[s] Like I said the so many people go to school and the school doesn't go through them, they fail to develop the ability to reason, to use initiative, the think to do things for themselves, to look at evidence and draw conclusions. You are arguing a point from a position of ignorance I have already listed so many points including the King of warri publicly stating that he is a descendant of oduduwa. You are waiting for me to tell you? This is why our graduates are unemployable...dullness everywhere!!!! [/s]

[s] God gave you a brain, use it, the purpose of an education is to give the brain some common sense and teach you how to think and reason, use it. Man gave you books, read them. man gave you google, use it. Everything you want is out there is you can be bothered. Nothing I say will make a difference so it's up to you to find the truth if that is really what you want to know. You have books, you have the internet and i assume despite preliminary evidence to the contrary that you have a brain and common sense. [/s]

before people stop arguing out of ignorance over yoruba and Delta, maybe they should take a minute and look at the map of Nigeria, look at the south coast from ondo to bayelsa.

When you realise the proximity of these locations to yoruba land, and the fact that the Fulanis you call Nigerians today were not in Nigeria a few hundred years ago, it's not difficult to realise that there are people from the SS who may not be classed as Yorubas today because they are not part of present Yoruba states but are yoruba in origin, they may have been migrants.

If you go back far enough, everybody is a migrant.
that is only a wish

just tell us where yorubas can be found in south south not stories

Though trump was more personal but hilary couldnt focus on issues too. Both were throwing tantrum here and there. Trump would compare every point with that of clinton while hilary centered her foreign policy answers on russia as if they are the sole problem of America.

Dont know who will win but i prefer trump.

Politics › Edo Election: PDP Winning 13 Out Of 19 Lgas by Armaggedon(op): 9:17am On Sep 29, 2016
The fat lady may have sang her last verse in the gubernatorial tussle in Edo between the All Progressive Congress [APC] and the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP]. This is as unconfirmed but highly reliable source indicates that the PDP has scored victories at the 13 local government areas [LGAs] out of the 18 LGAs of the State. Counting of votes is expected to resume by 7am today. The Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] in Edo State had suspended counting of votes last night. Prior to suspending the counting exercise, the INEC officials covered 10 LGAs namely – Orionmwhon, Ovia NE, Uhunwode, Ikpoba-Okha, Esan West, Esan north east, Etsako central, Egor, Etsako west and Oredo. The results from INEC indicate APC to be leading in Egor, Oredo and Etsako west. APC is expected to win Owan East and Akoko Edo – they are considered APC strongholds. However security personnel who spoke to 247ureports.com indicate that “alot has happened between last night and this morning”. He suggests that the INEC may have succumbed to the efforts to compromise the process. The PDP had already raised concerns of potential rigging by the ruling party in the state – during the said downtime of last night till today’s morning. Some of the insiders within the security agents reveal that the results had already been written and submitted to the INEC officials. 247ureports.com obtained a copy of what the said result is. The results show APC with a resounding victory – with “15 LGAs to be declared won by APC and 3 LGAs to be declared won by PDP“. The breakdown goes this way… Edo North; APC- 6 LGAS. PDP-0. **Edo Central; APC-2 LGAS. PDP-3LGAS. **Edo South. APC-7 LGAS. PDP-0 LGA. Stay tuned.

The rivers state website is http://riversstate.gov.ng It is even acknowledged on http://riversstate.net.ng/contact/ which is the website being brandished by those who claim there are no Igbos in Rivers state. All govenment websites in Nigeria ends with 'gov.ng'

BTW, i found the below on this website managed by fed. Min. of communication technology
Created on May 27, 1967, Rivers state covers
a total area of 11,077 km (4,277 sq mi) and
has a total population of 5,198,716 as at the
2006 census. With an average population
density of 469/km (3063/sq mi) and a total
GDP (2010) of $21,073 Million, at $3,965 Per
Capita.
Rivers State is one of the 36 states of
Nigeria. Its capital is Port Harcourt. It is
bounded on the South by the Atlantic Ocean,
to the North by Imo, Abia and Anambra
States, to the East by Akwa Ibom State and
to the West by Bayelsa and Delta states.
Rivers state is home to three main ethnic
groups: Igbo, Ijaw, and Ogoni.

The inland part of Rivers state consists of
tropical rainforest; towards the coast the
typical Niger Delta environment features
many mangrove swamps. Agriculture is the
main occupation of the people of Rivers
State and the agricultural policy of the state
government is anchored on food
production. This provides employment for
young school leavers and university
graduates. These agricultural activities are
grouped' under Community Block Farming
Scheme, Community Fishing Scheme,
Livestock Scheme and Rabbitry. Rivers State
has one of the largest economies in Nigeria,
mainly because of its crude oil.

which website said there are no Ijaws in Rivers? Don't drag ijaws into your troubles.

If Ikwerre keep saying they aren't Igbo, that should be their headache and business. All these threads that wails more than the bereaved only send message of desperation and insecurity.

