sandijey: Everybody is entitled to their own opinion. And people talk based on experiences. If I did not grow up in a hospital environment I would have said I don't no anything or the fact that I saw first hand things that happuen in the hospital. So don't come here and be talking bull. Until when u are directly affected before u no how painful this things are. And I will stand by my word anywhere, many Nigerian doctors are incompetent. Especially the young ones. You don't have to agree. But to say an envious. Envious of what? Is it not this same country. Or do doctors get jobs immediately they finish? Or is there a special allowance they get? Or does the name magically put food on their table........you were not envious of the Dr, You were envious that she looked good. shikena. i also grew up inm a hospital environment so what are you saying. how many Nigerian Drs have you come across that you tag many incompetent. i also have handled emergencies and have had family members rushed to emergency units so I HAVE BEEN THERE. |
sandijey: Envy that what? That people who are meant to save lives spend more time looking beautiful.you are still on this case that she saves lives does that mean she shouldn't look after herself? haba be fair and you are a woman yourself. |
princenonny: you are simply envious because the dr is young, beautiful and sexy. She knws she has beauty and brains in abundance so is it a crime to express it? Obviously u are primitive minded and I want u hater to leave d hospital n go n consult herbalists since dey hv better primitive care u r seeking for. By d time dey pack ur kidneys d sexy dr in question will be ever willing to rescue your wretched soulDont mind her jare. nothing person no go see |
suavelara: I buttress your point "the doctors directed the patients to their private clinics"...even when they are not on strike, they brainwash their patients and redirect them to their own private hospitals so that they can line their own pockets with the exorbitant fees they charge...I have a personal example of thatThis issue on redirection to private clinics makes me laugh. majority of Nigerians who visit govt hospitals don't have enough money to go private ( or you think they don't know the way there) then arriving there the same dr will send you to where you are running from. its hilarious. the people who go to private clinics don't even come near govt hospitals cos they can afford it, i have personally seen numerous people who have come to the govt hospital and ask specifically to be directed to a private clinic where they can meet a specialist. they don't have time for govt hospital wahala, and the reason they do this is because many "DRS" are out there. |
sandijey: Infact just go to luth and see them. I was disgusted. There was this young doctor I saw. Jisoxxxxx. U should see the high heel she wore. She was cat walking to come and answer my mum who was almost dying. Very fair skinned lady. Wiv bogus make up. My dad even thought she was a nurse. Throughout my duration in luth, that lady was always on high heels cat walking in the emergency section. I just laugh. I wish our herbal practitioners can get educated and improve. E better make person dey drink agbo than go to this hospitals. I can't count how many people doctors have killed. Wrong diagnosis, wrong medications. Everything is wrong wiv Nigerian doctors o.am very sure you cant also count the number of people Drs have saved. ps your post stinks of ENVY. |
Cityguy: You blame them? Some are under what you can call 'bandwagon' or 'mob' effect. Years back, theatre staff had told my CMD while he was operating a patient that I stood for pints of blood for the said patient and he smiled after which he said 'my boy, you will understand with time'. That I still remember till date. The patient refused paying and part of my first salary as an intern was deducted at source. I can't count the number of times patients absconded after begging and promising to pay if only you could help them out. For those in the know, that word 'selfish' had lost it's bite and potency. In my PGDMgt class, I was taught that even one great economist said society develops when people pay for what they consume. My barber has it written somewhere in his shop 'No credit today, come tomorrow'. This our mentality has to change.but you be Dr na, that barber suppose dey cut your hair free since you dey save lives. abi u never tell am? |
double0seven: @jppohilips phantom: JP Philips.........flawless opinion as usual. I just wish the average Nigerian had just half your foresight. if they did,we would be in the hospitals working.if you own your private establishment according to the law |
Oduduwaboy: Your level of ignorance is pathetic .i wanted to say this to the post you quoted, Drs dont go around parading themselves as Drs cos its already who they are, its those who aren't but want to be that parade themselves. |
candy: You have not told us how you chose your RESPONDENTS.dont waste your time, people are fond of throwing around statistics like magicians pulling figures from the air. this guy will pretend not to see your question. one guy said 70% of Drs are untrained or something like he actually carried out a study. |
I give up. **** strolls across the temple and sits between Ares and Poseidon. ***** |
splasher: Please allow others to be involved in patient care and contact. It is not your sole right and responsibility. Healthcare is a team approach. Enough of this professional bullying, or you guys are going to get it hot from me. 70% of your management is through drug administration and interaction, which you come a distant second to the pharmacist. I advise you to stick to corrective procedures, as I forsee this is an exclusive place for you. We cyber judges will give you a fair judgement in that arena.I should allow? So you agree it is not your place in the first place. It is my sole right and RESPONSIBILITY so NO i would not allow you to manage a patient. Stick to your research and drug production that's your part of the TEAM work. It is not bullying its division of labour. You aren't the only one with an internet connection so as you cyber judge me so will I cyber judge you. Besides stop with the threats go to the politics section and see what heat is all about compared to that section this is kindergarten. |
