I was ecpecting something like this, looking for cheap sympathy, so u bring dasuki and kanu's case because a lot of people will start calling it a witch hunt, well I will not, the issue on ground is who collected money not who gave who bail.

Soft pedal punishment, so a judge will take huge bribe, because what more can be done to him apart from compulsory retirement, which is the heaviest punishment amongst the ones listed. Until these guys start entering the Docks themselves, the NJC has not yet done anything.. try these guys or recommend their prosecution along with their removal from office, then and only then would the system be free, because it would serve as deterrence to others.

I have discovered that our representatives have nothing doing. Where in the world has one arm of government had total autonomy? What then happens to checks and balances? If they seek to cut presidents powers to size, den they must start talking of removing their oversight functions on both arms of government too. I guess they wouldn't, because thats their avenue of collecting bribes. They are using Buhari's case as a yardstick, when in fact they should have used Goodluck's refusal to reinstate Justice Ayo Salami, back in 2012: that was an outright rejection of the recommendation of the NJC. What Buhari has done has absolutely nothing to do with what the bill seeks to address, that's my own point of view,. Saraki has been arrested, under going trial as well, so y not the judicial officers. Their bill will only bring chaos into a system that has already been plagued by anarchy..

True talk, the judges supporting should come out clear so we know what exactly they are saying,,, I think it's high time the judiciary is cleaned up, judgement in this country has been an issue of the highest bidder gets d favorable ruling... Things should change, we should not be seen celebrating corruption, if so, we risk giving oxygen to an already blazing fire...

This has been the best news I have read in many years.. this is long overdue, most judges behave like gods. At least this would send a signal to the rest of them.. well this sort of thing is not really a surprise, paying close attention to how judgements are given in this country, one would always know that something fishy is going on,, I salute the president for having the courage face this group of maniacs head on.

Wikileaks released an unclassified U.S. Department of State document emailed to Clinton, dated April 2, 2011. Sidney Blumenthal, the sender of the email confirmed what the world already suspected. Qaddafi was not killed for humanitarian purposes but for the oil and for money. His ideas of an African gold-backed currency were his major undoing.

In April 2011, then President of the World Bank, Robert Bruce Zoellick spoke at a panel discussion about how he hoped the World Bank would have some sort of role in the reconstruction of Libya along with other countries.

“Reconstruction now means (Ivory Coast), it now means Southern Sudan, it means Liberia, it means Sri Lanka, I hope it will mean Libya,” he said.

“So, we might ask ourselves: What happens when a “rogue” country threatens to bring the banking system that benefits the corporatocracy to its knees?” he asked later saying the Western empire has a standing army (NATO) to violently protect its position.

Libya was the “rogue” nation but the question is: Just what did Gaddafi have in mind?

According to the IMF, Libya’s Central Bank is 100% state owned and in 2011, it was estimated to have 144 tons of gold in its vaults. Muammar Gaddafi’s plan was to introduce a gold-backed currency which he hoped African and Muslim nations would adopt. He felt it could rival the euro and the dollar, and rightly so too.

Sidney Blumenthal, in his email to Hillary Clinton confirmed, “Qaddafi's government holds 143 tons of gold, and a similar amount in silver. During late March, 2011 these stocks were moved to SABHA (south west in the direction of the Libyan border with Niger and Chad); taken from the vaults of the Libyan Central Bank in Tripoli.”

He went on to say the gold and silver was valued at $7 billion and was one of the reasons Nicolas Sarkozy embarked on a French attack of Libya.

“Sarkozy's plans are driven by the following issues:

a. A desire to gain a greater share of Libya oil production,

b. Increase French influence in North Africa,

c. Improve his internal political situation in France,

d. Provide the French military with an opportunity to reassert its position in the world,

e. Address the concern of his advisors over Qaddafi's long term plans to supplant France as the dominant power in, Francophone Africa,” wrote Blumenthal.

If Qaddafi had succeeded, the United States of America and Europe would have been forced to buy oil and minerals in the gold backed currency thus tipping the scales. This was a horror the West dared not experience. The situation would have been a more lethal re-enactment of Saddam Hussein’s currency wars when he supported the new Euro currency at the expense of the United States Dollar. At this point, the U.S. was highly insecure about the effects of the new currency to its economy. Hussein’s decision to sell oil in the then new currency was a blow to the U.S. worsened by the proclamation that the dollar was the “currency of the enemy”. Currency wars have therefore been a fact of history with the Hussein situation being a peculiar intra-Western conflict that culminated in the Middle East instability promulgated by U.S. interventionist policies. That Qaddafi would be killed for planning to introduce an African currency to the fray is not surprising but that does not make it acceptable.

The leaked Clinton email has far-reaching implications on the fluid state of post-colonial relations with the West. If anything, it is an eye-opener. Where Africa seeks to build an independent economic structure, the West is seen to try and derail those plans so as to retain its primacy in world affairs.

