YourHealthlabs: Logic. grin
Let me tell you how it goes.Consultant (cardiologists e.g)working for govt have private clinics/centers, now when a patients meets a Medical officer or resident or someone close to that Consultant. He tells you 'oh we don't have this machine go to this clinic (of of course Consultant cardiologist's clinic) pay N100,000 for all Scans. Same thing happens in other departments like Ortho, O&G et.c
Pathologists divert all Biopsy and Autopsy samples to their unacrredited private labs. This is how our physicians run hospital rackets.Method---->emblezzle hospital funds, starve the hospital of equipments and then divert the patient's money to your private pockets.

Do we still wonder why NMA would rather die than leave or share hospital administration.
They are all comrades in hospital and patient's-fund embezzlement.
EFCC should have branch offices in all our public hospitals. Yes it's that bad.

We all know these things, we are not blind. Can you swear on honour that i'm wrong?
Yourhealthlabs..... Conquer your hatred.

Eg in lagos, ct scans and mri arent commonplace. So if i tell a patient ti go to mecure or eko hospital, that means i own it.

There is lack of some equipment in govt hospitals and patients are sent to private places to get it done. Now does the HOD of a dept starve his dept of funds? No he can only request and it us up to management to provide. If his management plan includes an investigation which the hospital facility doesn't provide then by all means he can send the patient outside or is that illogical?

If you get a third class nothing you can do about it. Happy you have accepted it and moved on.

My advice is to get a PGD then follow up with an MSC. I know a lot of peeps who gave done it so don't dull yourself.

Secondly on the options you gave IMO they are too many it shows you aren't yet sure of what you want to do so I advice as above. That ensures you don't waste time making decisions.

All the best

What will I not read in nairaland. You all know what?

As I said previously on another thread there was a time when the vc in my school packed many students into medicine the first hurdle was basic sciences 100L that cut the class into two.

The moral of the story its not who starts the race but who gets to the finish line.

Aren't they fraudulent pharmacies and labs? Run at substandard level/ practicing criminal activities. The trend is general so don't point fingers

Jakumo: The situation is under control. There is no cause for panic. You may go about your normal business, unless you are a criminal, in which case we advise you to stop your normal business and get a real job.

The animal in question is not a lion a trained hyena that ran amok and ate some passers-by, but the large tooth carnivore is now reportedly sleeping off his hearty meal in an abandoned building next to the police station, causing the police officers on duty to scamper for dear life, abandoning their weapons in the panic to escape the attention of their visitor which by that time was in a relaxed mood, despite its fierce appearance.

We are awaiting further reports from our intrepid reporter on the scene, the tenacious Sagamite himself, of the "Fucktards" fame, who is at this moment en-route to the scene with his camera crew who will stream live footage to the net and world media as efforts are made to end the tense standoff in the wild-wild west township of Shagamu, western Nigeria.

nouveaux: the 'doctor's have bastardized the health care sector by training auxiliaries in their clinics. Aux nurses, aux. dispencer, aux lab tech and etc most of which are schl cert holders. They see no problem with dat but have problem with trained professionals advancing and progressing in their fields. Is that reasonable? Oh yea, it it!
Park well joor! Is it only drs, what of pharmacist's renting their certificates or lab scientists running clinics as proudly stated by an Mls on this forum. There is rot in the sector agreed but it is across board.

I still don't believe that an auxiliary nurse does surgery. As for all the other auxillaries you mentioned no hospital of repute has just auxiliaries working there. I have worked in the private sector and I know this.
Lab Mls, nurses + midwifery, pharmacist too.

drered: I'd rather blame PCN than blame you.. If things were the way it should be. Any strike effected by pharmacists would be comprehensive.. Lock down in hospital pharmacies likewise community and industry. Then we'd see how much impact would be felt.. Lol. Common hatred? This is just a comeback from repression that has gone on for so many years. The tides have changed..
Lil will the private pharmacies close down too? Patients already patronize pharmacies outside the hospital so if you try am.....

Nobody will notice.

YourHealthlabs: In another news, Medical Dr. Paul Orhii's NAFDAC failed to remit more than 1 billion naira to federation account.

sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=72556

Did we hear such when Pharm Dora was there? huh

Hmmm, now tell me why they won't rather die protecting their unmerited portfolios as CMD, NAFDAC heads,Ministers, Director of Kitchen, security etc

It's all about grab..grab..grab for them.

Let astute Health Administrators head our Hospitals. Physicians should concentrate on treating patients. That what they are trained for, not fighting to lord over other health professionals who are also well lettered.
This man, when I first encountered you on other threads I must confess I enjoyed debating with you ( i remember using the words conscientious and intelligent commenting on your posts) despite our agreement to disagree, with time you began to ( deteriorate) post half truths then outright lies and I lost interest in your posts/ comments on any issue as you became emotional instead of logical.

Evidence of how far you are gone is exemplified by the above post. I see the term medical before dr and pharm instead of prof. Nice one but I see through it.

I think its time for you to consider a career in shady journalism.

Left for me, i prefer listening to radio than sitting on the couch watching some crapped television stations.

prettyprettywow: Each state regulates their own. NP are fighting for independence, and so far, 20 states allow them to practice independently as written above, and the main aim is to reach under served population. NOTE that Drs are seriously fighting and lobbying against it as usual.
The aim is to reach underserved population, OK.

As regards your other post concerning alternative means to combat the suffering of the masses care to explain.

I am objective. In case you missed the sarcasm concerning mj's doc. What I was saying is not inky Nigerian drs make mistakes. Drs everywhere are also prone to errors because they are human. This thread was only opened to bash Nigerian drs as the title is misleading

I never said anything about peeps who wanted to study medicine that's your own opinion not mine.
