kimbraa:A true feminist wouldn't put her life on hold for a man Kim. |
stupidity:Hello Junbi.. Remember what I told you yesterday on another thread. This brother shares the same thoughts. Aquariann: |
junbi:Sad reality Junbi.. |
junbi:Haha. Something like that. The decline will continue until we get to a point where what we complain about now becomes normal and some other crazy norms begin to worry us. Then we would refer back to these present time as "good old times". Lol. |
AvatarMode:The first step to healing is to admit you're sick, go run a lab test, visit a doctor with the test results etc.. The problem is a larger size of the society sees nothing wrong with the way things are. Today you dare not call out a kid, your friend or relative going down a wrong path without being called old school, insulted, told to mind your business, avoided or even insulted. So I honestly do not see anyway back from where our society is headed. For those who still want to raise morally upright families, it's best to seek and vet for partners with same ideals. |
junbi:Which men are you talking to? Same men raised under the same roof with these girls? Our fathers failed us all. The boys (and young men) you see today don't know jack about what it is to be a father, you know why? Because our mothers made the job of keeping the home easy for our fathers. So our fathers didn't bother to show us the way and how to handle our homes or kids. The fatherly abilities is already missing from these men you're talking about. That is why divorce rates are at an all time high these days because these men expect women to do all the work just like their mothers. But the train has since left the station. The society is no longer suppressing and ostracizing like before. 10 - 20 years from now when the kids we've sired with baby mamas all over the place grow up, we'll come to know what a society in chaos means. But for now, let's all enjoy the decline that are part of the consequences of being free to live as we want. |
Omoluabi9:True. The driver obviously panicked. |
HtwoOw:Exactly my thoughts. |
Not supporting the guy for stealing or justifying his subsequent accident/death, but it was a bad driving from the driver IMO. After hitting the guy, s/he still had plenty of time to swerve and avoid running over him after the initial impact (which might be what led to his death). You don't just stamp the break pedal and keep your legs there in emergencies, you swerve accordingly. |
seguno2:Sometimes you guys just talk like you're bereft of any education. Are we being governed by the British or American constitution for them to be used as a yardstick? |
ayaomen:Okay. |
ayaomen:What's Finster? Is that another word for rape victim? |
PenisCaP: PenisCaP: PenisCaP:Sandra Okagbue and Anna Banner (supposed Igbo princess) must be Yoruba then. Continue pointing a finger at others while your remaining fingers point back to your sisters.. |
InyinyaAgbaOku:I swear she did all that. Twas her fourth (child) delivery. Mom had already prepared her (and the delivery room) and told her to call when contractions started. |
Growing up, I witness my mom aid in the delivery of more than 20 births and depending on the time of the day, the lady usually left with her child same day or the following day.. Once, my neighbor who was in labor pushed out the baby alone in the room without any noise, then calmly strolled out to call my mom to the surprise of everyone. |
ifyalways:How can a father abandon his own blood? No calls, emotional or financial commitment Ify, these were the OP's words. And with them, she painted her husband as evil and a wizard. And yes, the fact that she mentioned he abandoned them without any care meant she wants to talk about him. We can show or pretend to all the empathy in the world to her plight, but w shouldn't also pretend not to have seen many women take the kids always from their fathers in the hope of getting back at him (possibly block all communication channels) and then turn around to say he doesn't even care about his children. At least there's (or was) a thread here about a week ago or so where the man complained about his wife running off with the kids and cutting contact despite his attempts to get access to them. So people asking about how it got to this stage aren't out of place. These were also her words: I know that I am not a perfect person but i know that i gave my all to my marriage to make it work but it didn't work out So the question is, what did she do or not do. Hardly does any sane father deliberately abandoned his kids (not saying some don't) but it's wired in the biology of men to take care of their kids. So what is madam not telling us. |
PDJT:Am I Surprised at your change of narrative? No. So do enjoy your evening sir. |
ofai:By the time we were building a thriving and modern society, your forebearers were still living in caves and covering their bodies with green leafs. |
triblehaul1:You sure you're quoting the right guy sir? You might wanna go through my post on this thread. |
PDJT:This is Exactly what I'm saying. When the first VC of UI did it, employing 95% of his tribesmen, it was okay. Stella Odua did it in the aviation ministry, it was okay. It was done again when 76 (wo)men were picked from the SE zone alone as principals out of 104, leaving 28 for the other five zones, it was okay. Only 28 other qualified Nigerians were found in the other 5 zones, hence the SE had to keep a lion share of 76 for themselves. These to you are/were effective representation. But every other zone was watching amd learning from you guys the act of nepotism (remember how leaders of other zones were killed and none from the SE was murdered in the Jan 15 coup). Now that you lost out in a game you play very well, you start crying and disturbing everyone with noise of marginalization. |
4dankey:Jeez... Nobody hates you guys. Instead you guys do the hating on others. Again, not everyone think of Igbo women as snowflakes because there's really nothing special about them. So no, I'm not married to an Igbo lady (nor any lady for that matter) and it has nothing to do with hate. Talking about being objective, Go and ask Dr Modestus Ezenwa ranting about only 2 Igbo principals out if a possible 104 when these changes were made. It was only made between January and February of this year. When 76 (confirmed) principals were appointed from the South East zone alone out if 104, with the other 5 zones sharing the rest, did he come out to complain about how unjust that act was? He also forgot only 12 colleges were un the East because his brethren were benefitting as principals all over the place. Did he complain that 45% of the budgetary allocation of the Ministry of Education were allocated to unity schools alone? No. You know why? Because majority were headed by his kinsmen and they benefitted by being at the helm of affairs. But feeling you've lost out, he's suddenly seething with anger and you're talking about objectivity. The earlier you guys learn Nigeria belongs to every tribe found in it and not just you guys, the better. Stop crying when given the same bitter pills you give others when you lose out. Simply. Nobody hates you. |
Omololu2121:Nope.. It's not. |
uchman48:Benue Links have lost their glory. Used to be very efficient early 2000s under Akume. Reckless drivers, poorly managed vehicles/buses etc. Pleasure Travels and other privately owned transport companies are the in thing in Benue now. Though Nyaya and New Nyaya are not that better, but they are doing well. Very efficient. I think about Benue links, the worry is their fares would no longer be "cheaper" than the rest. Besides, not even all the buses are owned by the state government. Private individuals register with them also. B |
LZAA:How's it my business where you come from you this wanderer from Afikpo? Should I apologize for my state of origin because it is the state you lots envy and would live to convert to yours so much? |
jusRadical:Not my issue that you failed to understand the post you quoted. Keep your wishes for yourself. |
emmysoftyou:Frustrated about the Igbos? Lol. You guys are so delusional. Who opened the thread complaining about what's happening in Zamfara unity school? Nah, I'm a proud Yoruba man from the South western state of Lagos. I have no reason to deny my origin just like I'm not a wanderer looking for something in Zamfara state. If either of Kings, Queens, FSTC Yaba or FGC Ijanikin Colleges had denied my tribesmen or statesmen admission even when qualified, I would have been bothered. . I don't give two fvcks about what happens to you lots, or what goes on in Zamfara FGCs for that matter. Once in a while, we just have to point out the hypocrisy associated with your eternal cries of injustice. Cry babies.

