Nigerians are not seeing the red flag. Buying up all the rice in the market by the government with respect to the palliative is causing more harm than good. This action has led to unimaginable increase in inflation. We all know first to get this palliative are the politicians and their families, the remaining will be share by the ward chairmen and pawns down the land. However more than 95% of Nigerian population that are excluded from the above will get nothing. This 95%'ers that work hard to make a living may not buy a bag because of inflation. Interesting time ahead. |
Racoon:That is what most people don't see. Just like even ''NEPA bill'' can serve as a minimum qualification for the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in this time and age for a population of more than 200 million and over $450Billion worth of economy annually. Hence the result of 8 yrs of MB. Now coming to the present situation, a lot will change in our national, political, electoral and criminal jurisprudence. Interesting time ahead. Some ambiguity in our 99 constitution as amended and the electoral Act will be explained or down played better. Indeed interesting time ahead. All hullabaloo about transmission, forfeiture (criminal or civil), ABJ 25%, etc will be led to rest once and for all. Meanwhile, anyone that allow him/herself to be used after the verdict by the same evil politician , will only blame him/herself. |
This is change!!! We should be looking at the Billions of dollar. |
ican2020:Exactly my thoughts. Why not meter those that don't have because more than 85% of houses do not have meter. |
I sincerely believed the story do not match what I observed that early morning when I passed that area. The accident happened exactly opposite Crown City Leisure park. The carcass of one of the victims, probably the Okada rider and the wrecked Motorcycle do not show impact kind of accident but a climb over by the truck. Mind you, at that point of accident, no truck or even smaller vehicle can make a turn except if the vehicle is coming out from the Crown City Leisure park or Guest house. The police needs to unravel the truth because not all the time we blame the Okadas. If you are familiar with this road, Agbara-Lusada-Atan axis in Ogun state , that transverses through the industrial area, it is busy with heavy vehicular movement that more often than not are filled with trucks that have these kind of modified headlight that will blind you and sometimes you will see a single headlight and mistook it fit Okada. |
Nigerians will hit the street if it happen in 9ja. Click like if am right or share if am wrong. |
It's a big shame that NBS has allowed the politicians to influence them to the extent that all data posted since BAT took over do not tell the true picture. As someone that is intune with the happenings of the manufacturing sectors around Agbara and Ota industrial axis of Ogun State, these data do not reflect the realities on ground. Is it from low sell, to highest cost of production? or from shut down of production line to retrenchment or downsizing of workers? Abi na the inflation!!?? Most of the politicians never for once had or run any enterprise before. We are in crazy time. |
One thing is obvious l, heaven will not fall either ways the judiciary rules. Everything should be by the rule of law. Not on technicalities!!! Nigeria constitution should remain Supreme and true. |