soludo93: Considering the fact that major complicated health issues are referred abroad, I am of the opinion that doctors should earn as much as other health workers and nothing more. This is because the bulk of work they do can equally be managed with equal results by other medics and paramedics. This is not a means to ridicule doctors but to put in perspective the little health attention that Nigeria doctors can offer compared to other doctors overseas.WTF!!!! |
anergy: I did not even mention MBBS or MD in my post. I only corrected a misconception that medical student don't write research work b/4 graduation.Individual research work is done as part of the community health requirements. Group work is also done. You MUST pass both to jump the community health hurdle. |
splasher: Is time we allow those involved in drug management monitor their patient they prescribe the drug for. Finally you say what you wanted all along. Point of correction pharmacist you do not prescribe apart from over the counter drugs. If you want to be involved in patient contact and care you know what to do |
Johncuppa: I read something like 'Doctors dont head other health workers position' bt i got to undastand dat d present DG for nafdac is a doctor. Ow come? Why don't you research and make your own opinion instead of waiting for someone else's. |
Smartsyn: true, then. maybe am cursed with meeting only the greedy onesOK how many of these greedy doctors have u met. |
As usual so many comments without any knowledge of the issue on ground. |
People persih for lack of knowledge. As I have said before all those cursing here I believe are not a majority of the masses. Keep it coming our skins are thick. Only time will tell. ****Dbard shift for me make I siddon*** |
allycat: The general consensus I get from these threads is that the Nigerian public does not require the services of these idiots called Doctors. So why all the noise, take your sick to the pharmacist, physiotherapist , MLS and nurses, no one is stopping you. After all some years ago Borno state brought in Egyptian technologist who were acting as doctors. Yes people died but it's better than being treated by a lousy Nigerian doctor. In everything in life there is the law of demand and supply if people stop looking for doctors then we(cos I am one) will find our level. Shikena!Simple economics. Demand and supply. Am sure you are also amazed at the level of antagonism coming from the populace though I don't believe that they represent a majority, its funny that these same people cursing out here will use speed to get to the hospital screaming dr dr when the "oppressed ones" have pushed them into the embrace of the grim reaper expecting the arrogant god to perform miracles. Its beyond my comprehension. |
YourHealthlabs: Actually the implementation of FG-JOHESU agreement was 'put on hold' temporarily and NMA was ask to suspend strike action and maintain status quo while negotiations were initiated. Our 'demi gods' in NMA flouted the order.NMA and MDCAN are two entities. |
Hearme: Keep shut if you don't know. Academy used to be a 3years program in the past. With the introduction of degree, it became a 5years program. Around 2002 -2003 cadets training was returned to 4years such that about 3 regular courses of cadets graduated within 4years, before it was returned back to a 5year program. So as rightly as he has said, those officers who enlisted within those years are captains.I sought information from someone else and you are here insulting. You know the adage of argument and fools right. |
emerich: Information Mr I know it allLet me understand you. The cadre of current officers who are captains and above now went through a four year program. Is that what you are saying. |
adekayo1234: from what I have read so far here, It seems many don't know the meaning of satire....My people perish for lack of knowledgeDude its hilarious |
emerich: What did you mean by their demand being genuine? They are only being myopic, self centered n selfish, am a health worker, so if you don't have anything to say why not just shut up or get informed.Everyone is entitled to his opinion. |
I Will sue you for putting up my childhood photo without permission. |
omegafeetal: Rubbish talk! gods indeed! If u went to school for ten yrs and studied so many courses at a tym wats my business, afterall u ve been compensated wit ur entry level into d civil service. U studied wat u lyk and I did wat I lyk, but because u admitted d patient and offer some services doesnt make u sole healthcare provider in d team of professionals that must make every decision, including what n how other professionals must be remunerated. It will be very stupid n unprofessional of a sensible surgeon to carry out a surgery without d theatre nurse, d anaesthetist, and a whole lot of others just because he claimed to own d patient. "gods" indeed I wonder wat a soldier that endangers his life to save others should be called.Another comprehension issue. I am actually enjoying this thread because it shows some people don't even know what satire/ sarcasm is. Either that or reading topics and concluding from there We know those who the symptom fits. |
blink182: Please look up the meaning of satire and sarcasm, that's what the article is about. That's a nurse. Simple comprehension. All she saw was drz and gods in the same sentence and she went on rampage. |
Mbediogu: the issue is not whether doctors are becoming gods like journalists who have been known to start and end wars thro the ages with what they write, it goes beyond that. Our calling is that of service, not speculation and unfortunately it is always a matter of life and death rather than of war and peace.I have talk to no end on this issue on this forum my opinions though, to no end. The general public is ignorant if the facts in ground and NMA has to do some educating on this issue. As far as the public is concerned drs are on strike to increase their pay full stop. |
I really applaud johesu for their publicity stunt either that or the teeming ignorance as to what contains in the health sector by most Nigerians. Multiple attempts to explain the issues on ground have failed to educate Nigerians. However it is well. The truth no matter what comes out. All it takes is time. |
