nduchucks: We are showing the clueless one how to run a very effective campaign.
The clueless one will not have the advantage of using 2 minute photo-ops and wicked one-liners to discredit Buhari. The people will hear directly from the General, they will have the opportunity to ask their own questions directly and not through any paid hacks.
SAI BABA SAI BUHARI
They banked on that advantage and potential TV optics, but the APC cornered them, outsmarted them and took the advantage away from them. They basically got outfoxed by the APC once again... #CHANGE#GMB2015 |

phreakabit: Not pro GEJ neither am I Anti Buhari. . . I am non partisan and pretty much think both candidates aren't what the country deserves. However, they are the best we were able to put forward, so . . .
Question however is : AM I SUPPOSE TO VOTE SOMEONE WHO HASN'T/DOESN'T WANT TO EXPLAIN HIS MANIFESTO TO ME?
I sense something is wrong here. . . Even Obama had a debate with McCain who was clearly not as eloquent or intellectually proficient as Obama. . . We all know GEJ isn't the best orator, heck! He is terrible, also the opposition spare no effort in calling GEJ all sorts of names including DUMB. . . So why is Buhari avoiding this Debate? My intuitions quickly lead me down 2 paths
1, He is clearly avoiding questions regarding his certificate. 2, Are the rumors of memory lapses true?
phreakabit: Sorry but I am Igbo, We have no business in this. This is simply a classic case of the Northerners ganging up with their loyal Southwestern subordinates to play chess with the outsider. Simply observing things unfold. We all have sides so why spew your biased and clicky garbage while hiding behind silly disclaimer about not on any side, this depicts as a very deceptive, dishonest and untrustworthy person. Speak your mind and openly pick your side of the fence, we won't kill you for doing that, but don't think you sound genuine by adding some deceptive and lying disclaimer to your partisan rubbish... |

vigasimple: 1. GEJ is the sitting President. He has verified PHD , even his 1st degree as a southern is better PHD holder in the North. Those guys reason like they are in the 17th century.
2. Bhuari is the challenger here, he is the one with his antecedents that need to proof that not only that he went to school but he also have certificate as required by the constitution. Arrogance is on display here.
3. We want to hear from all the candidates via debates why we should vote for them. An average Almajiris only understand sai Bhuari. I and other educated people don't. We understand issues and how they are going to fund their programs.
4. Debates are structured to deal with every areas of governance. Town is for dubious questions.
APCheats can prepare GMB but because he is a dounce he cannot articulate any vision, that is why they are running away from debates.
This 21st century, we don't need rulers but leaders, unfortunately Bhuari is a dictatorship and born to rule Fulani man, he cannot change. We are just bloody civilians, and he is super General. Na by force to debate ni? We both know you are not voting for the man and debate or no debate, you still won't vote for him so why are you hurting and crying$ |

Gondonu: Nigeria will be making a big mistake if MB is elected as president.Something is terribly wrong with this APC of a party.Debate is more important than other sideway strategies as most audience can be reach via the TV or radio within a short time which is effective in all respect. This is a technologically driven world where your ideas & implimentation can be well scrutinized.A government that is not answerable to the electorate has no business in governance. Coming from another gej apologist... With gej dodging the 2011 debates, he shouldn't have been allowed to govern right...or your upside down rules applies only to Buhari and not the corrupt and incompetent joker we have in office today... |

Missy89: So when did Nigeria become a develop country?
The margin of voters that can be swayed with public debates in Nigeria is still very low because they are not ideological voters. They consider power, ethnic and religious affiliations.
Most voters already know who they are voting for no matter what happens between the next 12 days and the margin of undecided voters are are too low to sway the result of the elections. If APC can get the stakeholders of each region to attend their town hall meetings and deliver a coherent plan, The fallout from not attending the debate will be mitigated and wont affect the final result of the elections. Well said.... |

