Gerrard59:Pm me. Saying it here would mean anyone can google & see story, names, location, school, health institutions involved, etc. We all still wanna have a certain amount of privacy/anonymity. ![]() |
BabaPissmaker:Well, I have actually met some thalidomide "babies", now middle-aged. You forgot where I wrote "Professor Adewole can define clinical trial in x or y number of patients, and cure maintained for p or q number of years, without serious side effects/future health hazards to make it recognised as a cure, depending on current/existing drug development and clinical trial regulations in Nigeria." There should be processes leading to registration. Yes many drugs in in use now would not have passed clinical trials if done today. Do you know we have not marketed (Bench to bedside) any proper new antibiotics for decades now? Nobody is saying flood the market with improperly researched/trialled drugs. |
Gerrard59:You might be surprised. A late professor of mine was overlooked for the prize. Even though he discovered something important (and published it) a year before an American who discovered same was given the prize. The first discoverer denied was not black though. it was widely published in UK press. But I knew the inside story. On the positive side, a couple of my former profs did get that prize. So no sour grapes here. But you see, it is not new for blacks to be denied recognition at the right time. The role of Hamilton Naki (a black South African) in the first Heart Transplant in 1967 was hardly recognised except after apartheid by the black SA Govt. But it is more coded these days. I see it happen to people often and I should know. |
MICHEALADEX:You are right. I am quite familiar with the procedure. Even certain research done require permit from Ministry of Interior in organised countries I'm familiar with. Do you think the University would not have consulted the school's ethics committee for guidance? Or will seasoned researchers not be familiar with established clinical trial rules? Those careless govt quangos can easily ignore applications or even lose them and nothing will happen. It seems anything goes in Nigeria. |
BigotMan:Immunology behind the job seems quite concrete. Viral load went to zero & remained so for months now at least. CD4 level also returned to normal. Plus curiously complete elimination of VL happened earlier in men than in women during treatment. Is it that women have more areas biologically that are more difficult for the drug to reach? Like more immuno-privileged organs than men have? Because of more complex reproductive organs? The only slight valid argument is that the drug has not been trialled on enough patients. Professor Adewole can define clinical trial in x or y number of patients, and cure maintained for p or q number of years, without serious side effects/future health hazards to make it recognised as a cure, depending on current/existing drug development and clinical trial regulations in Nigeria. HIV/AIDS is too serious to use bureaucracy to frustrate its possible cure. |
BigotMan:See link below, I think it is PDF: http://www.journalrepository.org/media/journals/BJMMR_12/2016/Nov/Ezeibe18112016BJMMR29018_1.pdf |
BigotMan:I do not have it. But the Journal and date of publication was mentioned a couple of months back in his interview. You might need subscription to access the full journal online anyway. Search online. |
BigotMan:He has published it. In International journals even and presented the cure in an international conference in the US. What else should he do? The West will not like it. Nobel Prize for Medicine or Physiology should not go to black Africa. The Indians & Chinese will soon nick the formula. And sell back the drug to us at exorbitant rate. Since 9ja doesn't value his discovery, he should sell it to the Chinese and make good money. Before others steal it. Now it is every man for his own pocket. |
dominique:Before nko? Given half a chance, 95% of Nigerians will beat Ibori, Yakubu, Tinubu & others in corruption game. We have a massive problem that even 20 Buharis combined cannot fix. When they accuse GEJ of corruption I was just laughing. As if he made IBB, Abacha to loot tens of billions when money still had far more value. |
If it is not your money, do not take it. However tempting. You might use this one million to throw away 100 million that God is perfecting for you. Temptations always have reasons. Not just simply the devil's machination only. It tests your faith & resolve. |
vicadex07:Sorry. I am not going into prick display with you. Go on with your boasting as you do with both history and everything else. If doing so fills the obvious gaping vacuum in your daily life, suit yourself o. Go ahead. I am strictly here to correct history that you guys want to use ogboju, agbero style and numerical advantage to force on people. Period. PS: I meant we owe you no explanation at the beginning of my previous post. |
vicadex07:We owe you no explanation. If not for your SW people who meddle into Benin historical narrative, we have no business with you guys. We all know being very loud and excessively boastful is a normal stuff in SW. Go ahead and show your prick claiming that it is bigger than other people's own that you have not seen.. I remember one argument with a young SE guy 20 years ago. He claimed Benin people didn't go to school. Then I asked him who was the official personal doctor to President Nnamdi Azikiwe (an Igbo man) who accompanied him to the Caribbean during January 1966 coup. He did not know. I also asked him who was the longest serving physician to Nigerian heads of State. He did not know either. These people were two Benin doctors. Both of whom I happen t know and one was even my UK alma matter. Mind you, this argument centred simply on education. Not to brag. Ignorant people abound everywhere. |
Tiri Gbosa OP. Wey those Evra & Beyonce pics? ![]() |
RIP. |
Nothing new. We all know NYSC is time for sexual escapades. Married corpers fvcking about and all kinds of fvckry. Other times corpers get killed on the bad roads travelling to some Jah-forsaken places or get bombed by Boko. The vestige of military gra-gra called NYSC has long outlived its relevance. Should be scrapped. |
vicadex07:I will not insult your mum. I was brought up well by my mum, in the cradle of culture not to insult other people's mum. This really exposes the hypocrisy of a culture that claims respect, that you so much claim supremacy for. If harlot, fine. At least not dirty local league, or opening legs for dirty agbero upanddan. ![]() |
