Foreign Affairs › Re: Must Read JUST IN!- Britain And Europe: A Cantankerous Relationship by Appleyard(m): 2:24pm On Jun 30, 2016 |
Chibuike56: THE political uproar that saw Thursday’s decision by the majority of British voters to exit the European Union was about at the same level as the upheaval that preceded a similar referendumthat formalised Britain’s entry into Europe in 1975. The decision of Prime Minister David Cameron to resign as leader of the Conservative Party and as such, prime minister, bears a parallel to the rebellion that Prime Minister Harold Wilson faced in the days leading to the referendum on the ratification of British membership of the EEC in 1975. Just as with the 2016 referendum, the 1975 referendum was the first time in modern history that the historical mantra of collective cabinet responsibility was ditched as senior leaders of the then ruling Labour Party took to opposite sides in the campaign on ratifying the membership of the EEC. Indeed, the story of Britain and Europe has been one of mutual suspicion undoubtedly flamed by the historical rivalry between the engine drivers of the EU and Britain. At the end of the Second World War, the momentum towards unifying Europe through trade linkages led to the formation of the European Coal and Steel Community in 1951 with France, Italy, West Germany and the Benelux countries, namely, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg as members. Improved production Britain at that time preoccupied with its devotions to the Commonwealth, and also increasingly looking west towards the United States, refused to join, though it was invited. The ECSC helped to create a common market for coal and later for steel. The benefit of the ECSC was seen in improved production of steel, a vital component of post-war technological advancement. That led the member countries towards talks on a common market for all goods. This was agreed in March 1957 with the Treaty of Rome which gave birth to the European Economic Community, EEC, which formally took effect on January 1, 1958. It was about this time that British consideration towards Europe began to change. However, Britain’s application to join the new body was repeatedly vetoed by the French President, General Charles de Gaulle. It was the suggestion in several quarters that the French president had a natural detestation for the British who ironically hosted him during the war years. However, Mr. de Gaulle was to explain privately that his opposition and veto of British membership of the EEC was on the logical assumption that Britain at that time could not mortgage her interests in the Commonwealth for Europe. The French veto was only removed in 1969 after de Gaulle’s exit from power when his successor Mr. Georges Pompidou gave French assent for the commencement of talks with Britain which were at that time led by Mr. Edward Heath, who remarkably took Britain into the EEC as prime minister in 1973. In the days leading to the formal entry of Britain into the EEC, the debate on the manner of entry led to a great uproar among the political class leading to internal divisions in the two leading parties, Labour, and Conservative. Following the political rumpus that followed the entry, Prime Minister Heath of the Conservative Party called for a post entry general election in February 1974. Though his party won the majority of votes, Labour won four more parliamentary seats forcing the prime minister to call for a second election in October 1974 which was decisively won by Labour. Labour had campaigned with the promise of renegotiating the terms of British entry into the EEC and to subject the renegotiated terms to a referendum. That promise enticed the majority of the voters in the first nationwide referendum ever called in Britain. 65% of the voters ratified Britain’s membership of the EEC and thus commenced the suspicious relationship that continued for most of the rest of the 20th century and the first decades of the 21st century. At the heart of the opposition to the British presence in Europe was the fear of a federal Europe That is quite correct. The opposition's fear was well founded, considering the revelations on the ungoing plans to create a Super Europe; plans that was recently leaked in Poland. |

Foreign Affairs › Busted: Plan To Create A European Super State Leaked In Poland by Appleyard(op): 1:42pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
Nigel Farage was right afterall: the EU was aiming to be like Hitler's Germany -dictarorial and eroding the sovereignty of nations without considering the prevailing heterogeneous atmosphere in culture, beliefs and ideological differences of the component states. The end result would be "a Brussel diktat" as against the divergent interest and perceptions of the various states - a complete example of authoritarianism. Little wonder the Brits took to their heels before the ugly day of reckoning brakes forth. European SUPERSTATE to be unveiled: EU nations 'to be morphed into one.
Source: express.co.uk
The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an “ultimatum”.
Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels. Controversially member states would also lose what few controls they have left over their own borders, including the procedure for admitting and relocating refugees.
