marketing and review of Amazon products. I was admitted to study kinesiology
Where the problem lies is, how do u relate your bsc to your intended masters program. That's the main huddle cos your current work experience does tally with your intended course.. you need to work hard on your sop to show how genuine you are to be able to get funding as well.

Hello house, please I need your help for some questions I have . Thanks for the continuation of this thread, I’ve been looking for it.
-plZ does anyone have a link where I can get information on how to go about paper route application? Are we to submit passports or wait for it to be requested.
-Also, if a masters degree tuition in a school for two years is about $15k CAD will POF of 20M suffice ?
-I’ve read on this thread that FD and treasury bills are acceptable POF .. is a FD of 4 months okay?
-when applying for study visa, Can I also add my spouse’s statement of account or its better to move everything to one account
-I’ve read on this thread that it is advisable for a student who has a family to go first, use them as strong family ties and apply for them on getting there. If I want to apply for my whole family, wife and two kids ... will my employment in an oil and gas industry suffice as strong ties? .
- my wife’s mum also has lands worth lots of millions ..is there a way to prove that she’s the custodian of those lands and therefore has to be back to the country. (Strong ties)

Thanks a lot people. God bless you
1) Why go for paper route wen you can use the online, not saying paper route is bad but online is better and saves you the risk of carrying paper and misplacing essential docs important to you. My 2kobo, online is better cos it gives you the opportunity to monitor your application progress.

2) Yes 20m or more is fine. You can use a FD of 4months and your spouse can be a co-sponsor meaning he or she can include their own POF.. u dont need to move money to an account.

3) it's advisable to go first and den later apply for your family.. your employment later can't serve as a strong home tie but your property or other family members can stand as one

4) deed of ownership

Hello house, I have a friend who has been worried about how to provide his proof of fund documents. He's 28 years, married and due to financial constraints was keen to source for funds. He was able to secure admission for PhD with funding from his supervisor that covers all his expenses including tuition and still has change. He also got another scholarship from faculty and this equally covers all expenses and tuition so he's left with enough money after offsetting all bills.
Note: the funding letter issued to him by the supervisor came from a well known Research Lab and was told to apply for study permit with the letter.

Question: He doesn't have another proof of fund. Can the two documents serve as his proof of funding. Please he needs a reply. Thank you very much all
No the letter is proof that his entire tuition expenditure is covered but not living expenses, rent or flight ticket to state the least.
He should have at least $10,000 or more to cover other miscellaneous expenses. The possibility of getting visa is looking bright here but can be denied of he submits without money showing he can feed himself..
Another question, what about the family he leaves behind, what provisions has been made to cater for the wife and possibly kids. I ask cos the applicant will state he is married..

Good day to the elders in the forum.

I got my acceptance letter from MEMORIAL UNIVERSITY OF NEWFOUNDLAND yesterday to study a 2yrs masters program.

The Tuition fees is $9,666, and i got a funding of $5,000 per annum, which is expected to cover my tuition for the 2 years.

Now here is my bone of contention. I am planning to sponsor myself and i have 2 major questions:

1) I have been self employed since 2019, but i work as a freelancer (which does not relate with my admitted program of study). How will i present myself as my sponsor without implicating myself?

2) How much will be needed to show the availability of proof of funding?

All response will be truly appreciated... Thanks
1) What's your intended course and your area of freelance

2) Although nobody can tell you exactly how much, but you need to show school fees Balance of $4,666 + 10,000 for living expenses and miscellaneous expenses for flight and other possible expenses( rent).
So basically, u should show a balance for $20,000 since you are self-sponsored cos once you leave naija, no hope of money coming from u except from family.

Pls richad don't adhere to this advise, don't state anything on your form asthma is a kind of sickness that goes along with management, it is not that scary as people see it all you need is how to take care of your self and avoid being in a place that can trigger it on, and declaring it on your form will get the VO biased about your health condition, I have so many of my friends studying abroad at cold regions, Canada, America and Europe that are asthmatic and they are doing very fine looking so plumpy and healthy you need to see these guys photos, you need to change environment and it might even help you, just wear your sweater and carry your inhaler always but don't be surprised that you will be fine and may not have attacks as you use to, always pray to God for good health and guidance and you will be fine.

