Dreambeat:If there are 500k registered APC members in Lagos, all 500k members will vote for the candidate of their choice in a direct primary. Are you trying to say Ambode has no support from his own party members hence must be imposed on them like in 2014 primary elections? |
Dreambeat:You have serious issues. In the videos posted there, the man says he's not imposing anyone again on the party as he has always been accused of doing by people like you. Now he has asked them to support and vote whomever they deem fit at all level, yet you're still jerking off on his matter. What else do you want him to do? Kill himself? Oh, you still want him to impose Ambode on the party abi? So you can continue to accuse him of imposition. Ask yourself this, why is Ambode afraid of Direct primaries where there is no imposition? Or perhaps you don't even understand what direct primaries means in the first place. |
NoToPile:Yes it is. Every registered member of the party votes at the primaries at their different ward levels. That was how the APC candidate in Osun emerged. Indirect was/is the commonly used method whereby only selected delegates gets to vote for the party flag bearer, and this method is the easiest to influence or hijack by bribing the delegates. |
lokoventurex1:Before we proceed with this discussion, can you tell me what you understand by Direct primaries? |
The same Fashola and his Justice group Ambode spent the last three years trying to rubbish? All these people that will just sit down in one room in their village hundreds of kilometers from Lagos and put into writing their own speculations and wishes as facts of what's happening in Lagos. |
Esseite: Miniso:You guys are not being fair to Tinubu and you know it. You accuse the man of god fatherism and imposition of candidates and he says fine, let's have direct primaries So everyone can test his/her popularity as against using delegates (that are easily influenced), you now say no. You want him to impose Ambode again on the party. If Ambode feels he has done so well why is he scared of direct primaries? N1 trillion budget and all he has to show are bus stops and a dirty city? Besides, it is silly to think Tinubu just sit down and make proclamations and there become law in Lagos. Not at all. Tinubu is only the face of powerful ruling class Ambode had failed to recognize or tried to overrun, that's why he's scared to face them now in direct primaries. Fashola was very strict, had issues with Tinubu but still enjoyed the massive support of parry stakeholders because he got the job done. Ask yourself this, why is everyone against Ambode in Lagos, right from Alausa? |
Joyfulgal:Alright, no problem. Wish you all the best. But that woman needs to go, she's obviously a pain in the ass, something you were trying to avoid in the first place. |
Zoharariel:Oga seer, I guess same can be said of couples who do the "doggy" pose or "ass grabbing" pre-wedding shoot? |
Joyfulgal:Op, I had gone through your previous thread before making my first comment on your thread reason why I didn't call you lazy or joined those blasting you. As a matter of fact, only I offered to help by suggesting someone younger (in her 20s), if you live in Lagos and around Lekki/Ajah axis. She still gets the job done but closes daily and doesn't live with you. The least you could do was offer a simple reply. "Oh sorry, I won't be needing her", or "I'm not in Lagos" etc, but you're focused on people giving you knocks rather than who wants to help. |
Don't know about you, but I find the pictures (mischievously) creative and different. If it's not a suggestive pose, it the man grabbing the ladies butt. But this is new and we haven't seen these type before. A Peeping tom. |
Acidosis:Now this is deep. Some hard truths spoken here Acid. Calls for deep reflection. I was at my older cousin's place today with my Aunt (his mom), and the maid came out to get something from the car. I barely recognized her until she walked up to the car smiling at me. Saw her around Easter last, and I tell you what, she was glowing today. Although they have three kids (under age 7, so the extra hand is needed), my cousin works mostly from home while the wifey leaves for work very early and returns late. Nobody tell me say d guy dey press the girl. She looked very relaxed but wifey was sick (reason for the visit). Still on the above, my classmate and friend once told me there is a level of comfort her future husband must be able to provide her before he proposes as she is/was already used to that level of comfort in her dad's house. Among what she listed was a maid. Though to be fair to her, she comes from a really well to do family in Lagos. |
