lexy2014:That's why common sense not common. |
scholarsfunding:That is the sad reality. My pain is that the Supreme Court is making/creating a precedent that will come back to hurt us in the future. It could be CBN today, tomorrow NAFDAC, SON, and other regulatory agencies or bodies. My Lord's at the highest court are only protecting their stolen and hidden old naira note. Remember, they don't save such money in bank. |

Its only the elites with parochial vested interst that are afraid that Obi will upturn the lies general accepted by many about the IGBOS. |
LexngtonSteele:Please, stop spreading lies. Igbos and every other Nigerians in the South East voted for OBI based on the fact that he is the 'best' among the candidates. If we had somebody like Osibanjo and Oji Ozor Kalu, definately the Igbos will vote for the former than their son. ...In the 2003 presidential election in which Ojukwu, the famed Igbo leader, vied, the south-east voted tremendously for his rival – Olusegun Obasanjo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). In fact, Ojukwu’s ‘’Igbo party’’, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) could not even win governorship elections in the south-east except in Anambra — the late politician’s native home. In Anambra, Obasanjo had 466,866 votes which represent 54 percent of the entire count while Ojukwu had 279,378 – 34 percent of the total tally. In Abia, Obasanjo had 386,748 votes (51.7 percent) while Ojukwu had 260,899 votes (34.9 percent). In Ebonyi, Obasanjo had 752,823 votes (94.5 percent) but Ojukwu polled only 20,525 votes (02.6 percent) within the same range as Muhammadu Buhari who had 16,308 votes in the state. In Enugu, Obasanjo had 897,721 votes (79.7 percent) while Ojukwu had 177,050 votes (15.7 percent). And in Imo, Obasanjo polled 656,861 votes (64.6 percent), but Ojukwu had 281,114 votes (27.7 percent). The late Igbo leader’s second attempt in 2007 was also unsuccessful. Souce: https://www.thecable.ng/in-2003-south-east-voted-for-obasanjo-against-ojukwu-why The Igbos don't play politics of my own but who is better equiped to give him a level playing ground to survive anywhere he finds himself. A law for Mr North, should be the same for Mr South, likewise for Mr West and Mr East. |
Out of 18 registered political parties, at the end of the day, one will be declared the winner. Whoever wins, he becomes the president of Federal Republic of Nigeria. His policies, actions and inactions will be felt by all. No citizen is denied to use a good road networks, etc because he didn't vote for the president. likewise, no market will sell bread cheaper because he voted for the president. we all gain or loss as the case may be. The political elites, friends and their families will always be ok. Their children will be sent to the best of the best schools all around the globe, choice jobs will await them at the end of the day in NNPC, FIRS, NPA, NA, NN, NF, NC, etc What will be left for you and I? Posterity will be kind to me. This I know. |

The founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide (Winners), Bishop David Oyedepo, has urged Nigerians to vote wisely in the 2023 general elections to enthrone credible leadership. Mr Oyedepo made the call in Ota on Thursday while speaking at a three-day fasting and prayer programme for a hitch-free general election in the country. The clergyman urged Nigerians to scrutinise the character and capacity of those seeking their votes before making decisions. Mr Oyedepo, also the chancellor of the Covenant University, Ota, urged Nigerians to analyse every contestant’s antecedents and service record critically. “The presidential election is just a few days away. We are believing God for a hitch-free exercise. We should all do our parts to ensure a credible exercise,” said Mr Oyedepo. The Winners’ spiritual head explained that every political party or tribe in the country has people with the requisite qualifications to lead the nation. “There is also no political party or tribe in the country without incompetent and character-deficient individuals. No tribe is indecent. We only have indecent people in every tribe, religion, and political party,” Mr Oyedepo explained. He urged Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or religion, to defend the nation’s democracy, unity and national integrity. “It is our collective duty to secure the future of our children and the posterity of our great nation. Democracy provides us an open access for any candidate notwithstanding their political party, tribe or religion,” added Mr Oyedepo. Chidibe212:Supreme Court entertaining the case between FGN vs State is in order. This is one and the only time such precedent is allowed by the law. |
femisplash:My entitled opinion, though am not a learned person. The CBN was not joined in the sue. The court does not rule in a case not brought before it. Meanwhile, CBN as an independent body is empowered by 2007 Acts as Amended. See below section. The CBN Act Section 2 (b) mandates the Central Bank of Nigeria to be the sole issuer of legal tender currency in Nigeria. The CBN regulates the volume of money supply in the economy in order to ensure monetary and price stability. The Currency Operations Department is responsible for currency management through the planning, procurement, distribution, processing, reissue and disposal of banknotes and coins. The currency structure comprises of three coin denominations (50k, ₦1, and ₦2), eight banknote denominations (₦5, ₦10, ₦20, ₦50, ₦100, ₦200, ₦500 and ₦1000) and Central Bank Digital Currency (eNaira). . The state government been a second tier of government, has no say in matters in exclusive list as per the 1999 constitution as amended. "Even the FGN can not issue directives to the CBN if it does not want" except the CBN is amended giving the former to make pronouncements. The governors are only tweaking on people emotion and for they selfish electioneering sympathy. That was the reason the governors that sue the FGN didn't not include the CBN, else case will come high court, appeal court to the Supreme Court. |

In a space or two weeks or so you don the invite baby or later the baby invites you!!! Haba, it was too early for both of you. Next time, first thing, invite a lady to a public space-Cafe, cinema, cool restaurant, any fun environment. Next you invite her to your house. Visiting her house is the last on the process line. Nevertheless, just ghost her, if she reach out ok but if not ok too. Never you show signs of disappointment over for what happened. |
