PoliticsRe: Lagos Dumps Beggars, Homeless In Onitsha by asha80(m): 7:40am On Jul 25, 2013
ballabriggs: When their Governors prevented Fulani herdsmen from going into their zones, it was the right thing but Lagos stopping the nuisance is the wrong thing.

Hypocrites!!! One moment they want Biafra, the next moment they want to own Lagos. They are littered all over Nigeria as if they will allow others to be in their places in a similar way.
yea like all the hausas at numerous ama hausa all over the south east are being disturbed.why not learn a business and enter the east.i guess all your time in owerri you were persecuted for being and ijaw.

ballabriggs: My people say, "Nwa mkpi n'agba ahuonu, onyeweya n'gbakwa ahuonu. Esi ahia, anyi ga ma onye ga pun ibeya aga ahia".

You see I look at you people and I laugh. Those people you all think are "fools" and "aboki" are actually more intelligent than you people think.

What annoys me is, when they finally beat you people to the game, you all start moaning.

Why not sit down and organise yourselves instead of this empty daily chest beating of greatness.
like i said worry about your basket case bayelsa state.i was just observing the thread and laughing at the exchanges until you came in.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Dumps Beggars, Homeless In Onitsha by asha80(m): 7:21am On Jul 25, 2013
ballabriggs: Igbo people littered all over Nigeria and the World while their useless Governors continue to eat nkwobi and small stout with their monthly allocation.

Yet, the very ignorant ones come daily on nairaland beating their empty chest, calling Igbo's the greatest of all time.

Perhaps they will spend all that energy calling their useless Governors to action. The average graduate of a University in the SE has very little hope of getting a job in that zone.

These are the things that should bother you all and not telling us how you own VGC and Lekki. Most of you have never even been to those places but perhaps with a few of your village men living there, then it translates to ownership.

You need to get a life, get a proper life. One moment you want Biafra, the next moment you want to own Lagos.
better worry about your basket case bayelsa state.
PoliticsRe: Igbos Should Forget 2015 Presidency – Arthur Nzeribe by asha80(m): 11:58pm On Jul 24, 2013
Abagworo: Yes Arthur has his flaws which is even on record but it does not stop him from saying some truths. I even have a feeling he went to Abuja for his share.
that is the point.people who had the opportunity of making a change and did not do it should not be making such statements.
PoliticsRe: Igbos Should Forget 2015 Presidency – Arthur Nzeribe by asha80(m): 11:30pm On Jul 24, 2013
Abagworo: Nzeribe spoke the obvious truth. Igbo as a people would rather support someone else than their own because of little patronage. That alone makes others weary of Igbo leadership at high level. We are forever left as supporters of "AGIP" without our own stand.
you of all people who knows arthur should know he should go and seat down.from anpp to pdp and under his active leadership election never occured in oguta so he should be the last person to be making such statements.
PoliticsRe: Obi Awards Pedestrian Bridges, Roads and Stadium To Be Completed Within 30 Weeks by asha80(m): 10:18pm On Jul 24, 2013
Pukkah: Regardless of where they do it, is it not expensive? Is it not asphalt? Can Nigeria develop this way? I also know that governors in the Niger Delta use the terrain to justify the high cost of building roads.

Is one kilometre of road not too expensive at N144million in Anambra? Haba! These thieves in government are killing this country!

Don't developers build housing estates with asphalted or even interlocked roads?
i wish you would make the same remark about the ones built in the south west.

chino11: It is not being barbaric nwanne..

Even the Jews were warned not to marry the Gentile..

As an average Anambra, it is advisable for an Anambran to marry Hausa or Yoruba than getting married to an Imo state people..tufiakwa. Have you not heard that when you see an Mbaise and a snake, that you better kill Mbaise first before the snake. I didnt manufacture this saying here and now.

