I weep for my nation, obviously this loan is conditional as the chineese would collect back 80 percent of this money via contracts leaving us with infrastructure that wouldn't affect d life of d commom man. It must lead to a debt overhang that would condition us to use our resources(oil) to bail our selves out at dictated prices by the chineese. I need a a private jet, seriously I need to port out of 9ja b4 it gets too messy. |
Make dem dey borrow without sense ooooo! ..# cuz I'm sure it lead to a debt overhang. |

Develpoment consists of massive structural transformation, change in the pattern of production from crude to modern techniques, and the most important aspect is the use of modern day technology to achieve all the required transformations.A nation can be developed but the standard of living of her citizens would still remain low.So yes! the govt. at all levels can bring about developement without actually adressing the living conditions of her citizens, that's another topic for another day. |
Both the private and public sectors have their own quarter to contribute in the process of development. There are adverse advantages and dis-advantages to this process. Some economists believed in privitization(the transfer of public enterprise either partially or wholly to private hands) while others believed in government serving as the key element in the process of delivering development. But in my own opinion,it should be a mixed system that is the mixture of both private and public hands. If we allow the private sector do it alone, knowing very well that they hav a lot of forigen experts as their top agents this would lead to a leakage whereby earnings of these forigeners would be transported back to their country leaving us with infrastructure and little or no money in circulation. On the other hand if we allow the govt.(The public sector) do it alone, political interferance coupled with massive corruption would also weaken the system.Economic systems works differently in different countries,so don't compare the Nigerian economy to that of America. In my own opinion sustainable development can only be achieved when the activities of both the public and private sectors are properly guided, and this brings us back to the usual problems we face in all sectors of the country which includes: Transparency Accountability Political interferance And we know the rest. |
@op,you see my friend politics isn't what you read in the papers or what you watch on NTA news.Yes innocent lives were grossly taken in large numbers, sincerely from the bottom of my heart I totally CONDEM that act and would never be a party to such. But in real life politics, you calculate your moves,GEJ has done what every president in the world would do as a temporary measure in combating the baga massacre now he's on a stage where he is critically observing the outcomes of his temporary decisions. So my friend the presidency MAY pay a visit to baga in the nearest future(that's if necessary). In a country filled with opposition you'll at great danger to make shabby moves.Even as students, during SUG/inter faculty elections we sit in round tables to plan our moves tactically like a football coach before coming out to act on our laid down plans. As rightly said by some fellow comrades, the presidency is on the matter and this would serve as a warning to other cities who habour terrorists amongst them. |
Joke of the decade. Then why did you register them in the first place?,oh I get it na to coner money 4 d govt abi...*shame! |

some of you are just talking out of ignorance,i worked as a polling unit officer 1 in ward 4,and i am telling you if you see the number and faces of the deployed army officers to our unit to even think of being a ploitical thug go dey hard you.Gej should be appreciated for deploying soldiers to every ward in the state and even the streets of edo.God used him to save our lives(we the polling unit officers) and also conduct a credible and authentic election. |
I am not sure if Nigerians have realised it yet,or we are about to.From my own perspective i think the FG has already started spending the proposed removal of ''fuel subsidy''(thats if any really exists). With the present state of the Nation i think any wise person or Government would have long ago reversed it's decision on this fuel subsidy issue i.e by reversing back to the normal N65/L.The N1.4tr up till today can't be convincingly explained and i believe that the FG including the cabal has already started the sharing of this money among themselves and with the present state no-body is willing to return his/her own share. If they reverse back to the old price, truth is they can't provide the money to subsidize the product back to N65/L. So in this vain dey ''force'' their new price on us and ''foolishly'' believe we would ''stupidly'' accept. My fellow Nigerians the revolution is ''NOW''.

@kaysy,u spoke well bt those programmes normally lasts 4 6months my babe is running one computer programme like dat.it's certain dat i wouldn't finish dat programme b4 ASUU calls of d strike. @my guy wey dey play grand theft norrin do you.i hail |
The removal of fuel subsidy alongside the deadly christmas attacks by boko-haram has turned the attention of FG and also other well meaning Nigerians away from the ASUU strike.Today 4t6 jan 2012 makes it one month since the strike commenced and with the present issues arising no one is even certain when university students would resume. Yes we have heared alot of backdoor comments fron the minister of labour,i wonder where the minister of education is and probably what she's doing. It is great fustration and full grown anger i sit at home and while away time doing nothing(although most of the times i study). With the emergence of ASUU strike,boko-haram threats, now fuel subsidy coupled with NLC and TUC strike threats frankly i am begining to loose faith in Nigeria. |
mr poster,ur'e totally ignorant of d situation over here in 9ja, Give us refineries, good roads, quality education, moderate standard of living, high rate of employment, min wage of 100k, at least then we would gladly acccept n500/litre. ![]() |
wen we fail 2 look issues from both angles den we're being sentimental.fine,d okada guys are causing alot of havoc,bt some ppl use dis as a medium of earning a living for dier family nd even sending dier children 2 school(let's nt even remember d lasu school fees hike).we're complaining of boko-haram nd oda social vices,if u ban okada my guy ur'e sending thousands of men back 2 d streets nd u know wot dat is??, D solution is,give dem keke napep(tricycles) in exchage of dier okadas dat would do a alot. |