With regard to the creation of a new currency, Ministry of Peace Founder, Dr James Thring said, “It’s one of those things that you have to plan almost in secret, because as soon as you say you’re going to change over from the dollar to something else, you’re going to be targeted.”

And Qaddafi was targeted. He may not have been the most democratic leader in the world but Libyan citizens had arguably the best way of life in Africa. His plan of action (without the human rights violations) should be a blueprint for African development.

The Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose on Tuesday said his criticisms of President Muhammadu Buhari was not borne out of his hatred for him but out of his conviction that at 73, Buhari was not strong enough to lead a complex country like Nigeria.

The governor, who spoke at an event organised by the Oyo State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to celebrate the World Press Freedom Day in Ibadan, said those who voted for Buhari in the last presidential election did not know who he was.



He stressed that in the last one year, Nigeria had never had it so bad, noting that the fuel crisis, exchange rate of dollar to naira, killings by Fulani herdsmen and power situation were indices that showed that Buhari’s government lacked the idea to rule the country.

Fayose said, “People say that I abuse Buhari, I am not abusing him because he is like my grandfather but I know the history. Eighty per cent of people that voted for Buhari in the South-West did not know him. They are between 18 and 40. They voted because they wanted change desperately and I agree with them. He left government 32 years ago so they did not experience his rule.

“Today, the Peoples Democratic Party is no longer in government so they should stop blaming the PDP. They told us that dollars would become one to one with the naira. But where is that today? The regime of fuel subsidy is gone and we now have food subsidy. Queues are back at petrol stations. Whatever I say is divine. The next thing to happen will be the removal of the Kogi State governor. I have not lost a battle in my life and when I lost one, I came back to win.

“We have never had it so bad like in the last 12 months; electricity has gone to zero and we no longer have light in our houses. I am here to tell Nigerians that we are in the wrong direction because you cannot give what you don’t have. There is a time to retire because of the diminishing return on the functionality of the brain. At 75, my mother can do little.”

The governor also criticised the anti-corruption war of Buhari, describing it as biased.

“When you want to deal with corruption, do it wholeheartedly. Don’t say because this person has now joined the All Progressives Congress, he is now a saint. When I was supporting the ACN, they gave me many titles. Now that I am no longer with them, they see me as an enemy,” he said.

I do not blame Fayose, if he dos not speak against d president, he might lose d title of Leader of PDP, so in order to remain relevant to some set of persons he can afford To speak garbage. He thinks its easy to run a country, when states like his are acting as parasite to the federal Government, if there is no monthly allocation, they is nothing to eat, just like my Benue state. If the guy is busy like other governors we would not be hearing trash every day, he is not the only Governor from PdP. If Fayose thinks he has the best policies for moving the country 4ward y not state such policies @ d same time he condemns d@ of Buhari, so d@ Nigerians are able to compare and Contrast? Saraki’: 17 Political Parties Ask CCT Judge to Resign


Seventeen registered opposition political parties on Wednesday demanded the immediate resignation of the presiding judge of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Danladi Umar, for his alleged compromise and bias in the ongoing trial of the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The political parties also faulted the recent clearance of justice Umar from alleged corruption charges, saying, “the only way President Buhari could prove that his government is indeed more serious about fighting corruption is to direct an immediate investigation into the circumstances that led to the EFCC issuing this so-called letter of clearance to Mr. Danladi.”



Similarly, a rights group under the aegis of Coalition of Civil Society and Pressure Groups, have decried the occupation of the National Assembly by a group known as #OccupyNASS, alleging political motive behind the protest.

However while addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, the national chairman of Labour Party, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, who spoke on behalf of the parties, alleged that it has become clearer that Justice Danladi Umar, has become an interested party in the case, hence, he should step down from the Saraki trial.

Some of the political parties represented at the conference include; Labour Party, LP, PPN, AA, MPPP, NCP, DPP and ADC among others.

“We believe his continued stay on the bench while this defendant is appearing before the Tribunal supports the conspiracy theory that there is an agenda to convict Dr. Saraki by all means. President Buhari needs to act now, not to stop Saraki’s trial but to ensure that the process of fighting corruption does not end up being even more corrupt than the corruption it seeks to eliminate.”

Naija, people can turn facts just in a matter of seconds to suit their biding, the EFCC found no sufficient evidence to prosecute UMAR, d@s was d reason for the letter of clearance, and the said letter was issued in March last year, even before Saraki, Buhari and d host of others came into power, nd the letter was written by the then EFCC boss Larmode Ibrahim, and not Magu, and the letter was addressed to Adoke, who was the Attorney General, during GEJ regime. And for the record the EFCC is not the Prosecution in this case but the CCB.
