SIRmanjar:Oh boy, it is because of pervertitis. To imagine say our Queen Lizzy go dey turn you on too. Ewwwww. ![]() |
OlaoChi:Ok. No insults o. I endure a lot more from kids born 25 years ago here. Even your kinsman going as far my mum last week here. Though I told him I will not return the insult to his mum, my mum brought me up well. Sorry I cannot bulge on this. The list is online. I even gave you a clue with Northern ranking alongside SW in that same old newspaper article from SW by the way. Look for it. |
R3B3L:Very good. None of them behaved well. All na oversabi. Possibly none of them can make a good wife or hubby if they keep this dirty way of behaving. Just being fine or popular is not enough. Dirty behaviour will always cut through like mess after eating excess beans & eggs. |
OlaoChi:I do not slave for lazy bums. I cannot be providing you all with evidence after you appear pumping with ethnic pride and claiming to know all. I take deliberate steps to educate myself. Do same. Many readers who have seen that list will be laughing at you right now. ![]() Go find it & stop wasting people's time. If you were not too lazy, you only have to follow my old posts. But no, you talk before thinking or reading. |
Damian2016:This is not always easy to decide. Some people are more tactile than others. Others need to do more thoroughly to get the full picture others less. I think you should emphasize the importance of a chaperone during physical exams. I would have thought that your first 4 points should be known to every educated adult already. The 5th about prompt referral is more complex. Especially in a place like Nigeria where many families have money issues. Assuming a patient is admitted with a neurological problem and your facility has no MRI/CT scan for best imaging and you want to refer them to another with better expertise but more cost. They cannot go because of money & patient suddenly takes a turn for the worse, whose fault is it then? What I mean is that some situations may not be so clear-cut. Anyway, I'm not that familiar with Nigerian system. To remedy things (if indeed some colleagues are so unscrupulous as you claim), proper ethical training should begin on day one in med school. It is as important as clinical training. |
BornStunner1:Lol. I am not even talking of general literacy as it is today. I mean they earlier had higher education and got into govt positions, seizing the civil war to occupy positions Igbo formerly dominated. So when deciding what to teach in schools as history or curriculum, they have that edge. Now is Nigeria essentially WAZOBIA. If FESTAC was to hold today, tribalism would never allow Idia mask to be used as the face of it. Simple fact. Osogbo is too far sef. Within Lagos there a large number cannot even speak pidgin. I remember kids around fifteen who could not say "I'll be right back, I do not have change right now" and similar simple stuff in pidgin. One day I saw a group of Igbo guys, apparently new in Lagos. I was passing by on my street around 9 am that day. The shop boy kept saying "ma pada wa". The guys kept asking where are you going with our money na? I was shocked that I needed to tell those guys what he meant. So very common, seen it. |
O0ni:Chai! Your lies na wa o. Benin rating Ooni as Oghene? Which weed do you smoke? Kwale abi Ekiti weed? The Europeans rated the capital of Benin Empire as a "City" when no other Sub-saharan Kingdom town had that title. That was back in 1553. Even before that, Oba of Benin had been exchanging gifts of Bronze crucifixes & rosaries with the then powerful King of Portugal. The Europeans had observed Benin fighting in Eastern Yorubaland already centuries earlier (centuries before 1821). How can the British now be rating Alaafin or anybody higher only in 1821, many centuries later? Did this ranking even become possible until after 1897 defeat when Benin was still a sovereign empire? Nigeria needs to disband and let people go their separate ways. The lies peddled now are becoming infuriating. Europeans favoured stooges in Colonial divide & rule system and punished stubborn and determined ones. Simple. You still have not explained why Ooni of Ife was rated very low even by colonial masters since he had no history of any significant tussle with the Europeans. In Yoruba land age is hardly any reason for seniority in royalty. The father of current Ooni is still alive, an abomination in Benin culture. So depending on individual