The plot has sparked fury and panic in Poland - a traditional ally of Britain in the fight against federalism - after being leaked to Polish news channel TVP Info.
The public broadcaster reports that the bombshell proposal will be presented to a meeting of the Visegrad group of countries - made up of Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia - by German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier later today. Excerpts of the nine-page report were published today as the leaders of Germany, France and Italy met in Berlin for Brexit crisis talks.
In the preamble to the text the two ministers write: "Our countries share a common destiny and a common set of values ??that give rise to an even closer union between our citizens. We will therefore strive for a political union in Europe and invite the next Europeans to participate in this venture."
The revelations come just days after Britain shook the Brussels establishment by voting to leave the European Union in a move some have predicted could leave to the break-up of the EU.
A number of member states are deeply unhappy about the creeping federalism of the European project with anti-EU sentiments running high in eastern Europe, Scandinavia and France.
Responding to the plot Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski raged: "This is not a good solution, of course, because from the time the EU was invented a lot has changed.
“The mood in European societies is different. Europe and our voters do not want to give the Union over into the hands of technocrats.
“Therefore, I want to talk about this, whether this really is the right recipe right now in the context of a Brexit." There are deep divides at the heart of the EU at the moment over how to proceed with the project in light of the Brexit vote.
Some figures have cautioned against trying to force through further political integration, warning that to do so against the wishes of the European people will only fuel further Eurosceptic feeling.
A few weeks before the Brexit vote European Council president Donald Tusk warned that European citizens did not share the enthusiasm of some of their leaders for “a utopia of Europe without conflicting interests and ambitions, a utopia of Europe imposing its own values on the external world, a utopia of Euro-Asian unity”. He added: “Increasingly louder are those who question the very principle of a united Europe. The spectre of a break-up is haunting Europe and a vision of a federation doesn’t seem to me to be the best answer to it.”
His view was backed up by the leader of the eurozone countries, Dutch politician Jerome Dijsselbloem, who added: “In the eurozone some are pushing for a completion of the monetary union by creating a full political union, a euro area economic government or even a euro budget… to me it is obvious.
“We need to strengthen what we have and finish it, but let’s not build more extensions to the European house while it is so unstable.”
Meanwhile Lorenzo Condign, the former director general of Italy’s treasury, has said it is nearly impossible to see Europe opting for more integration at such a time of upheaval.
He said: “It seems difficult to imagine that the rest of the EU will close ranks and move in the direction of greater integration quickly. Simply, there is no political will.
“Indeed, the risk is exactly the opposite - namely that centrifugal forces will prevail and make integration even more difficult.” But others see the Brexit vote as an opportunity to push ahead with the European elite’s long-cherished dream of creating a United States of Europe.
Spain’s foreign minister Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo has called for “more Europe” whilst Italy’s finance minister, Carlo Padoan, is advocating a common budget for the eurozone states.
And Emmanuel Macron, France’s economy minister, wants to go even further and set up a common eurozone treasury which would oversee the permanent transfer of funds from wealthier northern Europe to shore up Mediterranean economies. |

It has been facing a ugly defeat and this is the reason the mad people decided to shoot itself in the leg by pushing the baltics to commit suicide and also romania..
The good news is Russia has finally replied the Romania missile defense system. Britain is slightly getting out of the evil empire, a strong message to the evil empire is the recent BREXIT. A strong blow and a dent to the evil empire's ambition.
Russia recently signed in an anti-terrorism bill. "This anti-terrorism bill is actually in its essence the most powerful anti-neocon and anti-neo-liberal law ever.
The reaction of Washington funded “non-systemic opposition” to this bill is hysterical in a true medical sense of the word. It’s a huge victory for all good people over Washington, London, but not over Tel-Aviv, yet. It’s a huge victory for the supporters of President Putin. It’s huge victory for the Russia’s law enforcement. It’s like 1937 for neocons and CIA agents.