And never declare that on your form as it is never a barrier except you want it to be for you! You know, " what you believe in is what happens to you! " there is no two ways about it, change your mindset or stop listening to people and follow your own instincts! and for the records the bolded isn't declared as a health threatening situation on CIC website and for more clearer insight you can check on GCMS websites make google your friend, there you will see the type of sickness listed as threatening and financially demanding as the government of canada don't want any liability especially in the area of health situation, so my brother you are good to go.

Let us be properly guided.
All the best.
Lol.... I didn't say it's a barrier
I didn't say he will be denied
All I said was, he should declare it even if it's not on their website.. Bro, are u saying a woman that is pregnant shouldn't declare her pregnancy mind you, this is not a health conditions o
Again, reading your reply.. you didn't help us by asking your friends if they declared it cos that's our bone of contention here?

During your medical examination, they will ask u if u have a health condition.. the cic medical request form will even ask you if u have any.
Like you advised, he should follow instincts... I rest my case on this..

We also got the GCMS notes. The summary is as follows:

I have reviewed the application based on the financial documents submitted. I am not satisfied the applicant has sufficient funds to pay the fees, living expenses and transportation costs. For the above reasons above, I have refused the application.

Note, we already paid part of the fees amounting to about 20,000$CAD
I can say for the bolded, the VO just needed to see simple application that was straightforward.. All you needed was your personal account statement. Imagine the whole gcms note showed the reason was centred on finances only, that means the VO probably got tired of seeing multiple docs just to prove you have money.. he or she might lose track of verifying and just tick "application refused"
check your mail..

So pls just make the re-application simple.. cos honestly you have the funds to cater for all those listed requirements.

Do you think one year isn't enough for immigration?
The answer lies in the last post you just re-edited now... the guy gave you two scenarios, if your plan is to study and come back, 1yr is ideal, program is the way forward... if you start with a 1yr course and wish to stay longer, it means u have to apply for another program to make it 2yrs and also show POF all over again but if your plan is to migrate and gain a PR, a 2yrs program is ideal. The choice is yours

I also forgot to add.

We already paid about half the tuition and some other fee amounting to about 20,000$ CAD.
She filled the IMMM form herself. And yes, we used a very popular agency company. If I remember correctly, she never presented this form to me. I would follow up on that now .
Please my advice is, do not use them again... reason, they practically do everything and don't show u Wat they have done to proof read for errors which those guys do with ease.. first issue came from that IMMM form..

naijaoyibo:
Dear all, Thanks for all you do.

My younger sister gained admission to do an MBA in Canada last year 2019. We applied for a visa (paper route). Unfortunately she was denied visa. Reasons 'She does not meet the financial requirement'.

In the application, I, her brother was the major sponsor. I included property documents worth about 40M Naira. I also submitted certificates of investment with some Agro-tech companies worth about 30 million Naira too. I submitted a personal bank statement with an account balance of about 20M Naira, and a bank statement of my business account with an account balance of 20M Naira. However, my personal account has funds coming and going in very often with very huge turnover since I run a crypto exchange platform.
My business account was registered as a general merchandise, import-export, buying and selling business 2 years ago. However these days I just use it for my crypto exchange business when I exhaust the limit on my personal account. So for both my personal accounts and business, we have funds coming in and going out. It doesn't really stay for long. However 1 month to submitting the application, I ensured I always left a tangible sum of 10-20M there. (seems this did not work with the visa denial).

