Ijaya123:"You can't agree less" means you disagree completely. |
walex2:Quit adulating thieves. |
JAMO84:I don't know who constitute your "we" but I recall that the ACN fielded Nuhu Ribadu for the 2011 presidential election and he got over 2million votes. Why field a candidate for the election if you indeed intended to vote GEJ? ...and regarding marginalization, the PDP zoned the House Speakership in 2011 to the SW but your thin god Tinubu massively mobilized ACN MPs to vote against their own sister- Mulikat Adeola. How is that GEJ's fault? This is why the North will always be ahead politically- party affiliation is secondary to them. The fundamental thing is (northern) interest while f00lish Southern leaders play absolute politics to the point of working against their own region's interest. |
The Tinubu camp's disillusionment with the NWC dissolution is understandable as it has all but put paid to Jagaban's 2023 APC ticket pursuit. The man has himself to blame for that. I've always told my APC-supporting friends on this forum that the hope of reciprocity (from Buhari/the north) on which they hinge their entire 2023 aspiration is foolhardy. Besides their unbridled fervour to oust GEJ at all cost, apparently the ACN bloc had no other motivation going into the merger that birthed the APC. Despite going to the negotiation table with a much more formidable structure (ACN governors, Senators and MPs) than Buhari's CPC that had zero elected office holders, Tinubu never deemed it necessary to broker a (written) formal deal for power rotation akin to the PDP's zoning arrangement. He senselessly collapsed his entire ACN structure and declared an unwavering support for the quest to return power to the north, while hoping that his obeisance and complete subservience to Buhari will endear him to the north in his wild-goose-chase pursuit of the presidency. ...and to compound Tinubu's woes, he has completely burnt bridges with the SS/SE who now deem his name virtually an abomination when discussing 2023 presidency...no thanks his 2015 betrayal. |

slivertongue:Comments like this only lend credence to the fact that Nigeria is indeed not ripe for democracy. You don't see anything wrong with the president (of all Nigerians) holding a political party meeting at the FEC meeting chambers? What's the business of Nigerians with the internal affairs of the APC that warrants the use of a public building for their meeting? Perhaps the PDP, AAC, APGA, KOWA et al should also book the same location for their subsequent meetings. ...and to crown their ignominy, the comic opera even featured a supposed Attorney-General and Nigeria's Minister of Justice administering Oath of Office to a party chieftain! ![]() It's almost certain they also channeled public resources into funding that show-of-shame. These charlatans in power keep plunging us to new lows and setting terrible precedents with each passing day. It's unfortunate. |
cocolacec:How many parts of the world have you been to? ![]() Tell me ONE, just ONE country on earth you know that runs this flawed system we have in Nigeria. |
Antoeni:How do you mean "...he makes people" ? Is he God? Without Tinubu, Lagos would still have produced Governors and Ministers as these are constitutional imperatives. The likes of Saraki and James Ibori also made people Governors, Senators, MPs, etc, That's exactly what ALL Godfathers do - install their puppets and surrogates in key positions in return for obeisance and subservience while they continue plundering our coffers. No amount of suger-coating will make Godfatherism appealing. There's nothing glorious about it. It's evil and anti-progress. Quit promoting Godfatherism! #LetPowerResidewiththePeople. |
chukzbozz86:God bless you aplenty, bro. |
Kyase:The bolded portion is highly unlikely. Tinubu stands no chance at all even if he's gifted the APC ticket. Let me know if you wish to wager on that...any amount. |
The Tinubu camp's disillusionment with today's NEC resolutions is understandable as it has all but put paid to Jagaban's 2023 APC ticket pursuit. The man has himself to blame for that. smallsmall:Oh! So now there's an entity called "South" huh? Didn't we warn you in 2015 when Tinubu, out of sheer hatred embarked on an all-out offensive against GEJ? Besides their unbridled fervour to oust Jonathan at all cost, apparently the ACN bloc had no other motivation going into the merger that birthed the APC. Despite going to the negotiation table with a more formidable structure (ACN governors, Senators and MPs) than Buhari's CPC that had zero elected office holders, Tinubu never deemed it necessary to broker a (written) formal deal for power rotation akin to the PDP's zoning arrangement. That's for sure. Is Obaseki validly registered as a PDP member at his ward? YES Did he pick the Guber nomination form? YES Is the party's timetable for screening and primaries adjustable? YES...as long as these fall within INEC's time-frame and same is communicated to them. Has he been screened and cleared to contest? YES. At whose discretion are waivers granted? The party's or the court's? The party's (PDP's) VERDICT: The sh*tty injunction is bound to be set aside as no court can invalidate a legit waiver granted a candidate by his party. |
Dansuqi:OBJ could never have conceived the idea of keeping power down South because it was the turn of the north as provided for by the PDP's constitution. Don't you think a similar provision in the APC's constitution would have saved everyone these needless uncertainties and intrigues surrounding their 2023 ticket? |
ImmaculateJOE:That still doesn't make it 6 years. Yar' Adua was flown abroad in November 2009 and died after 6 months. GEJ was never allowed by Turai and the cabal to really serve in his stead. Regardless, November 2009 to May 2015 = 5 years and 6 months but the APC propaganda machinery made it look like GEJ had been in office for eons just to stir public rebellion. ![]() |
Dansuqi:Buhari deployed INEC, the Military et al to his advantage in 2019 but will definitely not do the same for Tinubu (should he pick the 2023 ticket). His seeming indifference towards the current APC's leadership crisis is deliberate. ...and with northerners firmly in control of every institution of the government, the bolded portion has atleast a 70% chance of coming to fruition. |
DEROX:Tinubu ain't Buhari; and the SW doesn't have the number to call anyone "5%". |
Coldie:Sarcasm right? |
Buhari is a plague Nigerians f00lishly brought upon themselves. Every day the incompetent bigot spends in office takes us even further away from the prospect of economic liberation. I hope we never again repeat such a mistake. |