Unfortunately, it’s not a purge of the Mossad agents. They still can live in Russia, have citizenship, and work against Russia freely. Unfortunately, the Israel Defense Forces, Tzahal trained murderers can move to Russia and live and wait for a command to start shooting crowds, like they had done in Kiev. And, just like in Ukraine they blamed Yanukovych’s government for the murders. They will try to blame the government of Russia. I wrote about Israeli Tzahal servicemen burning Russians in Odessa
Hopefully, they will get them all, soon.
On saker's recent siterep
The Russian Foreign Ministry has demanded legal guarantees that the United States’ missile shield is not aimed against Russia. (See how advance country do, what Abacha could have done during his time but the zionist, neocos outsmart him with Massive propaganda and the corruption propaganda still continue even after 20 years of hi death)
No one expects NATO to respond, of course. Why was this done?
The same day PM Medvedev signed a law allowing to utilize intercontinental ballistic missiles by shooting them.
The bill emphasizes that “the destruction of weapons and military equipment is an exceptional measure and applies to arms and military equipment, which is financially unfeasible to recycle, and in respect of weapons and military equipment, which according to its technical condition cannot be transferred for disposal”.
“Utilization of Intercontinental ballistic missiles, technically suitable for the functional use may be carried out by the method of the launch of such missiles“, – is stipulated in the government decree.
Hehe…
Back during his visit to Greece, president Putin gave what he called “the last warning.” The request for legally binding reassurance is not a threat of any sort. Everyone understands that this reassurance will never be given by the US and NATO. However, now they will not be able to lie and say that those anti-missile systems weren’t directed at Russia. So, if one beautiful Saturday night, the ballistic missile launch base in Romania is blown up, it wouldn’t be anything but a routine utilization of an intercontinental ballistic missile gone wrong. Badass Russia. |

Zoharariel: I thought Missy89 & ValerianSteel said Putin would be the loser? Pls pardon my rebellious Mistress, self-delusion have always been the bulk of their audacious mendacity. Russia is a grandmaster of the geopolitikal game, and Erdogan is just realising it. As am typing now, Turkey is still searching for market for their ''caveat emptor'' goods, while various operators in its tourist sector are anguishly counting their customers and losses. And as if that is not enough, all of Turkey's financial and human resources committed to its interest in Syria, has so far, proved to be wasted efforts, with goals untenable. I knew Erdogan would cave in sooner than later, especially when in April, they suddenly ''found'' and ''arrested'' the pilot killer, after four months, in a certain ''hotel'' in Ankara... Every sensible person back then could see that they were shamefully trying to appease and appeal to the Kremlin, and now that it is fully out, i believe people like us have been proven right. Nevertheless, a lot of differences still exist between the two nations as far as Syria is concerned, and i wonder what sort of compromise and detente they are expecting from the Russians, following this new development. Maybe they have gotten wind of the theory that the US is planning to split Syria and create a kurdistan in that part of it, which in no doubt, is the last thing Turkey ever wanted to happen, as it would completely destroy all of Erdogan's dream of a sunni state-like domino in the mideast. Well, we can only wait and hope for the better, because i don't see Russia ceding any of its interst in Syria to Turkey. Perhaps Turkey is only throwing in the trowel now for the sake of its economy, and if that is the case, then i must say, its a wise thing to do. Goodluck to them and peace to the God forsaken and Satan rejected MidEast. |

The EU has entered a phase of no return. This is what happens when leaders who called themselves democrats, yet becomes subservients and willing puppets for someone else to use, as against the interest of their own people. When the German minister of foreign affairs labelled NATO's activities in the East as "warmongering", with Merkel and Hollande rushing to make an emergency trip to Russia in respect of that, all goes to show that, Europe as a union, has been working against its own interest for long now, and that the madness of their folly is increasingly becoming clearer and dangerous. Farage once said that the EU is gradually becoming like Hitler' Germany; and it becomes. Even clearer that a lot of folks are waking up to this reality when you consider that, in the just concluded Brexit vote, one British Army Commander confessed that, his entire batallion of soldiers that went to the polls to vote, all said that they cannot be use to fight American wars and realise American interest against their own national and personal interests. And so, all of them went and voted for the "leave" side. And to undercore the importance of their seriousness, they all went with their own ink-pen, because they felt that since the vote is done by pencil, theirs could be changed or simply erased. So they voted with their own inks.