vicadex07:Hahahaha! To begin with, Naira is useless money. Not different from Nigeria. You think all those so-called heroes past who tried getting independence (all African countries got it anyway regardless) who had no foresight to know that Hausa/Fulani & the South cannot mix peacefully can have their heads on Naira, who cares? If Enahoro was from WAzobia, his head would be on the Naira. Not that I think it is something relevant though. For now Hausa/Fulani, Igbo and Yoruba are busy playing Tom & Jerry with Nigeria. And nobody gains. After 1897 when Benin lost the war with Britain, we knew there would be nothing good to expect from the resulting entity. That they would empower those who were their sycophants against us. And so it has been. Instead of Edo people hanging around expecting anything from the dysfunctional entity called Nigeria, they go abroad. To try making a living on merit. Even Edo prostitutes value their wares enough to go abroad and earn hard currency with it. Not ideal but still. They do not offer their punany for a plate of Amala & Ewedu. ![]() Since prostitution is what you will mention next, let me help you out first. As for Beyonce, she has every reason to feel Yoruba because you lot sold yourselves into slavery. Except the very few who were raided by slave robbers, Edo people were not sold into slavery even in the 1470s. We had better sense of self-worth than others who sold themselves into slavery. Trade in Edo people or by Edo people was forbidden by Royal Decree. In fact it is on European records how Royal officials freed suspected Edo indigenes (even just good speakers of the language) from holding cells along the coast. Annoyed the Europeans & caused friction but carried on. We needed our people & even paid mercenaries to expand the empire from 1440 AD, so why would we sell our people? Edo has basically no Slave/Brazilian diaspora. So why would a slave descendant feel Benin? It is nothing to be proud of. SW Obas going to Brazil is very funny to me. To see descendants of those they sold into slavery. Very funny. ![]() |
Mental health is a big challenge in Nigeria. Murders, divorces, aggressive behaviours, vilence and more are due to undiagnosed/untreated mental health issue. Victim of post-partum depression. Which aspect of health care is well taken care of in Nigeria sef? |
olasaad:Well, no one can tell how it all began before graduating to this level. Nobody can definitely say they have not been having sex for years before now. ![]() People arrive at a destination through different means like Danfo, Uber, own car, Taxi, Keke Marwa, Leggedes Benz, etc. ![]() |
I see. So it wasn't low oil price that is the issue. So GEJ's & Yar'Adua's diplomatic, leadership & negotiation skills enabled oil to keep flowing to fuel the economic growth until May 2015. And Buhari came with slave master Funta Djallon mind to deal with ND militants and collapsed the economy. The truth is coming out gradually. Continue. |
do4luv14:They quickly forget who started it in a bid to paint GEJ as the only corrupt person that ever existed in Nigeria. GEJ did not believe in medicine after death or attracting criticism from all the major tribes should he dock influential ethnic majority people that largely control the corruption business. Like subsidy scammers. Instead he wanted checking corruption at source via TSA and removal of oil subsidy, etc. He also didn't want to implement policies rashly in order not to cause economic problems. But those who believe the own Nigeria used lies, propaganda, protests and Boko Haram to frustrate him. Now he's relaxing & smiling. While liars keep telling lies as if it is still campaign period. ![]() Look at them now. £1 = over N610. |
TinaAnita:Thank you. Over 35% of firstborn kids do not belong to their supposed biological dad. Results from DNA labs. I have said it for years here now but feminists wanna be never accept. Women are keeping all these secrets. Sometimes all the kids belong to different men outside while the woman is married. I know, the regular excuses women give: The man at home cannot satisfy her so she went outside. His JT is too small, so she went outside. But when a woman lies in bed like a log of wood and does satisfy a man or she has a punany the size of Lagos Lagoon and the man has no fun doing it, it is still also the man's fault. The double standard is doing more harm than good for relationships & society. |
EdoNation:EdoNation keep doing your thing. Do not mind that bigoted 0oni guy. I do not take him seriously anymore or give him the attention he so seeks. Keep posting enlightening material here. There are many sensible, objective and discerning people quietly reading. Their problem is that because Benin is today a " minority" tribe, they find it hard to grasp the illustrious history as documented in national museums in London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam and other places that I like to go and see from time to time. One SW guy even once said oyinbo historical records and sketches of Benin of visiting oyinbo those centuries ago were made up. ![]() That is the extent of their desperation. |
opal4real:Thank you. |
Lol |
See me see wahala o. Is he on national assignment there? Who send am go there? Nor be stupidity carry am go there? Why can't all the budget for Aso Rock clinic not suufice for his medical check up? The thing just dey vex me. |
Cool. |
Aguveso:Really bad. Thank God. God protect us. |
Just negodu. Nobody under 60 there. After discounting for football age, nobody under 70 among them. And we expect the same recycled old crooks to bring anything good, whatever party they belong. |
akintom:But we cannot allow people to just wallow in so much ignorance. It's having devastating consequences on families as they lose breadwinners & guardians. Education & apprenticeship are interrupted for many kids, perpetuating & recycling poverty. NMA and FG & States MoH need to step in to enlighten people. At least to save some. Making appropriate use of allopathic medicine and asking God or gods for healing should not be mutually exclusive. They should be complimentary. Even Jesus said it is not those who are healthy that need a physician but those who are sick. Mark 2:17. Apostle Paul advised Timothy "Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities". 1 Timothy 5:23. Even those with power to heal still acknowledged doctors and healing substance, since wine/alcohol kills microbes unlike unclean well/stream water that might have been typically available then. |
Abeg is this another Ghollywood film? ![]() |