Afterwards people like Anyaoku had to marry from Yoruba to avoid this same disaster.
i guess anyaoku found ladies from his state so distasteful that he had to marry from another tribe abi?brainless slowpoke.you do not even realise the impart of your statement.

henrychubayo: He is right. I dont know the region you are from but that guy is right. Do you know that 70% TRAVELERS from Nigeria are from East and South South, 25% to the west and 5% to the North. Why should we travel from East to Lagos to enter flight. East are mostly importers who travel far and wild. Do you know when the east start to cry for the international airport, seaport etc. Long time ago. For one thing, the money Lagos makes from travelers in terms of hotels and feeding and shopping is much That is why west may not likely grant the request like OBJ did. The same with North with Kano airport and Abuja. For one thing, the rate of growth of a city and revenues grows once you have things like airport and seaport. That is true talk from him.
my signature indicates where i am from but sometimes you have to be diplomatic in making some statements.being frontal on every issue is usually not the way out.

chino11: My friend cut the crap!!

Where did you read that Anambra has anything to do with Imo state? let me make it clear to you now..we don't have anything in common with you guys. Presently it is even a taboo for any Anambran to take a wife from Imo state. That is an open-secret in Anambra state. So stop bringing Anambra and you imo state together on the pages of NL.

Obi remains an iroko where the clown okorosha is in terms of development. The last I checked there is no single Anambran living in imo state. But conversely 1/3 of imo population have invaded Anambra particularly Onitsha and Nnewi for there economic survival which there home state denied them.

Okorosha has borrowed billions from banks coupled with federal allocation, but one can hardly point at anything on ground he has achieved since 2.5years now. rather all the projects are abandoned, contractor are owed. He is busy giving tinubu his master cheques to the detriment of poor imo state.
normal regurtiated rants of an insecure married man.just post pics of the onitsha.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by asha80(m): 7:55pm On Jul 23, 2013
Edwike: I really do not understand ENUGU state government. What effort are they making to market the Enugu International Airport knowing fully well that other regions, i.e. West and North do not want to see the Enugu International Airport come to fruition. No adverts, no commercial nothing; not even a single media house has carried this August date for the first international flight from Enugu. Only mushroom social websites have been reporting the news. Enugu state gov should wake up and be part of the world. Lure international airlines to Enugu by giving some incentives in form of tax rebate, free hotel accommodation to the airline crew for a period of time etc. That would be an investment for Enugu people. The dividends certainly would be unquantifiable when the airport is fully functional.
guy i am not sure how the west and north come into this.we should be careful how we make certain statements.
PoliticsRe: Obi Awards Pedestrian Bridges, Roads and Stadium To Be Completed Within 30 Weeks by asha80(m): 7:49pm On Jul 23, 2013
chino11: My problem with you is that you talk from the both sides of the mouth..

Am yet to see any SE gov with such a marshal plan and depth as can be seen in the case of Obi. Most govs especially the clown okorosha is busy painting fence without having any thought out plan as to what to do to lift the poor state.

I still don't know why you are worried that Obi is implementing projects even unto his last day in office. He should be commended for not using the funds to play politics like the clown in imo state.

Obi saves for any project he is to embark on, and he makes sure that he finishes it. Even the latest ones he has awarded will be completed within his term as stipulated in the contract because funding no longer the problem. Our major cities is being restore to its glory particularly Onitsha.

I was highly proud on seeing the road expansion that Headbridge, Upper Iweka and entire corridor has witnessed with street lights. The city is now welcoming, clean and organized as more pedestrian bridges are coming on board to restore full order in the commercial/economic hub of SE- Onitsha.

I must conclude by saying that if other SE states must develop then they need an Obi. Obi developmental projects has depth with a base master plan and not jumping from pillar to post without plan.
all these talks about changing face of onitsha with your different monikers makes no sense without pics.

