henrro: !! if u are saying anything concerning biochemistry, have it in mind that biichemistry is every wild course, there is environmental biochemist, medical biochemist, industrial biochemist, pharmaceutical biochemist .. so stop comprising biochemistry with anatomy and physiology. biochemistry is every okay comprise to other ones. Biochemists have lots of roles. Also biochemists tend to have higher entry requirements and many progress to MSc/MPhil/PhD/MBBS. |
I think I am not getting the gist or BMS graduates in Nigeria have a very different orientation/reality on ground. Even if Naija was a developed country with excellent hospitals and research facilities, it will still be impossible to mop up all the BMS graduates. I think the real issue is that there are not enough jobs. Here in the West focus is on transferrable skills: communication, numeracy, good time management, team work, ability to see a project through etc. These are things you gain from a course irrespective of the actual title. BMS students work in admin, civil service, labs, further studies, teaching, financial services, drug company reps/sales etc. I have a number of BMS graduate friends working in various ministries and banks. If there were jobs out there and fresh BMS grads were offered 160k monthly to begin, this thread would not exist. |
Andyblaze: forensics.Same thing na. Garricological forensics. |
lamekiss: Top 20 universitiesI graduated from one of these universities and worked briefly in another one above. I also did some work using the lab/facilities of another one here. They are truly excellent institutions. After year 1, BSc students (Sciences) have to rely on newly published work/journals for their education and not some knowledge published in some 3 or 5 year old books. Healthcare courses have world class Teaching hospitals with specific areas of leadership worldwide like: Neurosurgery, Chest Medicine, Hepatology/Liver transplant, Kidney Transplant/Nephrology, Robotic Surgery, Psychiatry, Assisted Reproduction, Nuclear Medicine, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Plastics, Dermatology, Emergency Medicine etc. Lecturers are those churning out new discoveries and shaping knowledge internationally. You really have to be there to appreciate it. Nigerian unis of the 70s until mid-80s were not far behind these universities but these foreign ones have made a huge leap forward since but ours have largely stagnated. What encourages me is that Nigerians can excel in the right environment. Insha Allah that will happen soon. We have the brains, the money but no correct visionary leadership in Nigerian education policy right now. |
valacious: Bros, but you and the poster you quoted are saying the same thing, towing the same line of arguement-end result being the muslim peagent might end up revealing more down the years. You need to buy patience pills at shoprite.. Lol. You're advertising for shopwrong. What happened to Iya Bola or Nne Chuks shop? ![]() |
I think she's a fine modest lady. You don't have to be yellow pawpaw to be pretty. I didn't know though that beauty competition of any kind was allowed in Islam. |
chukxie: Nice one! I find the boldened quite confusing. Potential (adj) means: (1) existing in possibility. (2) expected to become or be. Synonyms of potential are: possible , likely, prospective....... Chukxie why are you doing oversabi na? That bolded part cracked me up when the poster first posted it. ![]() The guy used "potential" in a local lingo way to mean: able, caring, can-do, no nonsense dad. I have heard it before. Don't forget that Madiba Mandela said there are "many Englishes". It's about time we developed ours to incorporate our culture. Australians, Canadians and Americans now have their own distinctive English but we here are still playing "defenders" of colonial master English. If I was in Lagos and said "I'm losing my religion", I guess our over-religious people would say "God Forbid". In southern USA it simply means "I'm losing my manners". You need to hear the rubbish English young people speak in the streets of England if you haven't yet. |
Tolexander: Instead of him to put together the money to finance the case and get a transfer for her daughter to a private school.. Not everybody is self-centred thinking only about himself and his family. Some still put the collective above all else. |
A very violent society where everyone pretends to religious. |
Hi Carbon, Any problem free plots in a moderately developed part of Ikorodu with light for 600k or below? Please within Lagos State. |
Don't know about Naija but in Europe there are standard prices for various precudures: consultation, investigation/tests and treatment/surgery and drugs. And rehab depending. Nutrition too. Even some government hospitals have private wings/wards for paying patients. These private wards look a bit better than other wards. Don't forget that the bill attracts VAT, anything from 16 to 22% of the bill depending on country. Increasingly these private patients including Nigerian elites are becoming very import in earning cash-strapped hospital some good money. |
Andyblaze: hi guys. I am a doctor. I have ph.dDoctor of Ijebu Garri! |
toysleek: Izi Akhigbe graduated from unilag with 4.98 CGPA.. Gbam. |
