I entered a bus this evening at iyana ipaja going to ikotun, I noticed I was the only guy in the bus, while the rest passagers were all ladies. Students will be the loser because the strike has achieved nothing.

Main reason dey went on strike is issue of IPPIS and UTAS. Govt hasn't listened to them but used hunger as a weapon to deal with them. Govt deliberately held their salaries and paid them in bulk so the bulk money will sweeten their soul to compromise and that had worked.

If not that student unions have been compromised, I expect students to protest OR demand compensations.

Many paid hostel fees but that expired without they using it.

Many bought foodstuffs which they left back thinking it was a short strike only for the good stuffs to expire.

Many parents took loans to buy the necessary things their kids need for school but all is a waste and they still have the loans to be paid back.

Hahaahha. I no fit try am. Me having clean shave is one of the reasons I haven't traveled to the village since last year. Here in Lagos people always mistake me for a military person, also my walking steps and height doesn't help. I almost got robbed at mile 2 bridge on Sunday.

My fiancee came to spend the weekend with me so on Sunday we decided to go out and have some fun. I am a yearly tenant and do not owe my landlord. The man decided to be greed and I had no option but to report him to office of public offender.

It happened that his negligence almost cost me my life and destroyed my properties, AC, TV, Shelve, speaker etc.

When it happened people told me to claim damages but I refused citing that I didn't want to take advantage of the situation, being alive is enough for me. The landlord was even begging me not to report the matter than he will compensate me. I told him I have no intention of reporting it, that he should just fixed his house back.

This man didn't fix the house, I called and called but he refused. I had to fix it myself and moved in because searching for a house is too expensive. I needed more time to search and get a better place. For two months I was out of my house because of the job going on. But when I moved in, I was surprised that this same landlord that begged me to be calm came and started disturbing me to pay his rent.

I was surprised, my rent hasn't expired, for two months I didn't stay in the house because of your negligence, my properties got damaged and I am not asking for compensation, I just moved in, yet to settle and you are pressuring me for a rent that hasn't expired.

I told him I will pay when my rent expires but will remove the money I spent doing work he wasn't supposed to do. This man refused and started shouting. I didn't expect him to behave the way he did after every thing that happened so I told him, I will be packing out of the house instead when my rent expires.

To my surprise the man brought a quit notice and asked me to leave his house the following month. Now that action got me angry and I decided to ask for compensation for my damaged properties.

Today, I filed a formal petition costing everything that got damaged and everything amounts to one million. The person handling the case after narrating the story to him and showed him video and picture evidence he became so angry and further extended the case to Lagos State Building agency which means the house will be surveyed for structural integrity and if it fails the test, demolish will follow.

I didn't want to toe this part but the landlord allowed greed to blind him. You caused someone damages worth millions, he didn't request for pay back, his rent is still running yet you are pressuring him to pay days after he moved in.

Let him face the consequences of his greed

My brother no hope is lost.

When I lost my 60k a month job I felt all hope was lost. I was on that job for two years from 2018 to 2020 and maximum pay I got was 61,500. I had too much responsibilities and dependants and when covid 19 came pay reduced drastically to 10k a month, sometimes nothing at all.


I was so hopeless and hungry but when we were laid off that was when my eyes opened. I refused to give in to defeat, infact I vowed never to depend on my certificate again.

Many atimes we graduates are limited by our dependency on certificate. I still see my former colleagues and I am happy whenever they see me they always say, bro u Don fat, you Don add up, u Don this and that.

I had no money doesn't mean I was dead broke. I had no money because I was embarking on project, not that we couldn't eat or starving. We were OK.

I intentionally do not seek her assistance now, she has her own role to play and moreover I am not incapacitated.

See ehh, I have the most wonderful and understanding partner in the world who doesn't ask for anything but I still do not tell her my exact earning and reason being that as a man you got to prepare for unforeseen events.

If I earn 500k, she only knows of 300k there are some projects or circumstances that will come up and that excess will be needed to solve it.

Recently I had issues with accommodation. I just finished a project she is aware of and accommodation problem came up, I needed to pack out as soon as possible.

I had no money, she was aware of the lack of money but we miraculously moved out. She was surprised, where did you get money from. I told her I was doing Ajo, she was like and I didn't know about it at least carry me along. I said I carry you along but sometimes as the man of the house, bulk of the responsibilities are on me so I need to be some steps ahead of you financially, mentally and spiritually.

My woman is also working and till today I don't know how much she earns, what she uses her salary for even when they pay her. My concern is that work condition is favorable for her.
