I started first by going to various market (mostly alaba intl) to take pictures of electronics, ask for their prices and begin to market online. For example if the seller says the goods is 60k, I may market it for 80k and pocket my 20k profit.

At first everywhere was dry but I remained steadfast until the sales began to Come. Once a buyer indicates interest, for those that easily trust, they pay and I quickly run to the store, pay, get my receipt and deliver.

For customers that are scared of making payment before delivery, I quickly rush to the market and Wen they come I take them to the shop acting like I work there (at least the shop owners understand).

That was what I did until I began to build trust and gain ground. My online promotions were bringing sales so alot of the pple I collect good from them on credit, sell and pay them (I was credit worthy).

When I started at least I could make two sales a week and get like 10 to 20k but at a point I could make over 100k a week.

To cut long story short, after a year, I was able to start up pos in a space I saw there. The POS was a breakthrough. In the busy market and transactions were steady.

Most days I get above 15k daily from POS alone while I was still doing my normal hustle.

2022 I got a car for hire purchase e-hailing and driver delivers 30k weekly while my sales from the normal hustle has increase. Sometimes in a month from profit alone I get like 300k (that's excluding pos and uber own revenue).

I am seeking to have a shop of my own.

Since her mom has Money, what she should do is to plan with her husband to pretend like she left, then accept the mom's offer to travel abroad. Once she gets there, she is now in a free society where an 18yr old is treated as an adult not like a baby. Well for me I think quitting that slavery job in the bank is the biggest miracle that happened to him. Though he didn't consult well or ask before accepting to join the car wash job but I think the most important thing is that he has broken off from the shackles of office slavery. Things May be tough now but if he remains steadfast and work smartly he will be fine in no time.

I am boldly saying this because I took same path three years ago and I am 10 times better than I was.


I was a salary earner surviving on 60k monthly future was bleak and after searching for another job the best offer I got was 120k so one day I decided to quit.

I dropped my certificate and went to hustle in alaba international market. My friends, parents were disappointed that a graduate could condescend so low but thank God for my fiancee that encouraged me.

It wasnt easy but in three years I think I am far far better. If I should calculate my monthly income I get sometimes more than 500k in a month. I have other side businesses and also take good care of my mom.

I saw one of my colleagues 2wks ago and he looks old and hungry. He said his pay has been increased to 75k. Within me I wept but left to where I was going. I brought him to the company and since have been encouraging him to quit and Search for another job at least but dude is too scared and comfortable to move.

That one is normal. There will be food and drinks in the house for close family members and friends.

I am talking about throwing lavish reception. I can never try that.

Just last week I went to visit my fiancee's family and talk led to talk she (My fiancee's mom) started telling me about a guy that paid dowry and didn't do traditional marriage and another one that did trad but no church wedding.

She was talking about how it isn't cool and I had to chip in and told her that even me I have no plans of doing such. I plan to make it as small as possible. Come with just my mom, elder brother and my uncle who is standing as a father to pay dowry then take my wife and leave. My brother is a pastor and he can always bless our union while we proceed to court wedding after that.

I could see the disappointment on her face. She is the women leader in her state chapter while my fiancee is her first daughter so the expectations are huge but we have to call a spade a spade.

I explained further to her that we are both from poor backgrounds. We know each family's story and things are not rosy for my fiancee's family at all so we can't afford to please the crowd and go hungry after wedding.

I grew up in front of my fiancee's parents (we were neighbours) so there is nothing hidden about me or about them that none of us doesn't know.

Our relationship is 6yrs old and she is in school while I have been the key to her survival in that school because her parents are struggling to feed talk more of catering for her, then as her fiancé and looking at how far we've come I had to step up and be supportive to her.

We started dating when I was on a 30k a month job in 2017 as a fresh graduate. While she was just 18yrs old then, in 2019 from my little savings I set up a POS business which she was helping me to manage in her mom's shop while I focused on finding other sources of income. The POS business crashed after my fiancee gained admission in 2021 and went to school and other people I employed couldn't manage it like she did, even my younger brother. There were silly mistakes and losses so I had to close it because I already had a serious business I was doing and getting better income.

So that is our story and we have been from scratch together.

When I explained to the mom reason I will not do an elaborate wedding, her gloomy face brightened up and she said OK.

I can't feed crowd with life savings then I go home with your daughter to drink garri. Unless you have plans to support the wedding.

Because I intend to save cost and use it to establish a business for your daughter (my wife) Incase she graduates and unable to get a good job.

Secondly I am saving towards our japa after marriage.

For me I think it only took one lesson on the street to learn to drive.

My friend owns a car and he drives us to work. I always sit in front with him everyday and I watch him drive.