Joyfulgal:Hello Joy, if you're in Lagos and around Lekki/Ajah axis, I have someone I can recommend. She's a former employee of my Aunt (live-in maid). VERY hardworking, from Akwa Ibom. Good cook, Cleans well and all that ish. She now runs her own small foodstuff store and occasional petty trade but has a relative staying with her and managing the place. She told me she's looking for a house help job, but won't be live-in again. She no get wahala. Na my Aunty madness make her run .lol. Just holla if you're interested. Or anyone else. |
Sworn in.. Not swears in. |
cruchenutii:APC already adopted direct primaries for the presidential primaries long long Oga mi. Ask around of you aren't in the know. And that was why PDP protested the other day and even here on Nairaland, people were laughing at them wondering what their business was with another party's primaries method. As for Lagos, Ambode's case isn't foreclosed just yet. Too many elders have tried to intervene and I believe he still has a shot. But like Tinubu stated, it was beyond him alone. |
Jokerman:Get updated bro, APC adopted direct primaries for presidency, that's was why PDP were scared the other day shouting APC wanted to allocate figures to themselves in preparation for 2019 presidential election. Also at the state level, Lagos APC also adopted direct primaries for everyone and this include Remi Tinubu. So don't think it's for Ambode alone. |
miqos03:Fashola, (founded by his late dad) and that's the group the other contestant, Hamzat belongs to. |
clefstone:But it will be okay for Tinubu to impose Ambode on the party again like he did for the 2015 elections abi? Tinubu has no preferred candidate and left alone for him, Ambode should continue. But party members said no, let's go for direct primaries and decide that. By this, every registered APC party member (both of Justice, Mandate and Ambode's group) will vote as against selected delegates which can easily be influenced. Ambode shouldn't fret because of direct primaries since he has done so well. And besides, second term is not a guaranteed right of any politician. Having said that, Nigerians should be happy for the introduction/adoption of direct primaries by the APC because they'll be the ones to benefit from it in the long run and it is the easiest way to end god fatherism from our politics. From subsequent elections, more states and parties will have no choice to adopt the direct primaries method and elected officials will struggle to live up to the billing as they know they cannot influence delegates and their performances/track records, will speak for them. |
Rapmoney:Baba Rapmoney, greetings to you sir. Baba it's been a while you created a thread to share your wisdom with us o. |
desmond2pk:My brother, the thing tire me o. Sometimes earlier in the year, I blasted him about this bus stop issue, people called me ipob. Now if i talk, the same ipob people are asking me since when did i know Ambode is a failure? Over N1 trillion budget and all he has to show are bus stops? Na wa o. By this time, Fashola was already commissioning schools, hospitals, low cost housing schemes, fixing and cleaning roads etc. |
Lol. Ambode's issue is not with Tinubu. Ambode's issue is with Lagos APC and even just the mandate group. That is why Tinubu cannot impose him again this time around. Besides his abysmal performance vis-a-vis available resources, he stepped on so many toes, tried to rubbish Fashola (whom he has always deliberately failed to recognize as a Lagos ex governor), very pompous, kept a fellow SW governor waiting in his office etc.. Also, if Visionless Scape had lived up to the billing, it would have been ok that he cancelled LAWMA which puts food in the belle of thousands of party faithfuls and their families. This includes all those women we used to see early mornings adorning the Lawma's orange dress cleaning the streets. You don't expect a foreign company to know how to clean Isale Eko like the locals. Party faithfuls were groaning but bade their time till this moment to show him something. Like Tinubu himself said, this is beyond him. So you can't accuse Tinubu of imposition in one breathe, and in the second breathe you want him to impose Ambode on the party when he's clearly not wanted by the whole party faithfuls. If Ambode believes he has done so well like the people supporting him would want us to believe, then he shouldn't fret about the direct primaries. |
comshots:Sorry, there are no delegates. Every APC member in Lagos will vote. That's why it's direct primaries. Only indirect primaries uses delegates. Ambode knows he hasn't done well and is not popular in APC that's why he is running about. |
Sissy... Effeminate mam.. No wonder he wears pink and uses a pink bed. |