Also, most of my funds are kept in crypto assets (BTC and USDT), so I could not include these other funds when submitting documents as her sponsor. Immediately after the denial, I opened another personal account and tried to deposit funds monthly there to build a history. I wanted to build these funds for 6 months and get it to about 40M Naira. I could only do this for 2 months and managed to deposit about 11M Naira before I had to withdraw all and convert to USD cash after I got intel of the Naira devaluation in March. However, when I was withdrawing the money from the account, I always included a comment on each transfer 'Purchase of dollar'.

The problem here is, we want to reapply for the visa next month. However, I am confused on how to prove to the consul and Canadian High Commission that I am capable of sponsoring her education in Canada. Most of my assets are in crypto and stored in 'cold and hard storage'. My company is not registered as a crypto company. There are no crypto laws in Nigeria currently. There is more than enough money to support her financially, but I do not know the best way to prove to the Canadian high commission that these funds are readily available.

I still have about 30M Naira in Agro-tech. However, majority of my capital remains in Crypto. Also, I am still very young. Does this play a role? How do I go about this? What's the best way to prove that I can sponsor her.
Una dy make this stuff difficult.. all this money yet she was denied for the same reason insufficient financial resources.

Please if you wish to reapply,

Use your own personal account, using a company account isn't okay, don't even include it.. if you can just pay her full tuition fee if it's not fully paid, apply with your personal account, your sponsor employment docs can be the business u do.. all this investments remove it all..

Just make this application simple and straightforward, the VO probably only wanted to see your personal account balance savings, if it's sufficient for her upkeep and living expenses cos clearly you can cater for all that and also Cos the person you are sponsoring is still young. You have started well by opening an account just for her visa parole which has amounted to 11m..

This is the exact reason. copied word for word from the rejection mail.

Thank you for your interest in visiting Canada. After careful review of your student permit application and supporting documentation, I have determined that your application does not meet the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR). I am refusing your application on the following grounds:

Pursuant to paragraph 220(a) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the tuition fees for the course or program of studies that you intend to pursue.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(b) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to maintain yourself and any family members who are accompanying you during your proposed period of study.

Pursuant to paragraph 220(c) of the IRPA, I am not satisfied that you have sufficient and available financial resources, without working in Canada, to pay the cost of transporting yourself and any family members who are accompanying you to and from Canada
Please quick question

Who filled the Immm form for her?
Did she do it herself and did you use an agent?
I asked cos your finances are very very okay...
The best way to tackle this is,
pay her tuition fee complete
do not use your company account, use your personal account only
u don't need to move money to your parents account.
Fill the Immm form with her together, I say this cos the denial reasons keep showihg someone is accompanying her.

Please my program has a 6 month coop placement. When I want to apply for my study visa, is there a way to apply for the coop work permit specially or I just go about the application normally
This is normal and advantageous wen it gets to securing a permanent job.. a coop is more like the Nigerian University Industrial training but with better advantage after school.. So apply for your visa normally, wen you get to canada, u will be issued a study permit and a work permit. The work permit is your key card for you to be eligible for the 6months coop placement

Hello

Please I need an answer or an advice to this question that’s bothering me seriously

I have 12M in my personal account . Sponsorship not exactly forthcoming

I am going for a program of 8.2M (MBA).

Should I submit this bank account along side my landed properties , shares and other investments

Or i shouldn’t till I find a sponsor??

Thank you all
Honestly, nobody can tell u exactly what amount is okay or not.. but it's determinant on how many years your course is. Just have enough for your tuition fees and at least one year living expense. If you can get a sponsor, it's an added advantage. But getting a visa approval goes beyond the millions in your account shaa.

Guys can an asthmatic patient study in canada or what country do you recommend?
This is 1 of factors holding me back
If you are applying, u will need to make it known on the imm form u will fill, If u are successful and get a medical request, you must tell the physician about it. So my answer is yes you can apply... but be mindful of the province you choose because of the weather eg Quebec, is really cold.

There are sites approved by CIC in which you can apply for your gcms note but you have to be a Canadian citizen or a somebody living there to apply.
Also there are third party sites where you can apply, they help u to apply but will cost more. Google can get you started..
