appelmoieddy: On the other hand Maybe she faced repatriation and hoped u'll understand. Without telling me first? Do you know what it means to accept a child as yours in Europe? Child support for good 18 years!! Sure enough she was later repatriated, most likely because the found out she told a web of lies all along. At that point, no reason to tell lies or try to implicate me. People here have one night-stands and get pregnant, never seeing the baby father again. In fact it's better for her to say she didn't know the father. |
Arosa: @Op, it's human. Not just Nigerian or women.. Spot on. Humans are generally ungrateful. You see it among Naija women because you deal with them in your Naija environment or social circle. Agreed Naija case is particularly bad. Number 1 is lucky that the lady is not working in his company. Don't be surprised if she would somehow engineer his sack from that company. I helped a Naija woman who was like 7 months pregnant when she arrived in Europe. You know some women 7 months pregnant can have small tummy like 5 months pregnancy. When she delivered I was helping her with the authorities, birth registration, translating for her, being a non-English speaking country. She later told the authorities that I was responsible for the pregnancy. Just because they put her under pressure to declare who the dad was to ensure he pays child support. Nna, na so I see oyinbo officials land for my house to interview me. A woman I just pitied, never knew her before, not my girlfriend. No be small thing o. |
There are Nigerian lecturers in many African countries especially all those Swaziland, Lesotho, Botswana and co. Many years back Ethiopia also requested for over 50 profs from naija govt. A prophet has no honour in his own country. |
What I learnt from a Ghanaian is that most of the lecturers have MSc or professional qualification. She doesn't seem to think much of research or degrees got through research like MPhil or PhD. That only means they have poorer quality faculty/lecturers. Despite their stable academic calendar, less qualified staff means lower quality education. You cannot give what you don't have. |
Ceenelly: please house help what is the diff btw Right Of Ownership and Certificate Of Ownership. I think the lawyers in the house will be in a better position to explain. All this matter is due to Land Use Act decree 6 of 1978 rushed through by Obasanjo as Military HoS. My understanding is this: Right of Occupancy (R of O): give you rights to take possession and use a piece of land BUT does not necessarily extinguish other existing rights of possession and use of the land. Certificate of Occupancy (C of O): is actually also a right of occupancy but it extinguishes existing rights of possession and use of the land. It is personally signed by the governor. For example the hope is that Fashola will sign the huge backlog of C of O applications just before leaving office. C of O is equivalent to Governor's Consent. Because C of O for a particular plot of land is only ever issued once, if you buy a land that already has a C of O, you will have to apply for Governor's consent. So both or allocation letter for Govt estate plot are your final " de main, de main koko, holy grail of land documents. God forbid 20 years from now govt decide that your mansion should make way for Asaba new 75 story skyscraper, only a C of O plus building permission will really ensure you're properly compensated. Although you may not really need the money after serving as Petroleum Minister. ![]() NOTE that the Land Use Act doesn't really foresee "right of ownership". Instead it's occupation for X number of years, renewable usually 50 t0 100 years. YES YOU CAN GET C of O PROVIDED THE LAND IS GENUINE AND ALL DOCUMENTS ARE GENUINE. @CENELLY, are there other plots for sale in the area? Please send details including size and price to: area.fada@yahoo.com |

Bad guys attract good girls: they hope to tame the wild guys. When good girls see a good guy, they tend to form, then go with the bad ones. Later on the same good girls who open their eyes and follow bad guys will start blaming all men for their predicament. How about checking yourself to see why you follow bad guys?? On the whole nature is not silly. Maybe nature sends those good girls to save the bad guys. |
Ceenelly: have met the seller and his wife, from what i observe from the document shown to me (right of occupancy) and the land, is a propose GRA by the state govt and it as being survey by the ministry of land and survey, what i want to know is this is it possible for govt to give out such land to individual if yes do they have the right to withdraw it at anygiven time,. Well in theory it is possible. Note that R of O is not same as C of O. They can withdraw R of O theoretically if there should arise overwhelming public interest in the land. E.g to build a stadium, hospital, University, barracks, airbase etc. So you will still need your C of O. At least with C of O, in such instance you will be compensated. If you have any slight interest in the land, engage a good lawyer. With land matters don't be pressured into buying quick. Follow procedure. |
Adeshina365: I will do just that....but it feels weird talking to a medic about my rod. Nothing weird talking about any part of the body to a doc. He/she has seen and heard it all. For all you know, the fine girl who just left before you could have presented with gonorrhoea, haemorrhoids and such. It's just a part of the body like any other (of course very precious to you). You can't say you're impotent except it affects sex.ual function. Even then most dysfunction have no organic cause (except you have high BP, diabetes, advanced age etc) but psychological reasons. Depression, anxiety, stress etc. |