PoliticsRe: The True Enemies Of Ndigbo. by asha80(m): 7:27pm On Jul 23, 2013
REHOZIBAH: Did I mention OUK or KOU in my comment? That's how people fail in school. Even if d thread mentioned OUK n seeks to launder his image somehow,I intentionally didn't tow that line rather choosing to make my opinion broad based n open-ended by addressing the Ndigbo issue without attempting to promote any1 as having d messianic attributes of a presidential material
good.if only becoming president automatically brings properity to his ethic group.the north is a good example.'promising a better tomorrow' as for this statement you made earlier it is laughable if you do not know nigeria's problem is more fundamental than some funny promises of a so called better tomorrow by politicians.
PoliticsRe: The True Enemies Of Ndigbo. by asha80(m): 7:03pm On Jul 23, 2013
REHOZIBAH: As much as I don't play in d Ethnicity league, dis write up is a food for thought for the Ndi'gbos! To think that at every election year, their leaders with the acquiscence of d people themselves have always bcum tongue-tied and refusing to put their best foot forward by strategically positioning themselves as an electoral attractive bride but always content with playing 2nd fiddle owing to their eternal hatred of a so-called enemy(the yorubas before now and the hausas in this dispensation) hence refusing to mount a serious agitation for the presidency of this country beats me hollow

While they are busy dissipating energy on GEJ without concormitant political dividend to show for it,I would rather d igbos become open_minded about their issues and strategically form alliance with any power bloc that promises a better tomorrow rather than using the present strategy of 'd enemy of my enemy is my friend'

I cringe in disbelief whenever I hear Ndigbo commenters say that GEJ will hand over to them hence insulting both the hausas and d yorubas whose votes they will still solicit for in d likelihood of a president of Igbo extraction ever emerging or in d alternative go for Biafra. This is double-speak to say d least...

As much as I don't defer to ethno-religious sentiments in whatever guise,d present realities of Nigeria lends credence to this bitter fact hence d need for all of us to be mindful of whatever we do today cos tomorrow will sure pay us back in greater measure

I would so much wish a president of Igbo extraction become a reality but not in dis way by which youths who are supposed to be open-minded n bridge builders engage in deadly n fierce disparaging of anything about the other regions
i guess ouk is the man right?keep dreaming.

IGBO-SON:
^^^The bolded part had me in stitches walahi! grin grin grin

I'll reiterate that the guys performance is -at best- average, given the little he's achieved in close to 8 years: in urban renewal; IGR; positioning cities like Onitsha, Awka and Nnewi to become world class centres of commerce and industry; leisure and tourism; environmental sanitation of the states major cities and making them green, clean and welcoming; inadequate utilisation of the River port; etc-etc-etc!

A major grievance of mine is the seeming lack of a well thought out tax/rates collection system for the entire state; and this is reflected in the states poor IGR from year to year; this is inspite of the fact Anambra is one of the states leading in cash transactions nationwide, which points to a robust business climate.
But make no mistake about it; people/businesses are paying up......it's just that most of the revenue collected is going into private pockets!

I'll score him high in rural and inter-community road construction; peace and security; supporting the state university and providing equipment in state run/owned primary/secondary schools; supporting and equipping the state owned teaching hospital; etc! And most of these high scores are based on what i hear/read about Anambra under Obi, since i've not been able to verify these assertions one way or the other.

I've noticed how recently he's been doling out cheques like it's going out of fashion; doing that at this 11th hour smacks of desperation and an attempt at damage limitation.......like he's only just woken up to the fact he's time is nearly up, and that there's not much (all things considered) to show for 8 years of governance in what is potentially one of the top 5 richest states in Nigeria!

I pray someone like Soludo decides to run and eventually emerges the winner in the next Anambra gubernatorial elections.
funny enough the soludo you are rooting for has a different view of the man he is supposed to take over from.

Am only happy that Ebonyi state govt is heavily investing in real infrastructure that will help the ppl on the long run.

Example of such projects are roads, water, bridges that connect the whole communities, agriculture and education as their paramount .

@goddex I don't knw the angle ur shooting from but always respect that name "Ezza " whenever you see it.No matter ur hatred for Ezza's they will always out smart you in all human end's.

Like i said if he is not comfortably in putting down good money in building a standard stadium as he also wasn't ready in putting down money for the airport project.....he shouldn't bother and should just leave it for the next governor that is taking over from him, instead of giving awka a playground in the name of a stadium.
yeah he should not bother that awka stadium.
