bashy_demy: Oga sorry Ngige is tested and trusted candidate that have rule that state for 3yrs and deleiver even more than peter obi 8yrs. if your selfishness and hatred wont make you see this its your cup of tea. No wonder your people keep running away since your region and state is not developed. Beside Ngige is still the Senator representing his district and have have that seat if Anambrarian decide to vote base on hatred but his people from his constituency will still support him no matter what.
the person you are quoting is(or was) actually a strong ngige supporter.check his previous posts at least 40 posts back.

Kei144: It is unfortunate that what Igbos understand as development is only building of conference centres, shoprite malls and roads. Could not Igbo state governments organise economic development conferences so that knowledgeable people could present developmental ideas that will transform Igboland?
organizing conference does not change anywhere...it is implementation of policies by an administration that matters.there has been up to 6 economic conferences on development of imo state right from 1999 till 2010.what came out of those conferences?and do not make this about tribe as apart from lagos what you wrote up there is applicable to every state.

bushwailo: Great potential !
But as long as you keep voting for MASSOB and voting governors because of what the Pope said
You will continue to wallow as in backwardness.

You can also vote for APGA governor,
A party incapable of running itself talkless of a state.

Most importantly such developments don't come to dull people.
All your people of quality are outside the state transforming other places.
senseless comment.what do you mean by voting for massob?is massob a political party?

pataki and plaindealer i registered on nairaland on nov 2008 after observing nairaland for like a year without commenting.one of the reason i registered was because of nonsense some yorubas were writing about igbos here.they would not have to start a thread starting with 'igbo.no it would start as foolish jabs and nonsensical comment on a normal harmless thread or story.maybe they saw it as jokes it sure was not funny to me.i would admit i got into some mudslinging then(my posts are still available on my profile)but i later stopped because i told myself it was fruitless.i guess some other igbo guys that registered decided to take it too far.

payless: They are not here yet because they are currently at drinking joints. You guys have bitten more than you can chew. You have woken up a sleeping elephant. What you guys don't know is that you have created more enemies for yourselves. Who are your friends in Nigeria between Hausas and Yorubas? You have more enemies in Nigeria and beyond than friends. Yorubas have helped you to get back on your feet since the end of civil war. Now you think you have arrived, you want to take over. You cannot bite the hands that feed you.
you think igbos started tribalism on nairaland?where you here in nairaland from 2005 when nairaland started?i guess not.i am sure too you were not here at the peak of 2007 and 2008.if only you can search back to topics then.most igbos would have felt that nairaland was some sort of fascist site against them.

Afam4eva: Do you mean Orlu people based in Orlu or elsewhere. There's a difference between Orlu people and Orlu town. Except you're saying that Orlu town of today is known for pharmaceuticals.
the life style of indigenes of towns and cities have a way of influencing general lifestyles of those towns and cities.i mentioned nnewi, another is owerri.what am i trying to say?there is no way orlu town can be non commercial when the indegenes of the town are heavily into commercial activities.it would always reflect on the town they came from.

Foreign AffairsRe: Sixty Years Ago, Most South Koreans Were Illiterate; Today.... by asha80(m): 12:15am On Aug 04, 2013
4 Play: Precisely what I said about tribalism being a rational choice for politicians. The problem with Zimbabwe is an 89 year old who does not want to give up power despite being in office since 1980. To distract people from his shortcomings, all he does is whip up sentiments, Africans are big on sentiment, about the country being engaged in a titanic battle with white imperialists and their agents.

Zimbabwe, like Namibia and South Africa, had higher than average literacy rates under White minority rule. These countries had a level of economic sophistication that most African countries don't have.
that means it is more of a mindset thing then?
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by asha80(m): 12:03am On Aug 04, 2013
Afam4eva: Owerri is very similar to Enugu but has more nightlife and oringo. But i will prefer for Owerri to focus more on being an educational town. As for Orlu, it should just be a residential town with minimal commercial activiity.
hehe orlu with less commercial activity?that is like saying you want nnewi to have less commercial activity.orlu people and environs dominate the pharmaceutical trading mafia in nigeria.just ask the igbo guys you know that deal on pharmaceuticals where they from and tell me what their reply is.