You can imagine that.
The truth now is; if the EU fails to restructured in line with realities instead of working as willing tools and puppets, the bloc will end up like the Soviet Union that failed to see reality in place of fiction. The EU is already on that pact. |

Zoharariel: Let us not get ahead of ourselves here. I do not hate Amerika because of her economic, technological & military mights.
My reasons for despising Amerika are as innumerable as the sands on the seashore but I'll just give you a few.
I hate Amerika because she invaded Iraq & Afghanistan on false pretext.
I hate Amerika because she preaches democracy, whereas she is in the business of toppling & subverting foreign governments that do not do her biddings (Democratic or otherwise) such as Iran in 1953, Guatemala in 1954, Congo in 1960, Dominican Republic in 1961, South Vietnam in 1963, Brazil in 1964, Chile in 1973.
I hate Amerika because she is responsible for all the chaos & anarchy in the world. Middle East, Africa, Korean Peninsula, South China Sean, Baltics.
I hate Amerika because she is the financier of all terrorist organizations in the world - and yes including Boko Haram.
I hate Amerika because her double standards & duplicity are unparalleled.
I hate Amerika because she is the land of the sheeple & home of the slaves.
I hate Amerika because she was responsible for the downing of the Malaysian MH-17 in Ukraine.
I hate Amerika because she hijacked the missing Malaysia MH-370 & kept it in Diego Garcia.
I hate Amerika because she preaches a faith in God and a belief in Satan.
And I will continue to hate Amerika until she falls & burns to ashes; but if you think hosting me in Chicago & treating me to a delicious banquet would change my perception about Amerika, then you need a brain transplant.
Meanwhile, I will continue to love & support Vladimirovich Putin with my unflinching loyalty for boldly & confidently standing up against the tyranny, lawlessness & conspiracy of Amerika. Thanks for your offer by the way. He that have an ear, let him hear what the spirit sayeth through the mouth of the Prophet... When people all over the world talked about America, you will hear some Americans like my rebellious wife, telling you that people hate America because they are jealous of its wealth and freedom, but they are always wrong, and i don't blame them, because many of these innocent people don't travel out that much, nor study alternative news and information sources, and as such, are not conversant with the evils and mayhem their government is doing abroad in their names. America's horror interventionism and tnppling of governments abroad since 1953 till date, is the major reason why America is so hated all over the world, and trying to impose its will and lifestyle on the rest of mankind, further exercabated the whole level of that hatred. Its even on record that after when Nigeria and Ghana criminalized homosexualism, the likes of Cameron and some US officials threatens to suspend certain levels of aids, such as in HIV, and other support to Ghana and of course, we saw that intent against Nigeria when they wickedly refuse to help with the Ebola trial vaccine, simply for refusing to officially copy their lifestyle, instead, choosing to mentain the status quo by nature, as against western satanic aberration of ''democratic right.'' (Little wonder you are now officially licenced to have ''sexual relations'' with animals in Canada, just as it is your right to walk up and down and engage in normal activities while completely unclad, in Australia.) and when you dare speak out, some kids will tag you as being jealous. (Very pathetic.) These are some of the ''virtues'' the US-led west want the rest of the world to imbibe in the name of rights, forgeting why there is need for a government and blatantly negating the multipolar nature of the world in culture, religion, economic, and socio-political history and ideological differences among the nations and people thereof. It wasn't a child's play that the US was voted and is today seen as the Greatest Threat to World Peace. Since man is always Unique and mentally alert to its immediate environment and survival instinct, the resistance (such as the likes from Russia and China) will continue to gain momemtum, and every rational, mentally stabled and critical thinker men like us , will continue to stand up against this hordes of hell that are matching. For we can do nothing but for the truth, and the truth is: THE UNITED STATE Government and its Satan Controlled Foreign Policy that centred on Global Hegemony, is THE ONLY TERRORIST WE HAVE IN THE WORLD THAT THREATENS THE GLOBAL PEACEFUL ORDER. |

