PoliticsRe: Federal Government Approves N42bn For Roads Rehabilitation And Construction by asha80(m): 10:27am On Nov 28, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: Southeast and southsouth not part of the N42 billion road contract bazzar. Na wa!
there are already enough roads giving out for construction in those zones.it is doing them that is the issue.
PoliticsRe: South-East And South-South Governors Meets In Awka by asha80(m): 7:50am On Nov 28, 2013
not sure if it is the right time to introduce obiano....though victory is almost certain for him but not confirmed yet.
PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 8:59pm On Nov 25, 2013
PhenomenonVFX: I am beginning to have a soft spot for this Orji dude. He is probably not as bad as u guys make him out to be. I was expecting Umuahia to look like Aba.
The only grouse I have with him is the neglect of Aba. Aba is the life-blood of the state. He should have concentrated his development efforts in Aba as much as Umuahia. Most people I know have no business with Umuahia. Aba is probably more popular.
no get soft spot am...the man na ram.

dualized road in the third pic?where is that?
PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 8:00pm On Nov 25, 2013
FACE: Sam Mbakwe is the 2nd bypass I think and it is yet to be completed.

OK, I won't tell you. I have some good pictures of Owerri but this is not for Owerri.
yes you are right...sam mbakwe is the second bypass and not the one i earlier felt...which road did you use to burst out of emekuku?
PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 7:42pm On Nov 25, 2013
FACE: Just after assumpta, a new by pass to Concorde and Nekede, after the by pass and remodelling of Imo hotels. we are still on our way to Umuahia.
it must be the new sam mbakwe boulevard or road.
PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 7:14pm On Nov 25, 2013
FACE: So I actually dropped out of the sky and hit PH-Owerri road still under construction.
is this approaching owerri?

FACE: Asha, I have been very busy and only remembered nairaland when I was looking through my pictures. I can see the ethnic battle is still on and has entered a nuclear level.

PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 3:52pm On Nov 25, 2013
FACE: Ok, I didn't just drop down from the sky to Umuahia. I passed through some areas from Owerri to Mbaise to Obowo before getting to Umuahia. Owerri has actually burst at the seams and many suburbs are now firmly in Owerri and it is rapidly expanding. Whoever says that Rochas has done nothing in Owerri is full of BS.I can't hold brief for him in other areas but I had a glimpse of Okigwe (Owerri Road) on my way to Enugu from Umuahia. So my Umuahia pictures will start from Imo state.
ok waiting.
PoliticsRe: Welcome To Umuahia by asha80(m): 3:44pm On Nov 25, 2013
op where have you been?....do you have pics to support your claims?...the gov is still a fool to abandon aba.
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 11:06am On Nov 24, 2013
Abagworo: Southeast has been receiving the least funds in Nigeria for more than 40 years but we are thriving. Our major problem remains public utilities, urban renewal, pipe-borne water and good refuse disposal in our cities. In terms of housing, Southeast is far ahead of the rest of the country. Our houses look dirty now because of bad roads and secondly some parts that have laterite surface soil that tends to discolor houses after every harmattan. Our economic hopes lies in Anambra and Abia which actually could have been leading the rest of Africa if not for misplaced priorities by successive governments. The biggest mistake was making Awka and Umuahia capital of Anambra and Abia and in that process denying the required formal/public sector from merging with commerce and industry to create a Kano or Ibadan in Igboland where a State capital will be fully commercial and industrial.

Why have I been a major critic of Peter Obi? From every information at my reach, he tried better than the other Governors before him and that is commendable but if he had focused on Onitsha in particular and Nnewi most of Igboland will be affected positively.

Now these are pictures from Aba and Onitsha which was developed through individual efforts without Goverment contribution.
onitsha is geographically small to be a capital(not including surrounding towns like obosi,,oba, nkwelle ezunaka, nkpor etc)....aba is more like it.

Ngwakwe: @Afam try answering these questions first

I would have taken time to do justice to Afam's obsession only that he has prejudice and moreover the thread has already gone to the dogs. However, I will provide comprehensive analysis and answers if the following questions below are clarified

The only sensible comment here are those of Abagworo and other one or two comments.

Afam's question is a premise on what he sees on the pages of Newspapers and internet hence very much faulty and baseless.

The first question should be what actually constitute development?

What are the immediate need of the people?

What foundation are already on ground to necessitate the second, third etc levels eg Enugu was the capital of East Central States when Umuahia was a glorified village?

What resources are readily available to prosecute those capital development as the case may be?

Are PPP also part of the comparism?

Is debt free balance sheet another type of development?

What roles the FG has played to encourage sustainable development in such area?

What Economic policies of the FG has been favourable to the State to attract foreign investments?

I will be back if Afam provides his answers.
the one i really want him to answer is what really constitutes development
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 7:00pm On Nov 23, 2013
Onlytruth: My brother all the things you listed can NEVER happen without the likes of Soludo leading a state like Anambra or Abia, or even Enugu.
Enugu is trying but it could do more, much more, because it enjoys old development in the main city of Enugu.

My fervent pray is the Obiano will DEPART PERMENANTLY from Peter Obi's philosophy of minute developments scattered throughout the state.
We need hub businesses, and they can never happen without things like power stability and INTERNATIONAL ACCESS.
We have international access now, but we need AMBITIOUS leaders like Soludo.
power is an issue all round the country...what international access are you talking about?onitsha port?
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 6:53pm On Nov 23, 2013
sCun: Precisely! I wonder what they discuss in those development union meetings
those unions started losing their essence in the late eighties.
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 6:01pm On Nov 23, 2013
one.east1:
I never denied am not. But focus on your state and tell us why Chime cannot see beyond his nose in terms of development. Anambra attracted Sabmiller, Chrisoral Group, Orange Drugs, Emzor and kickstarted the Orient Petroleum etc. Do you know the economic implication of these capital injections in the state?

