cjrane: I agree with you. This is when Obiano can do what Tinubu did with ACN to capture the SE without being almost apologetic to PDP, while we are in APGA.
No matter what happens at the Federal level, as far as we are concerned, we must continue to secure good governance in our region through APGA.
On April 11th, our people must not look back in securing good accountable leadership in our region through APGA. to be honest only abia can fall to apga due to the masses disillusionment with present abia administration coupled with the calibre of the apga candidate (but abia pdp rigging style is as formidable as it is crude) |

cjrane: Unless somehow, Ngige is able to convince Buhari to fo some Amazing projects in Anambra to win APC many grassroot dupport, even with American might, Ngige cannot win in Anambra. Now they can falsify election results as they like, but just as Peter booted him out in the courts for false elections result, will whoever he cheats to occupy any position. Nigeria is getting to a stage where elections will truly be elections. well if ngige wants to win back the hearts of anambra people then he has to convince the incoming government to do some projects that would benefit the people immensely |

Kagame: PDPs loss at the center is very bad news for Anambra politics ,even though its good for the nation.
Anambra is a politically competitive state as shown by the high number of rich and influential people vying for various political positions - sometimes you see 15 -20 people vying for just one political position !
Somehow ,PDPs grip at the center has kept the brigands busy at the center ,while the state experienced a new lease of life and experienced political peace under sucessive APGA govts. Also the political space was opened at the state level for sincere politicians to emerge and the result is quite visible from the developmental strides recorded so far.
Now that PDP has lost at the center, the PDP brigands/career politicians and the new APC government through Ngige will return for the soul of anambra. Ngige will return with federal might while the PDP guys will ignore the pact of non-agression between the GEJ govt and APGA at the local level. These PDP guys have no scruples !
Obiano must perform and keep his political base strong else he'd be swept away by the coming tsunami !
APGA has been good to Anambra and I hope it remains so. I forsee ngige with the nee found federal backing come after the ubas, peter obi and maybe even obiano and ekwunife.problem is anambra might be back to political brigandage that used to plague it |

maestroferddi: Politics is not mathematics.
If the voting pattern play out as experienced in the presidential elections, then the likes of Rochas and Amaechi may have won the battle but would lose the war.
I daresay that there is strong populist sentiment against the two figures in their respective zones. Buhari's popularity is almost nonexistent in the SE and SS and I don't envy him that the two zones have a unity of direction in his incoming government.
Abia state will easily be won by the PDP. We are talking of local politics here so you may not understand. I personally think that APGA is presently living on life support. The Igbos won't be that impractical to accommodate a two-party opposition. pdp can only win abia guber by rigging...i will not be surprised if those senate and how election results in abia are upturned because the rigging was just crude and can easily be noticed |

Politics › Re: Why Igbos Must Vote For Rochas & Other APC Candidates In SE Next Week by asha80(m): 9:37pm On Apr 02, 2015 |
pazienza: The problem with the Imo, is that the opposition in Ihedioha (PDP) and Iheanacho(APGA) would divide each other's vote, allowing Rochas easy victory.
Can't Ihedioha and Iheanacho come to an agreement and present a United front. They need to close ranks and ensure Rochas defeat. If they both contest against Rochas, they will both lose. One of them must step down, that's the only solution. it ain't happening so forget it |
Politics › Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by asha80(m): 8:45pm On Apr 02, 2015 |
Cuche: Trusting in any assurance from President Jonathan is not the solution. GEJ is still confused at the moment and may remain that way till the PDP top guys make the final decision on whether to give a final push on frustrating the handover or not. The guys who give the others use the President's name even when he is not aware of it. They wouldn't mind making the call directly from the President's private line Let's not forget they are still in power and in near absolute control of the apparatus of Government be it police or military. However, one language the rigging agents understand is how much card do you place on the table. They will be able to disobey directives from the oga who gives very little and issues more orders as against the oga who displays more card. I think Obiano should pay Anyim a visit, going with gentlemen who are good negotiators, the earlier the better. Make a conclusive deal between now and the 11th after all Anyim does not really like Obi or his friends
Even a 50-50 situation in Anambra State House of Assembly will not favour Obiano or the State Government . I personally do not think Buhari will care less about the APGA-PDP battle when the chips are down if care is not taken the relative political peace anambra has been experiencing might be shattered by all these political bruhaha and I am not sure if obiano is strong enough to withstand it |

NewNigeriaMind: See let me tell you the difference between the Yoruba and Ibo...
A Yoruba man is the most rational human being I have ever come across. A Yoruba man above all else will tell himself the truth, hence before other people know it the Yoruba man has a plan for his survival.
On the other hand, the ibo man is a very sentimental being and quick to make irrational decisions even when faced with better facts. An example is Rochas, he gave ibos a reason he contested apc PRIMARIES and I think his reasons are very reasonable, rather than support him, the whole of ibo rather made him an object of ridicule. Another is when Jonathan came to anambra state and he told ibo people that have the most private jets in Nigeria, we told ibo people that is a blatant lie but you called us names, just a few weeks back NCAA released the names of private jet owners in Nigeria, please go and that list and do the math if ibos are up to 10%. you shouldn't allow people play on your emotions.
We all have our strength and weaknesses, politics is not just for the ibo man. look at both tribes historically, while the Yorubas are republican in nature the ibos are egalitarian in nature. you are who you are, learn from it, become better.
an alliance with the north will never happen or with the south south. you know that is the truth. the only tribe in Nigeria that has ever treated the ibo people fairly is the Yoruba nation. Till today ibo people are still fighting for abandoned property in the south south, while all ibo property in south west and rent was retuned and paid to the owners after the war. search your heart, you know all I have said is the undiluted truth. like I said I hope you do not eat your words..it is easy to get carried away by the present euphoria |

NewNigeriaMind: Will the North work with the South east now is the question.....
You don't have a tinubu to broker such a deal......
You don't have the political clout or party to bargain with, DONT FOOL YOURSELVES PDP IS A NORTHERN AGENDA AND IMMMEDIATELY JONA LEAVES PDP IN EAST AND SOUTH ARE DEAD.
Your people are not rational, you think with sentiments and past while forgetting the future.....
tell me, who in the south east can broker such a deal.
ABOVE ALL, SORRY TO SAY THIS THOUHG IT MAY SOUND RASH, BUT ITS STILL THE TRUTH.... THE SOUTH EAST HAVENT DEVELOPED POLITICALLY TO PRODUCE POLITICIANS THAT CAN COME CLOSE TO THE LIKES OF TINUBU OR OBASANJO, THE CLOSEST HIS OKOROCHA AND WE HAVE ALL SEEN HOW THE EAST HATE HIM.
STOP DREAMING AN ALIANCE BETWEEN THE EAST AND NORTH IS BUT A DREAM, YOU CANNOT MAKE IT HAPPEN ok you seem so sure..hope u do not eat your words...it is easy to be carried away |

We only sank further into it. what did obj do for the average Yoruba man?did he even reconstruct Lagos abeokuta road?what was the effect of anyim on the average Igbo guy?which ethnic group individually has the highest middle class?..the only interest I have is infrastrural development..having your man at the top is often a psychological feeling |
Politics › Re: Again The South East Misfires by asha80(m): 10:23am On Apr 01, 2015 |
golddeejay: the reality on ground nw is that it is difficult for a southerner to win the presidential election without the north support...this is even made more difficult by d the rivalry btw ibos n yorubas.
But it is more difficult for an ibo to have the support of the north for fear of succession historically the north has worked more with Igbo than Yoruba politically so tour last statement is void |
