Romance › Re: Girl Gets Insulted Because She Refused To Visit A Guy On Their First Date by Apina(m):
She should have allowed him take the initiative and saved herself from the uncalled and unnecessary insults since he's the one asking her out. While the guy See's no sense in leaving the area where both of them reside for a meeting, I believe the lady is just being careful cos not everyone is comfortable with area parole which if it goes sour, she might not be able to "show face" and not just about the sex thing.

Revenge they say, is a dish best served cold. Follow this routine in dealing with her:
1. Accept her back
2. Don't spend a dime on her
3. Do not act all lovey dovey around her
4. Tear her kpekus at will
5. Do it just for the fun of it

SO many NIGERIA christians are with these mindset of going to church with any amount of cash in their their hands..to use for offering....AS a worker or as an employed human, that receives monthly salaries,, And as a true and a non hypocritical christian, you should be able to put nothing below 1,000 naira every sunday in the offering box. Romance › Re: Do Nice Guys Really Finish Last? She's Scared Of My Attitude. by Apina(m):
fataisulaiman:
I'm a regular member of Nairaland, but for privacy's sake, I decided to create a new moniker to ask for mature member's help in this issue I find myself in.

Right from my undergraduate days in a university in Oyo state, many people had known me as a cool, gentle, and quiet guy. Many of my friends, particularly the ladies, really liked me to help them out in their assignments and other things and i duly obliged. i didnt see anything wrong in giving people a hand or two, but my room mate and closest buddy told me to tone it down a bit as they, particularly the girls, may want to take advantage of my kind nature.

I remember this particular set of three girls who came to my room regularly. One of them really caught my eye and I tried to ask her out a couple of times, but each time she'll just laugh and tell me she can't date her "brother". I took my roommates advice and decided to shun her, but each time she'll wail and whine till I take her back. This continued until one evening we were both coming from evening service on campus. I was trying to make her see my point on why I wanted her to be my girl, but she just kept laughing. Suddenly a car pulled up to us and a guy I had never seen before called her name. You need to see how this girl squealed in excitement. Without even acknowledging or respecting the fact I was standing there, the guy asked her where she was going and before I knew what had happened, she had turned, gave me a quick hug, told me she'll see me later, and had jumped into the car. I just stared like a fool at them as the car zoomed off.

She didnt call me until the following day. When I didn't pick her call, she came to my room trying to explain away why she left me standing there at the side of the road, but I had had it already. She tried using her baby tactics on me but I got angry and yelled at her. Soon we were having a shouting match. She told me she owed me nothing, and she can go with anyone she pleases. She stormed off in a huff and even though I wanted to call her after my anger had boiled down a bit, I decided not to. Things weren't the same between us afterwards and I didnt talk to her again till I graduated.

Almost a similar thing happened to me when I went to Rivers for my youth service. I met a girl I really liked on camp and we hit it off. As usual, I tried to be the nice guy, treating her with kid gloves, right up to the point she started misbehaving too. She once told me I'm the only person she knows who can take all her shit, and that I'm the kind of guy who goes the extra mile for her in anything she wants me to do. Our "relationship" didn't even last up to 3 months when I found out she was dating another Corper guy who, through some connections of his wealthy parents, was serving in Shell. I had called her one Saturday evening to hang out with her, but she told me she wasn't feeling well. I asked her if she wanted me to come over but she told me not to worry, that she'll see me the following day after church.

I decided to go hang out by myself at a popular joint somewhere near the Choba Campus of UNIPORT. i had just ordered a bottle of Small stout with some nice peppersoup and was about doing justice to it when out of the blue, this girl and the guy walked in arm-in-arm. I was so shocked, I almost fell out of my chair. To make matters even worse, they took the empty table beside me and once she saw me, she didn't even act like she knew me. I called her name several times but she just ignored me. The guy she came with himself was wondering why I was calling her name. I simply stood up, paid the waiter, and left without touching my food.

I made up my mind to harden my heart, not to allow any girl into my life. So many other girls tried to get to me but I kept pushing them all away. I wasn't interested in women again. i stayed that way for the next couple of years. I got an admission to study for my masters and i left the shores of Nigeria.

Even during my studies, I decided not to have any meaningful relationship. I did actually meet a couple of girls, even had sex with one or two and made out with some, but I didn't open my heart to any of them. It was merely physical.

And then Hadiza came into my life.

Pretty. Bold. Fit. Fair. Average height. Had all the curves in the right places. Shy, beautiful smile. Black glasses. nice round boobs and lovely hips. I met her in the library in the Graduate study room. I noticed she had a folder of my alma mater. I asked her if she attended the school and she said yes. I told her I attended the school too and later found out she was in 100 level when i graduated. We chatted a while and exchanged numbers.