Stop generalizing biko.
it is neimeth not emzor....i have not heard of emzor opening in anambra?
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 5:54pm On Nov 23, 2013
there are basics of development that our leaders overlook....it makes no utter sense to me when a governor builds an airport while the health centres in the state are only fit for rats and building a gigantic stadium in the capital while just two km drive out of that capital you begin to wonder if you are still in the 19th century.
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 5:33pm On Nov 23, 2013
Afam4eva: I didn't intend for it to be a comparison though i juxtaposed the SE with some other parts of the country and i expected that we'll discuss our problems instead of abdicating them for comparisons with other parts of the country.
appearance is different from reality...you should have known better than writing in a way that suggests comparision....by the way some of those things you listed as developments going on in other places are least of the real infrastructure the ordinary or average person needs(not wants).
PoliticsRe: The Dearth Of Development In The South-east by asha80(m): 5:22pm On Nov 23, 2013
Afam4eva: This is the problem. Instead of you to look inward, you always want to compare yourself to others who are probably like you in order for you to look better. That's how failures reason.
i hope you know you the one that started the comparision?read your opening post well.
PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Civil War: A Debt That Must Be Paid by asha80(m): 7:24am On Nov 21, 2013
obayaya: Bros... there are so many threads on anambra elections all over nairaland.. when we meet there we talk about anambra elections
ok no problems.....as for this topic the people that were at the helm of affairs immediately after the bungled whatever positives that could have been extracted from the war.
PoliticsRe: The Nigerian Civil War: A Debt That Must Be Paid by asha80(m): 7:13am On Nov 21, 2013
op..off topic...you stay in onitsha what is the feeling of the average person on the street over the election imbroglio?
PoliticsRe: Policemen Were Thumb Printing For APGA And We Have It All On Tape And More - Ngi by asha80(m): 12:28pm On Nov 20, 2013
niyisky: Elections was conducted in Ondo state and all parties involved accepted the result in good faith because it was free and fair to all. Let us stop supporting nonsense, the election in Anambra is a complete scam.
how come apc contested ondo election results http://tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/component/k2/item/20182-ondo-gov-appeal-s-court-rejects-substitution-of-acn-with-apc-•delivers-judgment-tomorrow.html
PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Distributes Cars To Anambra Directors by asha80(m): 11:53am On Nov 20, 2013
begwong: why not? After the directors might have delivered their local govts by rigging in favor of apga!
clutching at straws.
PoliticsRe: Governor Obi Commissions Agu Awka power Plant by asha80(m): 10:16am On Nov 20, 2013
taharqa: Good development... But, I hv a question: when is d Aba Power Plant going to come on line? When are they commissioning it??
one million dollar question.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Election: I Did Not Rig Alone - Arrested INEC Official by asha80(m): 9:12am On Nov 20, 2013
donphilopus: The man was simply against APC winning the Election in Idimeli LG. So if this happens, the Gov should be blamed
clutching at straws.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Election: I Did Not Rig Alone - Arrested INEC Official by asha80(m): 8:54am On Nov 20, 2013
Sincere 9gerian: The question is who are the "aggrieved politicians" in the Anambra election? If this report is anything to go by, aggrieved chieftains of APC and PDP sabotaged the election in Idemili North.
i even missed that.
PoliticsRe: Anambra Election: I Did Not Rig Alone - Arrested INEC Official by asha80(m): 8:52am On Nov 20, 2013
donphilopus: Are you aware that the PDP chieftain is also an INEC Official??
so?how does that mean he is working for obiano and not his party man nwoye?
PoliticsRe: Anambra Election: I Did Not Rig Alone - Arrested INEC Official by asha80(m): 8:33am On Nov 20, 2013
donphilopus: And some people will still come out and defend Adaobi now
so peter obi is in pdp?pdp chieftain mention here is working for obiano and not nwoye?
PoliticsRe: Governor Obi Commissions Agu Awka power Plant by asha80(m): 10:40pm On Nov 19, 2013
i thought ngige once claimed he attracted this project?

maybe he is doing it for elections lol
PoliticsRe: INEC On Anambra Poll: Only Courts Can Cancel Entire Election by asha80(m): 3:24pm On Nov 19, 2013
berem: That does not qualify him to be a good governor. There are some governors who attained higher qualification and have good experience than Obiano before they became governor and they are great disappointments to their people. If he like let him be the former prime minister of England, doesn't stop him from failing like his predecessor.
i hope in four years time you will not eat your words raw.
PoliticsRe: INEC On Anambra Poll: Only Courts Can Cancel Entire Election by asha80(m): 3:10pm On Nov 19, 2013
obayaya: bros, Ngige just have photons of supporters in the major cities and then his Home lga where he developed very well when he was governor..

but in other parts of state, the lil support he has is actually born outta sympathy from what he went through in the hands of the Ubas.

but he wasted all that political goodwill.. I live in anambra.. so I know..
ngige made a fundamental mistake which is never take your popularity for granted.
PoliticsRe: INEC On Anambra Poll: Only Courts Can Cancel Entire Election by asha80(m): 3:00pm On Nov 19, 2013
someone said here that obiano has no achievement in aministration....you think one can rise to become chief internal auditor of texaco worlwide(the first african to do so) without having anything upstairs....someone that was promoted four times in eight years to reach that chief internal auditor level is no achievement?....some people are fcuktards.