When it was time for me to buy my own car, before it arrived I was nervous so first thing I did was to go on YouTube to learn how to drive, HelpfulDY channel was really helpful, I watched a lot of videos and also video of a young boy and her siblings that took their parent's car on the high way for the first time, it boosted my moral, next I went on play store and download Dr. Driving game (as seen in the picture)... Mehnnn that game really helped me ooooo.

When my car arrived, I begged my friend to put me through and he just showed me how to move front and backwards (I was already used to it in the game) it took 30mins and he went back home but I stayed on the road for more than 5hrs practicing, on the empty road because it was on a Sunday. I practice even parking and reversing and when I was satisfied, I drove home.


I bought the car for hire purchase so I gave it to my driver to continue and I pleaded with my friend to allow me his keys to practice. So in the money while he is sleeping I will take his car, wash it and after that I will practice round with it, I did that for 2wks and on two occasions went to highway.

One month after my driver wanted to run with my car because he wasn't picking my calls and wasn't delivering, I have a tracker installed so I turned off the ignition and took bolt with a friend to where he was at lakowe, collected my keys and for the first time I drove for long, all the way from lakowe to Okoko. Then the next day I drove from Okoko to sango ota to see a friend..... Since then it's been history

Why do you need 100k when you can make money without money?

All you need is to look for importers and market what they sell.

For example I sell laptops and I have people in my list I send updates.

A laptop of N150,000 once I post the pictures and config they too repost it and market it in the way they can any amount they want.

When a deal Is struck let's say N180,000 they come to shop, test their systems, pay and carry with the receipt reflecting their sale price. That's a whooping N30,000 profit without involving your capital

Some even sell higher or lower depends on their marketing skills.

Things are too hard. Many men are struggling to feed themselves alone talk more of adding a woman and a child.

As economy becomes more and more men lose interest in marriage and worse of it is that we are in a society where there Is nothing for the female gender.

I feel for my female counterparts Walai. You see them go through same school stress with us men but when they get to the job market they are priced far less than what men earns. I finished secondary school 14yrs ago but 3yrs ago me at the forefront made a move to connect with most of our class mates.

I linked up with 5 pple and we created a whatsapp group and so far we have risen to about 70 in the group

It's amazing to see how we corporate, we do donations for any of our mates that is wedding, anyone that puts to bed or loses a loved one. So far we have had 2 get together parties and there was an impressive turn out.

Recently we played a football match between us and the set above us and it was fun to see our seniors and also old friends.

One joy I derive from this is the fact that these people know ourselves more than some family members. In their midst is where I feel like a child.

I go out looking corporate and serious, I come home seeking to be at my best and an example to my kids, in the neighborhood I comport myself to attract respect, no time to feel like a baby, to play, to laugh and to connect with people that know you in and out. But we my class mates, when we meet, nobody forms anything, we keep our social status aside and call ourselves those funny names, play and catch fun like we did in class 14yrs ago.

I wish I can get the detailed part of our conversation but they are years ago, I have changed phone, lost many of them, some were via phone and whatsapp calls while some are too far to locate

I have experienced it but glad I moved on but it wasn't easy.

I met this girl in my 3rd year in school, it was love at first sight. We bonded from calls and meeting in campus then I shot my shot and she accepted but it was one sided. That episode led to me jumping into two other relationships to heal and I regret because I ended up breaking their hearts. Nice girls with beautiful heart who fell in love with a guy using them to heal from a heartbreak caused by another girl.

Well fast forward to four years after, we were still in talking terms but no feeling attached, I got another relationship with a beautiful lady, this time the feeling is mutual. I loved her just like she loved me surprisingly the so called ex wanted me back. Started preaching how she was still naive then, didn't know what she wanted, how she loved me but was scared, how her guys after me were too hard and one even hit her, how they this and that.

I found that funny because you got what you wanted and now running. My fiancee wasn't having any of that and confronted her to back off, there was a heated exchange between both of them until I intervened and told her she shouldn't disturb me again.

We are 5yrs together now and will be getting married next year for sure

Maybe it depends on family. I grew up in one of the worse ghettos in Nigeria, worse in a face me I face you. Sex is cheap and easy to get but I think the key to me being reserved is my father.

See let me be sincere with you, no matter how cheap and quality it is, if you are not in the mkt you cannot compete with importers.

I am in the market and I have done import before but when you think you brought in something cheap and quality. You will see importers who brought same PC much more cheaper. They have the funds and can pay for large quantities and get huge discounts from their suppliers.

Also importing this small quantities, you need to figure out how to sell fast for quick turn over. If you go the way of marketing one one and sells slow down you will be frustrated seeing your capital tied down.

My 2cents.

No need to rush into import with ur small capital and poor understanding of the marketing terrain of the biz.

Just begin by marketing bags brought it by other importers, sell and take your profit and give them their money. By doing so you grow your customer base, understanding your marketing skills and know if you can actually convince people to buy bags. Once that is settled, proceed to import but still with caution.

In business protecting your capital is as important as starting the biz