connections, wealth, politics & prowess, any of Ododuwa child could have been higher in hierarchy. Except of course he (Ododuwa) used his native Benin tradition of seniority to give his children positions. Don't tell me it used to be by age, that it only changed later. I know you guys to speak from both sides of your mouth. The rise of Oyo was simply based on slave trade. Benin had already outlawed slavery and finally banned sale of anything (even pepper) to Europeans when they insisted on Benin supplying slaves. Oyo made plenty of money from slavery. Hence the large Yoruba slave diaspora that Yoruba kings go to visit with pomp every time. A shameful thing in my opinion. Till today Benin has no slave diaspora. Something quite unique. Aside the very few raided & stolen while trading into foreign lands. Enforcing slave ban shaped the history of my own family. Because just like narcotics today, a few people tried to flout the law in cahoots with outsiders. When I first argued that Benin banned slave trade well before it became very lucrative from 1650s & 1700s, people here on NL were shouting lie, lie, lie. That was 6 years ago. Soon after a document showing origins of all slaves supplied from Sub-Sahara Africa was posted by someone. Lo & behold, Benin was not even recorded by Europeans as a slave origin place, for they meticulously recorded everything then. But European records abound on how no Benin slaves or Benin slave traders were typically among slave people/sellers even in the fringes of the Empire. Both sellers & slaves were listed as Igbo, Yoruba, Igalla, etc One was such record by A French slave trader, called Landolphe in February 1778. He visited Benin & met Chief Ezomo, leading field commander of Royal Army. A man with a standing army of 10,000 under him. Landolphe thought he had found easy cargo but Ezomo refused to sell a single person.. But none of those who initially shouted lies was civilised or man enough to apologise. Benin has only always highlighted kinship with their son Ekaladerhan (Izoduwa/Ododuwa) while all we have had with Oyo is business & mutual respect such as the Treaty of Otun (Northern Ekiti) between Aare Ona Kakanfo of Oyo & Iyase Ekpenede of Benin. Kankanfo planted date palm while facing Oyo & Iyase planted Ikhinmwin tree while facing Benin. That demarcated Benin & Oyo Empires. Try to read widely first, not just those ethno-centric pseudo intellectuals whose work you read. Read for example Alan Ryder's book: Benin & The Europeans-1485-1897. |
Derawiz:Actually he knew. Hardly anybody who didn't know Buhari was planning a coup. It was common gist then. Umaru Dikko even made Shagari send Buhari to far way Jos. Far away from the strategic Ibadan command. Solomon Lar (Plateau State gov then) even confronted Buhari with the rumors shortly after Shagari's state visit to Plateau. Buhari flatly denied and even asked to be sacked if not trusted. IT WAS ALL BOBOS. But they believed him. The Western Germany president sabi lie too. ![]() When the coup didn't happen on Oct. 1st 1983 as widely expected, everybody thought it was just rumors after all. We even began to question journalists in the family how they got the info wrong. But Alas we were just no patient enough. That was the main reason for trying to kidnap Dikko in the streets of London. Not even corruption. The street smart Dikko nearly ended his military career. Shagari's old fashioned gentleness from his Balewa cabinet time is now considered rather unwise. There are many twists to the story sha. Northern Rulers played their role too. Along with SW controlled media shouting corruption. IBB has confirmed that too. I know some kids born yesterday will come & start arguing blindly. |
RIP dear. |
So we now celebrate missed call from London as a national achievement. Na wa o. |