The small matter of appearing to mess with his certificates. Then the humiliation of avoiding debate with Jonathan administration to prove to Nigeria that he still have his mojo. What were APC thinking when they chose buhari instead of kwakwanso or even Atiku? The delegates scammed atiku for $2000 each and kwakwanso for $1000 each. Yet they went for this charmless man. Nigeria is in trouble indeed. How can this buffoonish man contend with Obama, Cameron or even Merkel? Nigeria is the laughing stock across the civilised world. mrmetoo1: What do you mean it's false? He's he going ahead with the debate?
The funny thing about this debate issue is, I'm sure GEJ didn't even plan to attend but APC keeps blinking first. I'm disappointed though but for me it doesn't change anything. The debate, I doubt, will produce any converts. The only reason I wanted this debate to hold is because PDP minions will now have something else to distract us with till the 14th now that the certificate silliness is dying down.
The guy said there'll be town hall meetings though which I prefer to all these popularity contests (rallies) all over the country. Town halls if done properly are more honest and effective than debates and rallies. Debates sometimes are won not by the person with the most points but by the person that can produce the most sound bites I'm 100% sure he's participating in one debate or the other and regardless, debates is of zero importance to me, the truth is in the pudding or should I say their manifestos whic remains their promise to Nigerians. Wasting time regurgitating feel good and deceptive words means nothing. As a Nigerian, ist more than obvious that after 6 years in office, the curent president can not protect Nigerians, can not provide safety and security, can not fight corruption and in fact is promoting corruption with his acts and utterances, we've lost parts of the country under him and the economy is in shambles with youth unemployment out of control. I agree with you that the best format is unstage townhall debates and taking questions from the averagenNigerian.. |

kmariko: I thought that it would have been pertinent to know the methodology used in the original calculation. At least one would then evaluate whether it is still valid with situation as currently obtained in the country. Or is it so much cast in stone that it does not require changes. Most nations change their poverty index calculation to suit the times. Maybe you need to read the whole article again and closely follow the argument then re examine your understanding before your next post... |

Adegbodolu1: "What worries me is that this government is the first in our history to attempt to manipulate our national statistics under Okonjo-Iweala. When NBS published the poverty figures in 2011, she felt indicted and incensed. She called upon the World Bank to come and examine the ‘methodology’ and get NBS to ‘review’ its numbers. Oby Ezekwesili (as VP Africa Region rejected the call to try to tamper with a country’s statistics). Once Oby left, the ‘World Bank’ started talking about ‘new figures’, without conducting any new surveys. I was told about it by a World Bank economist, and I cautioned that it was a dangerous gamble that would damage the credibility of the NBS. If you want to ‘review methodology’, you conduct another survey but you can’t change ‘methodology’ because you don’t like the published figures. No government in our history has tried it: even Sani Abacha allowed a poverty survey that put poverty at 67% under his regime. At this rate, who will believe statistics coming from the Nigerian government again? Is it now the World Bank that sits in Washington and allocates poverty numbers to Nigeria? Something smells here!"
Biggest economy in Africa based on forged "Iweala" methodology. This is one of the many reasons why this administration can not in any way change or do anything meaningful for this country or move us forward. Instead of sitting down to correct their errors or mistakes, they blame and crucify well intentioned critics, they engage in fraudulent activities, deception and mess with figures. |

NgeneUkwenu: Politics Aside, Ngozi does not know much of about Economic Management, she dwell so much on economic growth while the main indices of which primarily an Economy is judged are left to suffer! Economic growth without commiserate development is a voodoo economy! This woman public acknowledge the fact that at least @10 billion is missing not because she figured this out as the finance minister and the public official in charge or our money and entire economy, but because SLS notified the world and firstly the president of Nigeria who instead of asking questions, demanding accountability and even sacking the folks in charge including Madam finance minister herself did the most absurd, corrupt and horrible thing by sacking the messenger just because he raised alarm and pointedly not getting the numbers right when in fact it makes no difference, the missing funds remain the issue regardless the exact amount. The only sane conclusion here is GEJ is part of the scheme hence not eager to get to the bottom of the issue, not firing or demanding accountability or even releasing the so called forensic report . What you people spew here on NL is definitely beyond politics and tribalism, it's pure corrupt, crooked mentality and lack of patriotic spirit. You care less about your own country, your own people and their welfare and economic survival including even yours, your kids and unborn kids... Very shameful and despicable I must say.. |