NB: I'm not interested in further conversation on this subject, and I'll gladly ignore you and others that seek to overstretch this conversation.

http://riversstate.net.ng/people-and-culture/
[/s] The dominant
ethnic groups are Ijwa, Ikwere, Etche,
Ogoni, and Ogba/Egbema.

I found the above on same website. We have not forgotten that you left Apc because Amaechi (number 1 ikwerre man) declared he is Igbo.

Btw there are no ijaws in Rivers state going by Rivers state cos the state recognizes neither igbo nor Ijaw but we already know Rivers state is almost an Igbo state.

its either you are being plain silly or you are trying to curry some favour from some Igbophobic elements. Every sane mind who followed the thread from the beginning will not have the course to arrive at your terribly insane judgement.

Op made a very wrong statement by saying that most Niger delta groups have nothing to do with Igbo. Igboid corrected him with a fact-laden lecture, and instead of noting the correction, he replied with an insult and went ahead to exchange Igbophobic banters and you want to absorb him of blame. Does his claim that Igbos want to 'annex' them not prove that he is a lowlife bigot?

To think of the fact that you claim to know him as a neutral person annoys me. The frathermathy handle is same one as Jacysandra imposting as Asaba girl and another third Handle claiming kwale and he use all of them to bash Igbos. In most of his threads he always finds a way to rope Igbos into it in order to attract tribal banters and i will share some of them. Pls never compromise your love for Igbo just to be seen by others as reponsible 'cos they actually portray you as irresponsible.

Chiwude:
Ngozi nwannem nwanyi, I saw the blunder of the OP and I think it was uncalled for. Whether intentional or accidental he shouldn't had included such controversial statement in his article. However, if you know the antecedent of Frathermarthy, you would understand he isn't one used to stoking tribal sentiments. I have known him for years here on nairaland and can testify that he isnt anti-Igbo. He made a blunder and has now edited his post after much banter. So, I see no reason why we shouldn't shelth our sword. Enuguboy4nsk as well as the numerous Urhobo warriors can be likened as uninvited warriors coming to pour more fire in a burning house. Their conducts and comments were childish and shouldn't be condoned.
Igboid is a good brother of mine. He did'nt do wrong by calling the OP to order, at least if I was in his shoes, I would have done so too. But am sorry to say that sometimes he doesn't know how to pick his fights. Ndigbo as it stand especially on nairaland should pick its fights wisely. We shouldn't go about creating enemies for ourselves and that including jumping on every thread uninvited. The Urhobo people arent our enemies and even the thread in question was opened by a concerned Urhobo to solve a burning issue bothering them. Igboid is a pro-Igbo just like me and one whom I learnt a lot from. However, I didnt rebuke him because of his person - because I admire him and would want to associate with him, but because his first comment showed someone in a haste to derail the thread, by rushing to bring Igbo connection with Urhobo people. Even if he wanted to counter the claims of the OP that the Niger-Delta tribes (inclusive of the Igboid groups) have SOMETHING in common with the Igbos, he should have gone ahead to open a thread for that purpose, and allow the Urhobo people share ideas on how to stop their language from going into extinction. But before then he should have first called the attention of the OP to the perceived blunder. As I said earlier Frathermarthy isn't one known to harbour a conceited hatred for Ndigbo, and trust me when I say he would have edited that sentence. Shalom!
its either you are being plain silly or you are trying to curry some favour from some Igbophobic elements. Every sane mind who followed the thread from the beginning will not have the course to arrive at your terribly insane judgement.

Politics › Re: Meaning Of Names Of 7 Igbo Governors, S/east, South by Armaggedon: 5:23pm On Sep 21, 2016
Abagworo:
"Ugwu" could mean dignity or respect as pronounced in Ugwuanyi.
pls when you know nothing about a topic always try to subdue the urge of passing the wrong message to avoid confusing people. Igbo language is a tonal language which unlike english language requires one to know the correct tones associated with each vowel sound in other to know the meaning of a word. Words like akwa and oke have four meanings depending on the tonal sounds used. That is why we have tonal signs, that is also why pple insist their names are pronouced correctly to make the meaning obvious. Its is almost impossible to have a word with a particular tonal sound having two meanings except its a slang. Using music signs 'ugwu' can have three meanings thus:

Ugwu /d/gw/d/ = dignity
Ugwu /m/gw/d/ = circumcision
Ugwu /m/gw/m/ = hill

the last one 'hill' is a popular surname in Enugu especially Nsukka area.

Ugwuanyi is correctly pronouced

Ugwuanyi /m/gw/m/ /r/ny/r/
which means our hill. Saying it could mean dignity shows you dont know the pronunciation

again, Ikpeazu is correctly pronouced thus:

Ikpeazu /d/kp/d/ /d/z/r/ which means last child, last born or last person. The one that means "the end" and "back judgement" come with other sounds.