Guys, please don't crucify the babe. She's only talking about what millions of babes do up and down the country. Even some married women with pregnancy sneak into hotels with a co-tenant/neighbour to have sex for money when the husband is away. We only hear when they get caught. What we have now are official ashi and closet ashi. Only very few women now love for the sake of love. Why do you think rich old men ride the most beautiful girls? The men among us should know better. At least she's not shagging around shopping for house rent. @OP, I hope you know that by becoming economically dependent on a guy you're not married or engaged to, you're unknowingly giving him the same right a husband has over his spouse, why you cannot have rights over him? He who pays the piper. |
You need a lawyer with experience in property search at your state Lands Bureau. To begin you need the land documents from the seller. Tell him to give you photocopies of (i) registered survey plan (ii) C of O or Governor's consent (iii) Government allocation paper(iv) Gazette (v) deed of transfer AND any other documents available. As a minimum you need papers indicatiing exact co-ordinate of the plot. This is to ensure it is not within govt acquisition or committed land. Note that Govt allocation paper is normally for plots in govt estates (and no C of O or Governor's consent is available for such plots). Allocation paper, C of O, Governor's consent carry the same weight as definitive owner's title (assumimg they are genuine). If they show you excision documents that govt gave the land to the Ovie, Obi or paramount ruler of the locality and his people, the exact plot you are buying may be in the same named area BUT might just be outside the excision zone (bad market). Be careful and good luck. |
clapham: Please, get it right, all am saying is, if you have and you can spare little give because Sainburys advert says 'every little help' that is if you have,if not let them know.. It's not that simple. It depends on many factors: (i) Your background. (ii) How kind-hearted and trusting you are. (iii) Personal circumstance in diaspora. Etc. It doesn't matter how much you explain the situation, if you have 4 unemployed graduates or 5 siblings at university and no dad, they are not going to listen to your moaning from diaspora. A colleague got a phone call from junior sister in Naija: Phone rings Sister: Ah, Bwoda wind has blown the roof off the first flat o! Colleague: When? Sister: Just last night o. Infact the parlour if full of water from the rain o. Colleague: have you removed things to the other flat? Sister: Yes, but we need to get carpenter to do the roof quick or else the damage will be much because in this July rain is falling the whole day. Colleague: How much will fix it? Sister: hmmmm, we can manage xyz Naira. In fact I asked a carpenter to come have a look and he quoted pqr Naira but i can price it down to xyz naira. Colleague: Ok I will WU the money today. In fact the roof was totally intact and could lat another 10 years or more. The sister pocketed the money. Days later, my colleague called the niece who lives in the first flat (alleged to be flooded) to ask how she was coping. The niece was taken aback. She was comfortably watching TV in that same parlour. It was just fraud. About a year later, she got a relative to call same brother that she has had a serious accident and doctors have asked for lots of money to save her life. Meanwhile she was enjoying owambe up and down in town. @bigdiva, if you can afford to come do MSc in UK, it's unlikely you're from same Ketu "face-me-I-punch-you" background like Ayo. Over 70% of Naija families cannot afford it. It is people like Ayo who pay school fees, medical bills, funeral, marriage, feeding and allow many relatives to move into brand new houses instead of being tennants. |
Na rogue thingz. All of them are the same. No difference. At the end Ghana must go will change hands, some will get soft landing. The sheeple will continue suffering. Till revolution comes. A bloody one at that. |
ddeola: Misplaced priority, are the bullet proof vehicles more important than other issues that need urgent attention?. Na lie o. The circus is meant to increase the number of Ghana must go they can extract from the executive. Which other priority do they have apart from their pockets? What happened to Etteh, Balogun and Hatdollar Fahcrook? Nothing! |
chomaloo: Y e b say we 4 9ja too dey biazd.1 of d gr8tst sin na 4 1 to lie to m ppo n also lie to emsef.let's stop ds tribalism tin n call a spade,a spade no mata where d pson com frm.ds issue of we leaders lottin our national moni 4 luxury whil d masses who put them r suffery is wrong.4 9ja to change we must speak out no mata d tribe.hausa man de vess say igbo lot moni.but I want ask oo,dat no reach d evil hausas don do 4 we country 9ja.mak em no vess lik say na tribal issue but tackle it as a national problem dat also involves yoruba, igbo n hausa. That's what they do in a country where people are ready to move forward. Nigeria is not ready yet. Our "40 years" in wilderness is not complete yet. |
bloggernaija: Gangs just do not attack for nothing. What a very silly comment. Self-loathing on display. The girl that was raped to death by an Indian gang, what did she do to offend them previously? Many years ago, a Nigerian guy (my good friend) was sleeping at night peacefully when his house was set ablaze by a Neo-Nazi gang. Right here in Western Europe. Luckily he escaped unhurt as it was on ground floor. Even though he's now late, if he had died in that arson attack, his lineage would have been wiped out. His younger brother (and only sibling) died childless in Naija months earlier and he was not told (not to distress him too much). He was then childless BUT had 4 kids before he died from a different cause. Now if he had died then and was in the news, people like you would have been casting aspersions on such a gentle dude. A Nigerian has been brutally murdered abroad and all you can do is to paint him as a criminal. Shame on you. |

4.Only a minority (10-15 %) of Muslims practice polygyny because of additional financial and psychological burdens of handling more than one family.
