Dog is and will remain an animal despite the love most of us have for it so there is nothing wrong with the word DOG business.
A fulani man sees cattle as family yet they rear it, even worse still people rear dogs for meat and so every other animal.

You have a point tho...I'll assume you're not a dog lover either, cos you just proved it....Don't forget all humans also belong to the animal kingdom, the fact that we are given a higher privilege by the Most High doesn't mean we should treat all other animals as being unequal...

Why are U guys always against anybody that wants to be a breeder?
Brother I advise u meet breeders around ur area and ask that question cos here, U will be discouraged, remember to get the disadvantages in full o and not just the sweet millions that are only heard and not seen.

I'm not against him wanting to be a breeder, I'm against the idea of going into breeding for monetary benefits, I hate the idea of people seeing breeding as a business...

Read his first line..."I intend to venture into dog business"...That sounds annoying sort of...

Please don't venture into it, run while u still can... Breeding isn't meant for the greedy!!!!

Just keep in mind that u can't be fed into a breeding programme... They could be good as guard dogs or prolly pets, but never can be bred... CHEERS!!!

FYI, the dogs are crossed and i have been refunded as agreed with the guy and also kept the dos.
however i will still post their pix and the pix of the newly acquired one

Please stop contradicting urself and accept you were wrong!!! Did u read ur post that I initially quoted? You claimed ur quack VET confirmed the purity of the pup and that u were sure because it was sold to you by ur Lebanese colleague...

Anyways, I hands off now, just want people to learn thru you, always take criticisms as a medium of advancement and leverage on ur spotted weaknesses... Just so you may know, those 3 pups u posted are all Mongrels in the making... The 3 of them put together shouldn't be more than 3,500 Naira...

NOTE TO ALL:
The fact that a pup looks cute at the moment doesn't mean they will retain those features when fully grown, always endeavor to seek advice before choosing ur pup.

I don't know if I belong in here, not sure I'm one but I know I'm close to being one...

When I was growing up, I found out I'm happier staying all by myself than hanging out with family or friends. I grew into a shy n timid man... I live a solitary life, no friends, no social life, I have some social habits tho.... If I'm not at work, then I'm indoors, either with my dogs or on a film... I can't face a crowd, I get tongue-tied, I begin to look for ways around words... I can't look straight into people's eyes or lock a gaze for more than 5secs max. I found out I' can be a better friend over the net... I withdraw myself from people avoiding physical contact as much as possible, I re-schedule appointments, not because I'm busy, but because I feel I'm not ready to face the person at that time... So people tagged me a snub, some say I'm proud, many think I'm full of myself but I say I'M NORMAL.

To make up for my shyness and cover up for the attitude, I developed this wonderful sense of humor.... I'll give an example...
Like on a Monday morning at work, upon seeing a colleague, I will pass a funny comment about her dressing or beauty, the type of comment that leaves you blushing, so before she's had the chance to recover from the blow, I'll be out of sight and in my confines again...

I also have several other strategies I use but it has only helped a bit... I'd appreciate other means I can learn in here.

update.
I bought the dog from a Lebanese colleague in the office.
upon further inquiry, I was convinced that the dogs are gsd aside goggle search and visit to the Veterinary Doctor who does treatment for him.
in fact, i was taken to see the first owner of the sire which happen to be in her third generation.
The stud was imported from France during his holiday visit which i am aware of.

i also attached picture of my mongrel (jackie) for you to compare.

@Arcbay please advance your knowledge, not all gsd are black and tan or slant back.

No Hard feelings bro...It's always difficult accepting the truth especially when we are the victim...Mark this date, I will re-call this thread exactly 2months from now, asking for the recent pics of those pups of yours, I just hope you can be a perfect gentleman and post pictures by then, just so others can learn from the situation.

I'm not saying I know it all, as a matter of fact no one is an island, but I must point this out...I've spent all my life around dogs, that I can tell what a pup will grow up to become, by just studying the features from birth. I'm sure most breeders and pet owners in here share this view too...
It's only a matter of time, I hope you don't end up feeling bad about the pups you bought...Pups are perfect companions, just give them the love and attention they deserve and watch them grow, but one thing you should note is that they ain't good for breeding...

Bros, can you please post recent pictures of ur pups, we agreed 2 months... I'll be happy if u prove me wrong.

No Cooper is not my first dog. You really have to see Cooper to love him..., i had two dogs before a Boerboel and Rottweiler, they were massive and voracious but gave them up when i was leaving the country. It`s almost 4yrs i came back but refused to get another one because i don`t really have time. I am much more relaxed now and brought Cooper into my life, he deserves all the attention and care and besides i want him to be a great companion and not just a compound dog, so the great socialization.

There's a whole lot of difference between love, affection, attraction, likeness and lust.... Most people can't tell one from the other and that's the major cause of most break-ups...

Funniest part is that the VET might not even need to administer anything sef...

3 days is not too much for delayed delivery, as long as the dog still acts normal, OP could have waited a lil' bit more sha...This is just like in humans where delivery is either a week before of a week after....

Anyways, he did the right thing though, considering the fact that the VET will make sure the bitch delivers in good health...at least VET sef go chop na!!!

I wish her a safe delivery... God help her

I actually have great passion and love for the large breeds of dogs....started of with gsd's ...but now I do boerboels ,Rottweilers and Caucasians ...
Aim :to breed dogs locally here in Lagos Nigeria to the point that I could get close to perfection and be able to match my dogs up with the world standard
And that people from other countries could come in to view or purchase them here in Lagos ..sorry for all the long talks...but the 3 breeds I mentioned have been bastardized and demoralized in physique and stature...(used to be part of them tho lol) so now I am starting to make amends and little by little we would get there...thanks

It's no news...it happens, u need to sit her down and make sure she breastfeeds her pups as at when due... Also depending on their birth date, u should support with light cereals n milk, to ease the rate at which they suck-dry their dam...

So obvious irene and mckandre knows close to nothing about dogs.... that's a GSD for crying out loud!!! How else do u want the pup to look? Ever seen a short fat gsd before? To me, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the pup asides him being on leash which I strongly negate. Please let's all endeavor to probe into matters before rushing all down to post comments...

I believe the "open space" as implied by vikkiboi means a picture outside the house, probably in the compound or something....

This sure has GSD traits, but definitely not pure bred...Could be traced to a mongrel dam though

Basically I breed boerboel, tho I have a great passion for straighbacks(gsd).

I reserve one female from each of my litter, they litter twice in 3years, and retire.then the daughter will pick the baton.

To me, it's breeding till I find excellence. And when I find it, maintaining it is the goal.
