My opinion: THIS IS SCANDALOUS!!!!
IF THIS GOVT CANNOT SECURE FACILITIES IN LAGOS FROM MILITANTS OPERATING FROM N/DELTA HOW CAN WE FEEL SECURE FROM EXTERNAL AGGRESSION. GOD.
MEND you guys have to watch your advances cos if it comes inland the effect will be devastating on the innocent N/Delta community in Lagos. I sincerly don't pray for a repeat of what has happened b4. What will happen to them? |

ilugunboy: Whether Atlas Cove Jetty belong to FG or the state government is totally irrelevant, the fact that they brought the attack to YORUBALAND is enough reason to start protecting yORUBALAND from these type of attacks going forward.
When the handshake starts getting pass the elbow, na kungfu be that. Oya gather all the egbe omo yoruba,OPC and yoruba warlords and start heading to bayelsa, rivers and delta . |

edwardd: Hi everybody from Yoruba Land, I think we need to get our very own Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) militant ready and equip them with every possible equipment, if possible missile and Nuclear bomb ready for them cause I think this crazy MEND and foolish MOSSAB people wants civil war. We need to let them know we are ready for them anytime any day. Once they attack us once will should retaliate 20 times, like if they kill 10 from us. The OPC go straight down to Niger-delta to kill 1000 people simple then they will stop this crazy and Unless attack on Yoruba Land. Those stupid retarded bastards are afraid of the North because they are aware th Northern people are ready for WAR anytime any second. THANK YOU Everyone and mess every one from Niger-Delta that support the attack in Lagos. Maybe we should start Killing Niger-Delta living in Lagos then see who will be the great Loser. one confused person. u cannot even differenciate the motives behind mend and motives behind massob. |

If indeed the solution you're offering is the way to go,why then is it taking Mr Yar'Adua so long to get it? ? because he is a stooge. |

The Presidential Steering Council on National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) yesterday appro-ved a total sum of N283 billion for the NIPP projects covering Federal Govern-ment’s projection of 6,000 megawatts by December 2009 and 10,000 megawatts by 2011. It also linked regular supply of power in the country to the success of the amnesty recently granted militants in the Niger Delta and the return of peace in the region. The sum of N1.9 billion was approved for the structure, staffing and budget to prosecute the NIPP secretariat which is domiciled in the Niger Delta Power Holding Company Nigeria (NDPHCN

Jairzinho: I mean this man just disgraces/degrades Nigeria everyday.
First the entire military might of he leads as C-in-C cannot take out MEND,then you chicken out by releasing the MEND leader without any conditions, the rebels thank you for the gesture by attacking your commercial nerve centre.
I think we need someone with BALLS to call Commander-in-Chief.
You are either using diplomacy and getting results or you're a fighting and getting results, this wimp is doing both and NOT getting results !!!
This is the reason I really fear for the future of Nigeria,if you can't take on MEND successfully (either diplomatically or otherwise) how can you address mammoth problems like Power generation,Corruption and unemployment, not to talk of ethnic tensions in the North,MASSOB in the East,OPC,Area boys in the West, the National Assembly,Global Credit Crises etc
And to show how shallow our intstitutions are, rather than let this man go in peace, some ******( censored) is saying he'll definitely contest 2011??
Are we under a spell or something?? You never see anything. |

presido1: Those of you shouting "Full Scale" war, who are you warring with if i may ask. Mend is just a group and not a country or a separatist nation. They only operate on Guerrilla formulae. No particular base or anchor point. They attack and disappear into thin air. Ymight be suprise that your close door neighbour in Kano, Lagos or Abuja is a member of Mend. They strike and he come back home and mingle with the society waiting for the next attack to be drawn up.ou Nothing like war that's why the FG is finding it difficult to contain them.
Why did FG ignore them for all this years, Keeping adamant and being arrogant can never help and i think it is too late now to go back to the discusion table which i doubt anything meaningful will come out of it. You dey mind them. |
Lmao. . . you should be glad that we hold the third equation in the federal arrangement. It means a lot. There is nothing for us to loot. The Federal govt distribute the allocations. We get what comes to us from the center. What comes to you is no different than what comes to us. Now, there could be mismanagement at the state level. . . thats a possibility. So your trouble need to be with your state legislators and governors. . . and not Yorubas. We don't accuse you of looting, do we? This is becaiuse we have a different way of governing in the West than you all do in the East. You see. . . this connects back to that approach I was talking about. You need to identify the problem and isolate it for solution. . . instead of agitating at a whole ethnic group as the source of your problem. What responsibility do you have towards your own evolution? Your evolution does not rest on the Yorubas. If however you are looking for fraternity from the Yorubas as a unity of force against the North. . . then first your approach must change. You are accusing Yorubas and escalating your grievance against them but yet. . . you are surprised at their refusal to budge in your defense. Look in your own action and approach.
There is nothing to loot . .Anyway u have made some salient points however as for looking for the fraternity with yorubas i do not believe it is ever going to happen especially with what happened in the past.As far as the the two ethnic groups see themselves as 'competitors' the north will always have a field day even if everyone in this two groups are havard trained. The problem is that igbos say things as they are no room for garnishing a fact which is what some people see as lack of diplomacy on their part.It is now left for other groups to digest the information igbos are giving them or worry about how the message was passed. |
Thank you for that feedback. Your problem is our problem. But your approach is yours alone, we will wash our hands off your aggressive approach to separation. Your people were the pacesetters immediately after independence and for about 5 years leading up to the war. Has any Igbo truthfully revisited to do root cause analysis on where you fell of the landscape of power? You owe that to yourself. I have said many times here that negotiation will put you back in power. It may not give you separation but it will definitely put you back in the circle of power. You see other tribes keep their mouth shut and say nothing untill they are in power to unfold their plans. Not the Igbos. . . you all hoot and holler about what you are going to do once you get there and how you will get Biafra by force. That's your approach and thats whats impeding your advancement into power. Let your smiles and silence precede you and then let your action follow once you are in. Some people call that deceitful. Well, siddon there and continue to be honest. Negotiate, . do not demand.
What plans looting the country u call ur own dry You think it is only the igbos are feeling yorubas are 'decietful'.Go and talk to the average niger deltan and hear what they say.All i am saying is that yorubas should be careful as the future beckons otherwise they will find themselves boxed into a corner where there so called sophistication apology olusola osineye will hold no water. |

Biafra and niger delta agitations would not have arising if nigeria was not structurally flawed.personally i will prefer nigeria remains one but under 100% federalism( us style) and regions with similarity(like south east or south west) or different groups agreeing to be under one region(peharps niger delta or akwaibom/crossreiver axis) forming those regions instead of the nonsense states we have at the moment. |