One4me:While I don't entirely agree with all your points, I'd say bravo nonetheless for your dispassionate analysis of issues. The bolded portion is exactly what I've all along been trying to make people see...and that's why Obaseki will win in September. ![]() Only a neophyte will fail to see that " as it was with the PDP in 2014, so it is now with the APC". Things will become clearer by 2022 when the real re-alignments begin. Bamidelee, Dansuqi, johnmartus, seunmsg, DEROX, LegengHero, waledeji, Grayoso, princedebola201, Mraphel, JAMO84 |
One4me:The bolded portion should have preceded the lifting of Oshio's suspension...but I doubt if that is feasible any longer. He has been thoroughly humiliated nonetheless. ![]() |
bamidelee:By mid-2022, only the Lagos APC and Tinubu's media hirelings will be left with him. You guys have no idea what's cooking, do you? ![]() |
helinues:I agree with you on this. No need laying bare your entire arsenal for your opponents to see going into a war. |
johnmartus:Kiddo, Lagos was a Protectorate Capital, and a Federal Capital for decades. It's been Nigeria's economic hub eons before Tinubu's grandfather was born. ![]() |

MrMcJay:He had the Edo peoples' backing then...and big big kudos to GEJ as well for his non-interference with both the electoral and the court processes. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By Ben Agande Abuja — Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State, yesterday, defended his condemnation of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, during last Saturday’s election in the state, saying he needed to raise alarm in order to thwart the efforts of those who were determined to rig the election. Speaking with State House correspondents when he visited President Goodluck Jonathan, Gov. Oshiomhole commended the president for ensuring that the votes of the electorate counted, by deploying enough security personnel in the state to maintain law and order. Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State addressing journalists at Iyamho Primary School. According to Oshiomhole, “the President warned that there will be no rigging, no manipulation, no ballot snatching and orders were given to the army to ensure that none of those things happened and the army carried out the order. “The Police IG was similarly instructed, he deployed his men probably much more than we probably needed and they delivered on the President’s orders. The SSS were fantastic because they were always at the collating centres where some of the manipulations could take place. I have been a victim and so you would understand why I am familiar with it. And the SSS did a fanastic job, two plus two was four not five, not 15 and that made a lot of difference. So we need to appreciate the President and encourage him to sustain this principle of truly reminding all of us who hold political office.” On allegation against INEC Speaking on his allegation against INEC, Oshiomhole who waxed philosophical pointed out that “ in my own part of the world the fact that you got home safely does not mean you should not investigate an accident scene. We had several meetings, I informed INEC in a petition about two months ago that my opponents in their strategic meeting sent out their men and they reported back that it would be impossible for them to win. But then, their leader insisted they must win and that this is his last time. They then agreed on a number of issues. “One of them was that my support base in Benin City is very strong and incidentally, Edo South accounts for 55 per cent of the total registered voters. And so they agreed that they were going to work with some people in the INEC on election day to delay supply of materials. “So, when you supply materials late, two things will happen: the number of persons who had queued up since 8 o’clock to wait for five hours will grumble if materials don’t come, the average person will say, well I have done my best, if the material has not come I have to go home. “Don’t forget there are no eateries around the area and so people would have been compelled to fast. So the immediate implication of that is that you will find so many people would not able to vote. “Number two, when you then push the elections into the dark hours in a country where you are not sure of power supply, when it is dark, it becomes easy for election manipulators to change numbers. So these I conveyed to Prof. Attahiru Jega and we raised it in the various stakeholders meeting that we had with him. “I mean the reason Nigeria is not making progress is that we are afraid to tell the truth. It is not a big deal to be a governor but it is a big deal to tell the truth and to harass anyone who is responsible for dragging Nigeria backward.” Promises to carry all along Oshiomhole promised to carry every Edo indigene along not minding their political affiliation, adding: “But you see I made this point yesterday (Sunday), even when I was rigged out in 2009 I did try to work with everybody. If you remember, I appointed three commissioners from the PDP in my first term because I was anxious to make the point that, yes as a trade unionist my business was to voice and to speak through to power and even to harass power if I thought it was being misused. I have done that all my life. So not a few were curious as to how I will now manage. “I was always conscious of that and to avoid continued protest and diversions inside I want to carry everybody along and I demonstrated that by asking them give me three PDP commissioners. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and everybody has to go his way. “I’m humbled by the fact that across the state, this is the first time in our history probably the only place this has happened, that a governor won election in every local government. This, for me, entails a huge responsibility when the people speak with one voice and say we prefer you, you have a duty to service that trust.” “Like I told many of them, you did not vote for me the last time yet I built this beautiful school, I constructed this beautiful road, I built the beautiful health center then imagin when you vote for me, I can only do more. And you know I am conscious that people like you are interested in what is happening in a Edo State. I am not like other governors whose constituency is limited largely to the boundaries of their state. I’m conscious of the fact that though I’m a governor in Edo State but the average Nigerian is keen to see what is Oshimhole is doing now, now that he is a governor. And that explains why I can’t afford to relax even when others do. And I’m so grateful to God that He has blessed everything that we have asked for” he said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/07/why-i-raised-alarm-on-election-day-oshiomhole/ |