Lucasbalo: Appleyard, , talking about Russian stuff in Cuba, it's a no go area. Been to Cuba twice on missionary projects with my church. There is nothing about Russian stuff in Cuba to write home about. The only reason the Castro brothers allowed those inferior Russian made cars and goods is because of the economic and political blockage of US. America is not only a military superpower, she's economic and technology superpower. Tell me any other country in the world that can lay a claim to that. You guys can deride America all you want, it doesn't take away from her greatness. You just need to live in US or visit for a few weeks to know the greatness of what a country should be. Here in US, we don't have vodka for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The greatest companies in the world are in US. The Google you America hating guys use is an American innovation. The internet is an American invention. $$$ is a world wide currency unlike the worthless Russian money that you won't even pickup if you see it on the street. The semi dictator in Russia won't even argue about US superiority . I challenge any of you guys to come to Chicago and I will host you for couple weeks and your hatred of US will turn to adoration. That's my challenge to you and my favorite Crown Prince. Dear Lucasbalo, possessor of a saving basket full of money; it is you i great. I know how you love America, and you have every reason to love it. By now you ought to have known the kind of person i am by my postulations. I am not a jingoist or a warmongering and trigger drunk kid like some of the brethren we have down here. I deal on facts and logical reasoning, and as a human, i may also make mistakes. I believe above all things, Spiritualism, pertaining to global events and the ordering of human course of action and inaction by the powers that be, and this much has informed my thematic posture in views as it relates to the likes of Russia, China, Isreal, and the US. These nations (whether we like it or not) are the time-piece that would dictate the winding up of the Gentile dispensation. I know you may not understand, and you cannot be blamed for that. We all have our own pacts set out for us according to the paths we have chosen. But be it know to thee, O Lucasbalo, that the United States has been programmed to be the LAST SUPERPOWER on earth, and its fate (to come from across the great waters) have been Sealed. Please study more on this issues and ask questions about them. This is a passionate appeal coming from a very concerned friend. Just do your bit on researching on the above. It won't take a dime from you if you do. Time is very short. Now, speaking as an analyst, whenever you see me engaging some folks here in matters relating to Russia and The US, it wasn't becos i hate the US as a nation: No, For that would be very inhuman of me, becos the US as a nation constitute of at least, 300 million people, most of which are just plain innocents, and don't even know the horrors of their government. But i hate the US as a government for the same reasons that are already known to you. If the US was voted as the greatest threat to world peace, then you can understand why the increasing rife in resentment. US military interventionism has brought much destruction to many parts of the world, and when you see people chanting for the likes of Russia and China resisting the US here and there, its not becos they also don't have their own problems, nor that life in Russia or China is the best, far from it; but its simply becos people are fed up or getting fed up already. And you know that to be the truth. The US was, and is, since 1990, the only Superpower around. But when that superpower tells you he is afraid of a particular threat, then know he is talking reality. Russia is the only country that can exterminate the US, and vise versa. Yet, this is a fact which the various delusionist we have down here don't want you to believe, even when they knew quite well that, THERE CAN NEVER BE A CONVENTIONAL WAR BETWEEN THE TWO. And this is the primary fallacy, inter alia, why i am always ready to challenge their diabolic blindman naratives, becos these trolls like the madmen we have as leaders, are poised in pushing the two, and consequently the rest of mankind into extermination suicide mission of no return. Nothing more, nothing less. Live in peace. God bless. |

ValerianSteel: Ermm it's either you came from Mars or you are just being hypocritically stu-pid.
I'd go with the later cause your pandering is an insult on any human who knows where the map of US and Russia is on the globe.
I won't bother with list of how far Russia is to the United States in everything, just read this and let it sink.
"Russia is in no way anywhere near comparable to the United States of America in any sector, culture, way of life, technology, economy, education, military. The US is a million times more advanced than Russia and Russia is of no equal footing or close to a footing with top ten contenders to the United States to start with”.
You obviously know this,so stop playing on your own intelligence,I believe your brain feels insulted by your falsehood. Now, that is how you know a kid when he types. You can't even make out his rhyme when he cries.. But for the kid you are, help is always the best. So, pls, Mention one single technology known to the US that is not known to Russia. Pls take some pills to help keep you awake as you surf through your computer. Happy digging, and God bless. |