obi4eze:Wait o, you didn't understand what you read up there abi what exactly? The electronic card reader was not added to what was sent to the president for assent by the NASS rather than ask the NASS members why they deliberately omitted it, you're asking if the president is averse to it. How can he be against what was not even given to him in the first place. Anyways in case you missed it, the president has already answered your question, he is not against it. Rather Saraki led NASS are so they can write figures in the SS/SE as usual http://saharareporters.com/2018/08/16/i%25E2%2580%2599m-not-against-use-pvc-card-readers-%25E2%2580%2593-buhari&sa=U&ved=0ahUKEwiCrsmdw7jdAhVHFjQIHUdCABkQFggSMAQ&usg=AOvVaw1kZhAYAFSRoFVBfNroyYie https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/09/electoral-act-amendment-bill-card-reader-tool-for-credible-polls-presidency/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C7465291995 |
magoo10: Chri08102702694:Yet the last PDP senator dumped the party for APC. Meaning APC has all three senators. No worry, Amaechi and Flag will handle Wike with the same Federal might that brought him to power. |
bighorlus:My brother, I just dey laugh since. Even Buhari no fit intervene for this matter. It can only be resolved in-house. APC Lagos has long gone beyond just Tinubu. It's a Cartel of which he is just the face of the Cartel. Understanding that every single public Car parking space (in the markets), every bus stop, every route, every street, every estate has been shared same way LAWMA wastes collection i.e the PSP thingy Ambode canceled in favour of Vision Scape. Like the part of your post I highlighted, all these are part of the ways the party utilizes in servicing party chieftains from the grassroots to top level. Ambode's cancellation of LAWMA and the attempt to remove public transporters (danfo) is being seen as an affront to the leaders of the party (not just Tinubu) as they believe (and rightly so) that he wants to form a new structure. That is why the support for the new guy is very loud |
slivertongue:Oga, how is she de-marketing her community by what she said? Is this to say everyone commenting on this topic up there didn't read the article or read but just didn't understand? |
oluwaseunla:Thanks for this Seun. I thought it was the right thing to do but just had to be sure and get expert opinion. |
Please just to be clear and to learn for future references, how does one tow an automatic car? Let's assume you're travelling and it breakdowns on the highway and it's already late and you can't afford to leave the car on the highway? Ps: We've owned only manual trannies and only recently added one auto tranny. Just last month on a trip from Kaduna to Lag, my elder bro and old boy had a breakdown, somewhere before Gwags and had to tow into Gwags. The car has a manual transmission. But assuming it was auto, how should they have done it? |
Buterflyle0:Without the card readers, they can successfully come up with figures like the last elections. |
A welcome development. Na their money so pay them. Even the Good Books says a worker deserves his wages. My company has been owing just last month's salary and today at the office my subordinates were just staring at me and asking Oga how far na. Nothing dey house o, E don red for us. School don resume etc. I just gave them hope that this week when I wasn't even sure. Lol. But as I just got to my gate this evening, alert enter. Though I have no responsibility and wasn't exactly broke myself (cos of plenty side hustles), I was happy for my colleagues and their families. Same way I share in the joy of this news for Osun workers So nobody should mention vote buying here. Na d workers money. What better time to get all your backlog of salaries than when kids are resuming school. |
richidinho:The card reader was not included in the bill that was why the presidency rejected it. Wike and the PDP are only playing to the gallery. The question should be why did the senators exclude the card readers from the bill? https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/09/no-card-reader-in-current-electoral-act-amendment-bill-presidency/?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C8667956702 |
Something tells me Saraki is actually working towards a Kwankwaso or Tambulwa ticket by joining the race. How is this possible? My theory is that he and who ever he is working for (i.e between Tambulwa or Kwankwaso) realizes Atiku is/was the man to beat and that his support comes mainly from the SE (whose leaders in PDP openly endorsed him sometimes back). So Saraki also knowing he is loved by the SE simply joined to kill and spoil Atiku's chances by splitting the SE delegates votes between himself and Atiku. SW delegates are likely to vote Tambulwa over Atiku/Kwankwaso and Wike's SS delegates too would votes Tambulwa added to whatever votes he'll get from his and other zones. I think Tambulwa is the man. |