On March 24, 2023, the Director General of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA)1 issued a circular to all member-companies, titled, “Amendment of the National Housing Fund Act and Contribution into the National Housing Fund (NHF)” (the “Circular”). The Circular was issued sequel to the signing of the Business Facilitation Act (BFA) 2022 by President Muhammadu Buhari in February 2023. The Circular seeks to implement the amendments of the BFA to the National Housing Fund Act 1992, particularly with reference to the regulation of contributions made to the NHF by private sector employers of labour in Nigeria. In this client alert, we summarise the provisions of the Circular and highlight the key changes that it has introduced. Precursor to the Circular: Amendment of the NHF Act by the BFA The National Housing Fund (NHF) was established by the NHF Act of 1992 to mobilise funds that will facilitate the provision of affordable houses for Nigerians.2 Under the NHF Act, every Nigerian in the public and private sector earning an equivalent of the National Minimum Wage3 or above is required to contribute 2.5% of their monthly basic salary into the NHF managed and administered by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (the “Bank”). 4 The funds mobilized is then made available through the Bank to contributors at affordable interest rates to own houses. By the Act, employers of labour are required to deduct, at source, the prescribed rate of contribution from the monthly salaries of qualifying employees and remit same to the Bank 5 The above requirement has now been altered by section 45 of the BFA which in effect, amends section 4 of the extant law. By the amendment, only employees earning the national minimum wage and above in the public sector, and self-employed individuals are required to contribute 2.5% of their monthly income to the Fund. Consequently, private sector employees are now excluded from compulsory compliance with this obligation and may hence forth contribute the requisite 2.5% of their monthly income to the NHF voluntarily. The Circular As a follow-up to the changes introduced by the BFA, the NECA issued a Circular to all member companies bringing the amendment to their notice. The Circular informed member-companies that employees can either decide to opt out of contributing to the NHF or continue to contribute, at their discretion. For those employees who choose to remain contributors of the NHF, the Circular directs employers to continue to deduct the prescribed rate at source and make remittances to the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN). For employees who are current contributors but choose to exercise their right to opt out, the employers are directed to inform such employees to process their refund as provided under the NHF Act.6 Conclusion While we expect the Bank to issue subsequent guidance or practice directives on implementation of the new provisions, especially as regards employees who choose to opt out of the scheme, in the interim, we recommend that all employers take note of the Circular, as well as the amendments introduced by the BFA and begin to put in place, structures, to ensure compliance. 1 Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) is the umbrella organization of employers in the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria. It was formed in 1957 to provide the forum for the Government to consult with private sector employers on socio-economic and labour policy issues. 2 Section 2 of the NHF Act. 3 The minimum wage in Nigeria is currently N30,000 (Thirty Thousand Naira). Section 3 (1) National Minimum Wage Act 2019. 4 Section 4 & 10 of the NHF Act Souce: https://www.templars-law.com/app/uploads/2023/04/Amendment-of-the-National-Housing-Fund-Act-and-Contribution-into-the-National-Housing-Fund.pdf#:~:text=On |

In Nigeria, you can't work in any "A" organization without tendering a copy of your school documents. Viz a Viz, a background check will be done without you even knowing...WAEC, DEGREE, HND, NYSC. etc If there is nothing to worry I don't need to stop any interested party who want to go and verify. |
DECENTBWOY:By the above statement, its obvious the OP want to drug someone, perhaps reasons best known to him. If you are paranoid about taking a sleeping pills, son, GO and SEE a DOCTOR. Wrong administration of un-prescribed drugs can lead to addiction, injuries, disability, even death! |
RingRoadMafia:That was Succer punch!!! Most of these guys never own or manage any business entity or understand how a manufacturing/extracting industries work. Perhaps all his live has been on government patronage. |
Most companies for the past 8 years has been planning to exit the country due to unfriendly economic environment, inconsistency and corrupt igovernment policies etc. Some of the companies that endured the 8 years was waiting for fortune change, waiting to see who the new Sheriff in Aso Rock would be but alas the number one man in the country is nobody but a Promax of the former. Thence, the exit of GSK, tactical exit of Shell and so many others that you will hear about in coming days. These companies have parted ways with Nigeria, sold their assets or divested as the case may be. - Truworths. - Etisalat. - ExxonMobil. - Tiger Brands. - HSBC and UBS. - Mr Price Group Ltd. - Woolworths. - Shoprite. - Game - Brunel Services plc - Iberia Airline - InterContinental Hotel Group |

For Job reason, I relocated with my family to another city. As such, we were buying Sachet water from a water factory within the neighborhood. As a regular customer that buys close to six bags every week, one day I was opportune to enter inside the factory and behold it was a big turn off. No standard purification process, algae and leakages are doing national competition on the PVC pipes instead of seeing Stainless steel piping. Only what was available was ordinary rope filter. That day, my family stopped drinking sachet water. we now drink from the borehole in the compound. Three years now no issue. |
successmatters:And unparalleled access to dollar (Fx) below real market value that no other business man can access. Such dollars may not be involved in real estate, commerce and production but round tripping. For example access dollar at 300 per naira resell at 500 without adding value to the real economy. |
gidgiddy:More often than not, they Igboness only come to bear when it does not favour them. Same as other Nigerians calling them Igbo when a crime is committed but Niger delta when oil money is involved. |