If only 10-15% of Muslims practice polygyny, why have they been telling us the population of Northern Nigeria is more than South because Northerners marry generally marry up to four wives. Where did you get your figures from? If true then the census fraud is bigger than we thought. Each man his own. Personally polygamy is too troublesome. I want my peace of mind. |
saintvc: Leadership by example. God bless you. People are very hard to please. I don't know Dickson from Adam but he could have avoided demolition of his house but he didn't. |
Ok. Any discount? What other expenses go with buying it? area.fada@yahoo.com |
drkay: Hmmm doc, remember her health deteriorated till death. PE will most likely result in sudden death, although she may give a brief history of pain in her leg.. It can be any of the above. But has anyone considered the possibility of pregnancy since she married about a year ago? That would have even increased her risk of DVT/PE. PE is still a killer of pregnant women here in the West. Has anyone categorically excluded sickle cell disease perhaps complicated by pregnancy? Such a "pain" in the leg is not unusual in sickle cell crisis even in kids as young as 5 in the paediatric wards. So why not in a 32-year old. They should also check the family members for similar deaths previously and consider hereditary coagulopathy/Osler-Weber-Rendu syndrome genetic test. RIP fine lady. |
Thanks for the info. I just suddenly developed interest after an in-law got a job from Germany. He is a german anyway. It seem there is a high demand for skilled workers. I read somewhere that they don't have mineral resources and I am in field of oil and gas, currently doing my NYSC. Is there any opportunity to do a Master there or work there?
. Sure you can do both. But bear in mind that to do a professional job, you need the language (s) and residence permit. They are not very generous with it. Although it now has relaxed immigration rules with EU, it's not an EU country and going there to reside on the back of your EU citizen relative (in-law) to work might be tricky. I am assuming that you're not an EU citizen yourself (I might be wrong of course). However, University of Fribourg has several Masters degrees run in English. Earth Science MSc might be closest to your area (oil & gas). The Business Master's in English would also go nicely with your oil background. Like I said, it's an expensive country, and that's coming from somebody who lives in an expensive place like London. |
Dude is it for free? You cannot even quote price. |
@ 2s£xy Helvetia/ (named after ancient tribe living in modern Switzerland) is a great country. Rich, clean, low unemployment/economy is good, low crime rate, high income/wages and high living standard. Health care is excellent. ETH Zurich is always among top 25 world ranking of universities. Geneva and Basel are also excellent unis. IF you liked further maths like me, you might know Leonhard Euler the Swiss Mathematician/Physicist (in the class of Newton, Gauss, Cauchy, Lorentz, Descartes, Leibnitz, Fermat, etc) was a University of Basel alumnus. Good to raise kids in. They speak German (with heavy Swiss accent) in Zurich, Basel, Berne etc, French in Geneva etc, Italian in Lugano area. Romansh is a minority Language. In certain towns like Fribourg, you get the impression most can speak both French and German. Young people and many others can speak English but it is not official or working language. In particular knowledge of German and or French are essential, depending on where you live. Berne is capital city. But it's expensive and laws are quite strict. You will see people coming across the border to Lorrach, even Freiburg to do family shopping on Saturdays. For me it's a bit boring and too dull. If you want a quiet life, it's the place to be. I have never lived there but enjoyed visiting there a lot. |
gabbytabby: In Ajah I got borehole done for 60k but I am told it will cost 160k in Ipaja and Ikorodu. I just need to find out in Ipaja and Ikorodu if the experience of people are the same. I understand that the difference in the soil type means the price will be different but feel the difference is too much and need to find out if its the going rate.. interesting. |
naijaking1: Where was the boko haram wounded lion when one of them was stuffing dollar bills into his hat. When did National Assembly become prosecutor or judge to order arrest? They are just making noise to increase the number of Ghana must go to settle them. Being a lawmaker doesn't empower you to enforce the law. How many of their exposed corrupt colleagues (Hatcrook Lawal, Etteh, etc) have they arrested? They should start by arresting themselves for their monumental fraud/pay package and sundry embezzlement. Bunch of clowns. If they have evidence that can stand against her in court, what is EFCC and ICPC still doing? Are they not supposed to be detaining and questioning her? If no evidence they should let her be. |