Soon we started hanging out. We would study together, gist together, and do many other things. I was still a bit wary, but it seemed she was different. She seemed more reserved, quiet, and flirtatious. We gradually got closer and closer.

I took her to the mall one evening to get her something for her birthday. I was going to be out of town on her birthday and she wasn't happy about it. As I parked in front of her apartment complex, just as she gruffily said good night and was about to open the door, I held her arm gently, and when she turned, I leaned in and gave her a kiss on her lips. I kissed her for a few more moments and when she broke free she murmured "What took you so long?"

To cut a long story short, we became inseparable after then. She spent most of her free time with me. I was still a bit skeptical about opening my heart again. I didn't want to get hurt. I decided to play the bad boy. I started acting up on her for no apparent reason. i felt behaving like the "tough" guy everyone says attracts girls was gonna work. I was wrong. i began to scare her away. I started making her cry. I started getting annoyed with her over the smallest offence, things that weren't worth it at all. I thought I was being the bad guy all ladies love.

One day, after a particularly nasty argument, she got up and left. I didn't hear from her for almost a week. I didn't see her in school either. I tried calling her several times but she never picked up. She sent me an email -

*****

You're scaring me. You used to be a very sweet, understanding guy. I don't know this animal you have become. Where did the man I fell in love with go? I don't know you anymore.

*****

I felt really bad. I knew this wasn't me. I know she didn't deserve all I the shit I gave her. What do I do? I know I owe her an apology. She's the girl of my dreams and I don't want to lose her, but at the same time I don't want to open my heart to another girl and be dashed again. Pleae help.
It's only human to be afraid but to live in fear is worse than death. No two people are the same, why not give her the opportunity u have extended to others but with some restrain and watch out for any sign of deja vu.

Family › Re: What Happened On My Way To Work This Morning by Apina(m):
Prognose:
Inasmuch as I am firmly opposed to feminism, the way fellow men behave nowadays is nothing to write home about.

I was on a bus to my place of work this morning. I sat at the back and other passengers joined. Seated beside me was this teenage girl, quite pretty, simple dressing in a blouse and skirt that ended well below her knees. Despite the fact that she didn't wear any makeup, the Good book will say "she was pleasant to look at."

Her harassment started from the park. The conductor kept on making rude, intimidating remarks at her, whether that was his method of 'toasting' I don't know. The driver offered to let her drive for n50 less than the normal amount. That was a nice gesture, true, but purely unnecessary. It clearly made her uncomfortable. Keep in mind that this girl was well dressed, wore a pink gown with frilled short sleeves and a collar that hid her average sized boobs very well. Her bum was nothing to write home about later. It was her face that was more than averagely beautiful.

After about 20mins driving in traffic, we got to a popular bus stop and passengers from the front alighted. We waited a bit for more passengers to fill the front seat.

All of a sudden three guys who were passing by the bus stopped. One of them reached in and pointed directly at the girl, as in, in-her-face pointing at her and said "See fine gyal!"

I was shocked, as we're others on the bus. It looked for a moment as if he literally wanted to drag her out of the bus to 'admire' her. She on her part shifted quickly away from his reach while those of us at the back shouted on him. He laughed and went on his way with his other laughing buddies.

Na wa oh. Don't we as men have self control again? How would you feel if someone did something like that to your sister? Made her feel uncomfortable and threatened that way? That girl couldn't have been more than 15 years old and the men around her were just acting like animals!

Please guys let's have some self control. The reason why there is a feminist movement in the first place is because the oppression and misbehaviour by irresponsible men was becoming too much. Let's salvage our leadership and become leaders once more, men that women would want to respect, love and cherish.
Thanks
What has sexual harassment got to do with feminism? You speak about feminism as though there's a definition for it. It would be proper that u tell us what feminism is about and how it relates to the incident.

Hey guys,

I'm in my mid 20's and i've been working for a few years now, my current salary is very decent and i'm striving to earn more. Obviously at my age, i'm thinking of the long term which obviously includes my career but i'm also looking forward to and marriage and kids. However, the vast majority of guys i've met are either not ready for the long term, or they're still in their 'struggling' phase.

Is it bad that I want someone who is at least on the same level as me, or maybe even slightly below? Am I a 'gold-digger' because i don't really want to 'eat garri' with a guy before he blows? I've dated these guys before but even till now their level hasn't changed much despite all their talk about potential.