1soul: Project Title – CPG-Okija IPP
CPG obtained a generating license from
NERC in September 2012 to develop a
495MW power plant on 31.9Ha of land
owned by CPG. The company hired AF-
Consult Switzerland to be the Owner’s
Engineer for the project. AF-Consult
completed the conceptual design for the
plant in December 2012, and completed the
tender documents for EPC Selection in
March 2013. These documents are available
for interested EPC bidders to download
directly from this website, or from the
company's Lagos or Abuja offices.
The project is being developed in 3 phases.
The first phase, comprising of 495MW, will
become operational in 2015.
Phase 1: Construction of a gas fired
power plant in an Open Cycle Gas
Turbine (OCGT) configuration, with a
power output of approximately
495MW (at ISO conditions) by
September 2015.
Phase 2: Extension of the OCGT to a
combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)
configuration with a nominal power
capacity of approximately 750MW (at
ISO conditions), through the addition
of HRSG and steam turbines.
Phase 3: Installation of a second
CCGT with additional capacity of
750MW (at ISO conditions) to arrive
at a plant with a total output of
1500MW (at ISO conditions).
The entire 1500MW capacity is scheduled to
be completed by 2018.
Plant Location
The plant site1 is a 31.9 hectares of virgin
land wholly owned by CPG, and is situated
along the Onitsha–Owerri express road,
approximately 25km from the Oguta gas
fields, about 15km from Nnewi (one of
Nigeria’s major industrial and economic
centers), and 25km from Onitsha (another
major economic area).
The Project site is bordered on the East by
the Ulasi River and on the West by the
Onitsha-Owerri express road. It is important
to note that Hammakopp Consortium’s base
(the Nestoil Groups’ civil construction
subsidiary) is located directly opposite CPG-
Okija IPP’s site, on the other side of the
Owerri-Onitsha express road. This makes it
extremely easy for mobilization to the plant
site to perform site preparation and civil
works required for the Project.
Milestones Accomplished
Own 31.9 Ha of land specifically for
the CPG-Okija IPP.
Obtained a generating license for
CPG-Okija IPP.
Cleared by the Federal Ministry of
Environment.
Signed on AfDB as the lead financial
arranger for the project.
danm!never knew about this.atleast geometric is not tyhe only private power guys interested in the south east and the expected mega watts is quite high.

cooltone: Just came from owerri today, went for a traditional wedding at Ogwa. It was about eight months back that I visited Imo state last but I must confess that Okorocha is the man. I was lost in owerri, I couldn't realize or recognize places again. The place is totally transformed. I wonder those talking trash about Rochas here are blind. The worst of all is somebody comparing ohakim with Rochas. Light and darkness are not comparable
i really do not like the yardstick of using owerri to determine whether a government is working or not.owerri just has 3 out of 27 local governments in imo state.what about others?

Zimbabwe has the highest literacy rate in Africa
ermmm...does that mean literacy does not necessarily translate to development or economic wellbeing?

Chillypelly: It is Engr Chima Peter Nwaoha A.K.A. Chillypelly. Yes i did go round after my journey from Abuja. From the Airport i hit the now airport road approaching owerri and i can tell you Okorocha isnt doing badly. All the traffic flash point in owerri has been watered down into simple roundabouts with beautiful monuments to the delight of the road user. BUT to repeat myself i feel sad about the quality of these roads. I supervised a strategic road like the abuja-lokoja road section 2 ie the portion handled by RCC so i can tell quality when i see it. I have said on this forum that only the orlu road dualization passes my quality control test and i can only score the road 50%. The rest are below 20%.
ok noted....some just has to tell the governor that the roads he is buildind through those contractors are not up to standard.

1soul: A very good news for my evening, now let's hope Porthercourt seaport is given same priority as that of Lagos plus the Akwa Ibom port still under construction, and the one in Calabar.........plus the coming private power station 1500MW in Okija by Nextoil Boss. Bath Nnaji's plant would supply Aba and Umuahia industrial hub.

Regional Integration.....South-East taking off!
nestoil 1500mw of electric power station in okija?i have not heard of that.can you shed more light?
PoliticsRe: APGA Suspends Rochas Okorocha Of Imo State by asha80(m): 10:27pm On Aug 03, 2013
Chillypelly: I have listened to all the contributions with great understanding and my simple deduction is that the average Imolite crave for consistency. I drove round construction sites today and sincerely speaking the governor isnt doing badly. My first port of call was the 8 blocks of 16 floors Century Towers handled by koreans and i marvel at the job. The Eight blocks are all @the 2 floor of construction and i believe it will be the pride of every Imolite on completion. Other sites such as the ICC, 23 floors 5-star hotel in owerri, the 14 floors 4-star hotel in okigwe, the 5 floors event centre, the freedom park, the 27 100-bed general hospitals, the event centre in IBC and the 5 floors ISOPADEC HQ are all having a beehive of construction activities. Infact i was particularly touched to see 1 storey precast block of 12 classrooms in almost all the primary schools in Imo state standing for posterity to judge. I was told by a fellow Engineer on one of the sites that the contractor has delivered about 200 of them with the balance of 105 to come on stream by the first quarter of next year. This is good governance in action. My only problem and concerns has to do with quality control especially the roads. The road jobs are only handled by chalatans and its of great diservice to Imolites.
are you sure it is chillypelly that wrote this?some one must hijacked the handle lol....i guess from different people there are issues on the quality of the roads being delivered.

mikeansy: am not suprised

in 2011 I recognised his victory powered by his efforts in Philantropy but I always questioned his sophistication and I have been proven right

Executive office is not for everyone
i think all that is needed is for rochas to work effectively for imo populace and he would be retained.the average person in imo is not really interested in the party(though ohakim through pdp left a sour taste in the mouth of average imo populace).
PoliticsRe: APGA Suspends Rochas Okorocha Of Imo State by asha80(m): 6:34pm On Aug 03, 2013
Duru1: APGA should have expelled Rochas Okorocha from the party so that impeachment process will follow immediately.
impeachment based on what?