Lilimax: This first class thing is gradually becoming like pure water. Not easy. They worked hard for it. God bless them. |
dayokanu: The end is near for Retardeen. The end is rather nearer for oil parasites and Nigeria. Soon Niger Delta will have to shake off the fleas. 2015 will be a good time as predicted by some smart people already, not all this beer parlour talk. Born-to-rule ppeople's wet dream is to frustrate GEJ but the are heading for a surprise. |
Ol' boy where is the picture? Email: area.fada@yahoo.com |
Until recently I did not support GEJ. But now I have seen that his critics are largely tribal propagandist. They hide behind the toga of critic. With Northerners refusing to condemn boko murderous activities , using Amaechi as a pawn against GEJ, that customs thief Atiku leading Northern governors with a few SW "Afonjas" out of PDP, and considering where GEJ's blind critics come from, it became obvious that they are only carrying out their threat to make the country ungovernable. Well let everybody be soaked in blood as they promised. Revolution and division has to start from somewhere. If we can't accept each other, let's split. I wonder why so many parasites are scared of having their own country. Oh sorry, I forgot oil money. ![]() |
Sagamite: No wonder you are dumb. And your lack of education is meaningful . How can someone who spent 8 years doing a 4-year course like you know the meaning of education? hahahahahaha!!!Typical naija man. Argues what he doesn't know. I don't think anyone dumber than you has ever walked the earth. GEJ will rule. When he goes SE will take over. Then no more Nigeria. I hope industrialised SW cannot complain, you guys have siphoned enough oil money. |
Sagamite: Mental patients trained you?. Actually your best teachers are the people you look after whether mental, surgical or whatever patients. Your profs can only teach you that much. The people on ground are your real teachers. Everyday. |
Sagamite: You are a person!Lol. You assume I am from GEJ's place. No you are wrong. I can never elect GEJ as my ward councillor. In a serious country. But Naija is not serious. So they select themselves to loot. Irrespective of tribe or region. Sorry your swearing makes no difference. I look after all kind of people, drunkards, pregnant ladies, old, young......so I have heard it all. My line of work trained me well. Why are you scared to accept my offer? Just come and see for yourself. I have nothing to hide. Good luck anyhow. |
Sagamite: You are a person!Whatever, I am in the middle of work, doing what matters to people........I've got to go. Good luck to you. Someone who swears like a trooper must truly be very sad. Thank God you can vent your spleen online. Good therapy. You have carefully avoided my proposal. Are you scared? |
Sagamite: You are a person!Sorry I vote where my vote means something. Never voted in Naija. What is it about then? You think if not for oil, Nigeria would still exist? Actually I am only chatting with you to assess your mental state. I remember doing this on people back in the day as a student. I have a good idea what you suffer from. But it would be unprofessional for me to openly state it here. |
Since they say you live in Peckham? I am happy to invite you to my place of work. Let's chose a respected/neutral NLer like r123 to be present. The neutral person will report here. £2000 bet. Do you agree? If I cannot prove my education at top world uni, you win. Easy. Sagamite: In your dreams, person! |
So you're one of those parasites who believe we must all continue together by force, along boko haram and co? Hypocrisy will not get anywhere. About time people accepted what the reality is. Awolowo: Nigeria is a mere geographical expression. ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Harvard-like scholar! ![]() Cretinous product of a failed education system. ![]() Is there any geographical expression that is a successful country today? Una all see? When I call people person, I am ALWAYS right![/quote] |
Sagamite: Yeah, they are having a ball destroying your life.. They are not destroying more than all the other born-to-rule people before them. So what's the difference? Since tribalism will not let people get together, let it be destroyed turn by turn until each people go their separate ways. |
Sagamite: You are a person!. No I didn't. Not Harvard but in the same bracket. Might be a big deal for you. In my day that was a normal thing to aspire to and achieve. |
Sagamite: You are a person!. While you're there hating the Jonathans are having a ball. What's my business where they got their education from? I am not obsessed with anyone. You're obsessed and hate-filled. My colleague is an OCD expert, I can send you to him for treatment. |
theoctopus: dont take him too serious oh! The guy is a very angry guy because he has gone through several winters now where he had to use kerosene stove. He cant come back to naija because he cant afford the ticket. He has been planning to stowaway since he heard that Benin boy story!. LOl All he knows is f-tard, f-tard as if that will make him look tough. I have broken some jaws of those who spewed poo. |
theoctopus: The small english wey dem teach you for that your welfare school na im you dey come practice here!. Don't mind him. You can see how badly brought up he is, swearing at his family and entire generations. |