I don't mind having to split the bill once in a while or even contribute but i'm a lady that's used to certain tastes. My family isn't Dangote rich but we're doing quite well, and i'd like to continue living that life or at least not drop too far below. What do you guys think? Do I keep looking for these 'almost/made guys'(can anyone tell me where to find them? lol) or do I settle for a struggler.

so in order to know how much he loves me, I lied to him that I was pregnant and there is no way I am going for abortion (I intend keeping it) . he quickly suggested that I should flush it or else his hands are off, that I want to tie him down with pregnancy... infact he said alot of things. I was really hurt by his words and that made me very angry and I warned him never to call my line again. the way he changed all of a sudden, surprised me. he is 23 and I am 22

I know I went too far, but I miss him now and his numbers has been off since.

I need your advice pls
I don't know what he actually said but if I were him, I might have said worse. How would u get pregnant @ 22 when its just bf/gf relationship? Even if it was meant to be a test, I'm pregnant is equal to cardiac arrest for a guy who isn't ur husband. Just learn ur lessons from this incident and use a condom for Gods sake, its just #50, there are conditions worse than pregnancy.
Romance › Re: Getting Married To A Man Who Earns 35,000 As Salary by Apina(m): 1:35pm On Sep 05, 2017
DouglasH92:
You are the one who is pathetic. Go and marry your 35,000 a month husband and I'm sure your children would thank you for that. This isn't about me. I never said anything about the kind of life I live. You are the one making baseless assumptions. If I was earning 35,000, I wouldn't be thinking of marriage. That's stupidity. And if you'd settle down with someone who earns that low then it means you are stupid as well.

It's obvious you are still living with your parents and collecting allowance from them. No one living independently would have the kind of opinion you and your hypocritical ilk have. What in seven hells can 35,000 do for a family in a month? And you keep talking about him earning better in the future, but when exactly would this happen? How long would you and your children manage with him till he earns better? What kind of future would your children have if he doesn't earn better in intervening years?

The problem with you is that you are playing probability game with your future and that of your children. You build a future from a strong foundation, not from a weak one.
You are just being myopic like most peeps who have based the success of getting and staying married solely on ones financial standing at a point in time. It's comments like these that deceives the female folks into thinking they need not contribute anything financial to the Union. 35+35=70k, theres no reason why resources from both sides cannot be put into running the house. A woman who cannot contribute or support in the financial aspect of running the family is most certainly to have no say in the decision making process and that's why most are treated like slaves in their homes.

Goodday my fellow nairalanders...
Am not sure anyone have found his or herself in an unwanted relationship just as mine.. Despite the sleepless night, headache and pain you are passing through, you still find it difficult to quit....

The last i have a serious relationship was far back in 2012. The girl cheat alot and i do forgive her of her unrightousness...
She was impregnated while am away for my Nysc, thats how the story end.

Ever since i only date without loving. Countless of ladies have come my way and gone without having a regret for lossing any.
Not that am treating them badly bcoz of my experience,bt i dont just have the zeal to love.

I meet these young lady through a friend on this blessed evening(though,i do see her occassionally bt we dont talk, only exchange greetings). Things started well and perfect. I love her whole heartedly from the onset she told me YES. Within myself,i thought av meet the Mrs RIGHT.

As times goes on,i get to know her better. She was into multiple relationship. She played her game so smart that i doubt am judging her wrongly.

I was chanced to go through her phone one day. I went through the inbox,i found nothing(even all the love msgs i sent to her wasnt there).

Decide to go through her sent item, there i found alot of msgs she sent out to people....

I comfronted her with the msgs and she got angry, saying she didnt want to hurt me by saying she was into multiple relationship before she met me and that she has been trying to quit them all.

I keep observing her behaviour since then. I observe when any of them called her,she either tell them to call back or she just talk to them like a normal friend, hang up on them without them concluding their converstion, give wrong response to their question or pretend the ntwk is bad.

This days she has been acting such way to me which make me think she is seeing them behind me. She missed my calls often this days especially weekends and late in the evening on weekly basis.

I complained but she act too smart and use the word ARE YOU DOUBTING ME which weak me most time.

I wish i could quit but the love i have for her is holding me down. I knw she wasnt the right person for me but i dont know why am still staying with her.

I lost the zeal to date any other lady since i met her.each time i tried to force my way,she will act straight and i will drop the ambition...

I place her high on my heart and its affecting me negatively.
I know the best i should do is to quit, but whats holding me down,i really dont know..

As anyone found him or herself in this situation? How did you overcome the problem?

Pls help a save a soul...
Thanks