Turantula:No sir, I'm from the Southern part of Nigeria (I'd like to assume you are too) and I'm strongly against it and would rather things were done or positons given based on merit. But we cannot deny the fact that the present Nigerian arrangement isn't working, because even the merit system can (and would) be abused. Take for instance, currently all service chiefs save for the CDS and CNS are from the North. The south has only two, with the south east having none. The government of the day can safely argue they appointed qualified hands into all the positions held by Northerners. Would they be right? Yes. But does it seem fair? That no single south easterner was qualified enough for even one of those positions? No, not fair. The quota system was meant to address situations like this when followed in sincerity. So you see, the quota system wasn't/isn't that bad to say when applied right. Hence, nothing wrong is reducing the cut off mark for the educationally disadvantaged northern kids to be encouraged and be able to have quality education like their southern brothers. Again to show how silly the quota system can be, take the case of the super eagles team that won the last Nations cuo for Nigeria. The first (and winning) team with exception to Ahmed Musa and someone else (cant remember the name) were all from the south east. If quota system was to be applied in that team, every zone (NE, NC, NW, SS, SE,SW) should have been represented with at least two players from their zone. If a man from the SW was to be substituted he must be replaced by another SW player. It doesn't matter if one is a striker and the other a defender but the player needed at that moment was a midfielder. So you see, this is the ugly situation we find ourselves in. My solution? Let us go back to regionalism and resource control. But before then, the people who destroyed that arrangement due to greed and selfishness must apologize to the rest of the nation and stop crying victims all the time. |
Arsenella007:My bad, that was supposed to be minimum of two unity schools. A mix up of states I've had dealings with. Modified previous posts accordingly. Meanwhile, Delta, Bauchi, Kano, Jigawa, Kwara, Kogi all have two each. |
knowledgeable:You haven't answered the question of why it was implemented in the first place.. Wetin Una been dey find for other region their government matter? And secondly, why should it be reversed? Because you lost out in your own schemes at the end? |
Algebra12:For someone who doesn't know just like most states in Nigeria, the Eastern states all have 2 Unity schools each and was already trying to weep up the sentiments of his kinsmen that they have fewer unity schools, how will you know that your tribes men took 72 slots out of a possible 104 during the last administration? And two possible reasons why you didn't hear about it is because you choose not to see it as injustice to other Nigerian tribes because it favours you or simply because me and my likes didn't come to the media to cry like your trade mark. We simply waited and voted out your hero which I suggest you do too or shut up. Nobody hates you lot. Get that into your head. Play the politics you started/introduced into Nigeria i.e winner takes all. |
Algebra12:How did we get to a stage when we talk about quota system? You need to answer this question first. Secondly, you know So much about quota system, yet none of you complained when 72 of your tribes men were made principals out of a possible 104 slots. The problem is that you lot always bury your heads in the sand when the situation favour you but are the first to scream injustice when you feel you are losing. Your hypocrisy stinks. And No, the Eastern states, just like most states in Nigeria all have a minimum of two unity colleges. This information is verifiable So stop shouting like someone shortchanged. I ask again, why did Aguiyi Ironsi and co make the unification decree? What were they looking for in the North? Until you answer these questions, suck whatever you get and shut up. |
kraftyiyk:The North were okay with how things were been ran in their region, including understanding their educational challenges. They were okay with the pace with which things progressed in their region until some greedy foreigners decided to invade and take advantage of them through the back door with the infamous unification decree. Fortunately/Unfortunately (depending on where you stand), the situation turned out to favour them and they've successfully held the rest of the Nation hostage since then. My question now is, why is it that the same people who disrupted the regional arrangement and set up of the country (with the aim of overlording the rest of the nation) are always the first to cry when they feel cheated by the North? Until they answer the question of why the unification decree was passed and the motive behind it, they'll keep screaming injustice, pretending they don't know how we got to this sorry state. And no, I'm not shifting goal post. I'm just saying when ever an injustice favours them, they keep quiet, but scream the loudest when they don't have their way. Something they've always done. You know, hypocrisy. |