opal4real:Opal, I just decide to be looking at these people sometimes. They claim that virtually everything Benin comes from Yoruba land. These words are very archaic Benin words, many even taken away by migrants from Benin area like Isoko/Urhobo people around 500 to 800 years ago. What is happening is that SW people are using early educational advantage & numerical size to try to claim everything Benin has ever achieved. If they are not claiming Benin Bronze as coming from Ife, they are claiming Benin ancient religions as theirs. Even though some hate to admit it my SW people are intensely fascinated by Benin History. That is itself not a bad thing, after all such fascination is largely universal. You can witness it in museums in Paris, London, Berlin, Amsterdam, across the US and beyond. It is quite amusing if you ask me. The reason why we cannot just look at them is that at this rate, they may soon get quite audacious to begin to claim that renowned Benin artworks like 1977 FESTAC Idia mask, and the leopard were stolen from Yorubaland. They only need to plant it in SW controlled-media. We all saw what the likes of super-liars like Lai Mohammed did to Jonathan. They need to know that such lies cannot be tolerated. Thanks Opal: my name is simply AreaFada. Seun changed it to Areafada.....whatever after Nairaland was hacked into years back. |
OlaoChi:So you have not seen that list as shown here on NL MANY TIMES over the years yet you came forward to boldly claim nonsense as the truth or history? Wow! I do not give a rat's bum about Britain's ranking because an Imperialist country that came all the way to attack Benin Kingdom, Jaja of Opobo and others who defied them while rewarding those who meekly obeyed them cannot be trusted to rank anybody objectively. You even using their ranking (even wrongly as you did) is even more ludicrous. I will tell you another funny thing in British ranking. Money awarded as stipend did not necessarily correlate with the order of ranking. Where they could not smuggle a stooge higher up in the ranking, they rewarded him in monetary terms. ![]() Use your mb to search for it. |
At least spare parts will be cheap enough. Even Belgium engine will be fairly affordable. Should he have bought him Range Rover Sport? |
Our leaders. Marrying & giving in marriage. End times. |
OlaoChi:Wrong. Check your facts. Ooni of Ife was ranked very low under British Colonial rule. Way under Oba of Benin. Alaafin was ranked first. So why do many Yoruba people like to rank Ooni higher than Alaafin & Oba of Benin (even though Benin is not politically in SW since 1963) today? Mind you that in the North in colonial times, after Sultan of Sokoto, Shehu of Borno was ranked second, even ahead of Emir of Kano & Emir of Zazzau (Zaria). So Alake's utterance was far from legit historically, not even colonially. Though I couldn't give a rat's bum about colonial ranking. Go & read it. It's fairly recent history, under 100 years old. |
kings09:Nor mind our people jor. I nor blame dem. With Bubu in London for check up, how can anyone take news of AIDS cure from 9ja seriously? |
Micangelo19:Price per plot/acre/hectare? |
Micangelo19:Which state are the plots in? How much per per plot/acre? Is the C of O modern or old C of o? |
Evil everywhere, sad. |
A little puppy fat is no biggie at this age. The growth chart with time will give a better idea of baby's weight. |
ediama:Poverty is the root cause. Poverty pepertuates ignorance. |
I mentioned a few days ago here that some women just want a massive wedding, not caring if the man is yahoo yahoo or anything . |
frenchwine:My brother. Who didn't know before that everything said in Aso Rock is heard by all Western Powers and beyond? Let alone what Bubu is saying in their backyard now. That aside, most of our "big men" (political & business) report details to Western embassies regularly. That is the blackmail for hoarding their loot in the West. Wikileaks has already shown that. |
Na those with nothing better to do with their time I blame. Wetin konsaen me? |
Rip. At the same time an old man who promised change is in London for check up. Any zombie who quotes me to say nonsense, the thunder that will fire him/her is pomping relentlessly under guidance of sopana, ogun, esu and ayelala. I dey really vex now. |
sunshyne20:Abeg forget that thing. If the river likes let it come from Syria. The same power we cannot supply ourselves? Who will be foolish enough to rely on Nigeria for light? Forget what paper agreement might say, what is the reality? |
Origin:I wonder. They will all soon go bacterial. ![]() |
Oh that title is even too big sef. In 9ja, do not be surprised to see "Primary school Classmate Senator XYZ, Neighbour of Governor's Mummy, etc. Na 9ja we dey. Everybody wants to peddle influence; ![]() |
Godprotectigbo5:Auntie..you mean "what am I"....... Mentioning it because I see it written so often here on Nairaland. |
sunshyne20:Abeg we nor dey supply anybody electricity these days. They all have better production and distribution. Time to wake up. |
Everybody will leave office one day. Just like GEJ has left. |
