believe me igbos would be the last to start another civil war if it is to happen. This time around we would be sitting very tight on the fence unless we are attacked.

However with the way things are going on the country i do not see this country lasting another 10 years .

Wondering why Ghana is succeeding where we are failing? see a list of those running the show.

John Kufour - Oxford economist

John atta-mills - British trained economist and professor and former Vice President

Nana Akuffo-Ado - British trained lawyer and Attorney General

Sam G Amoo - National Security Cor-ordinator, Retired Soldier, PhD holder from John Hopkins University, and former Diplomat.

While in Nigeria those running the show are
Umaru yar'adua - A chemistry teacher who is as unreactive as mecury

Mike Aondoakaa - An AGF who spent most of his life defending clients with cases of corruption

James Ibori - A king maker convicted twice in UK and once in Nigeria for the theft, fraud and shoplifting[/quote

Post 1970 Children in their infant babbles of maamaa daadaa! Ndipe, Kudo to you for at least saying there you weren't born then.

The people who participated in the war, will not be talking foolishness as much as the "kindergarten" babies we see litter this thread.

As much as I disagree with the conditions of Nigeria, as we speak, do the "proponents of Biafra" think that the Delta and other people in the greater Eastern Part of Nigeria, who do not consider themselves as Igbo of any kind, will bow to any barking orders from Enugu or which ever city is made the national capital?

If Nigeria as a nation can not "crush" the will of the Delta's Ogoja people, where the "Oil" is gotten, will Biafra crush them so quickly? I have news for you, don't think that the Ibiobios, the Efik, the Ogojas, the Ijaws, and other minorities will not seek seccession, in the same exact way and the time Biafra is seeking her own Independence. No people want to remain under a breakaway people, without wanting to be "independent", too.

The breakaway Biafra will be broken into smaller pieces, with many newer countries. Pakistan and Bangladesh are good examples, in the end after the old Pakistan broke away from the old mother India. The north may not remain as a unit, if the dream of Biafrans becomes a reality. The Hausa, and Gambari may not be able to stand each other. So could be the other smaller tribes wanting out from under Hausa!

I would not count on a Biafran state, coming out of Nigeria. Igbo people are not truly under oppression, if you consider the condition of the Ogojas. Afterall, the Oil is from their land.

huh huh huh This is the first time i am hearing the bolded part.

most nigerians see nigeria as an enterprise to make money from and not a ccountry to build and serve because there is no sense of nationhood amongst its people

Until you solve this mindset u cannot make anything work in nigeria.

So after the west brought Olisiego Obulusonjo and the north with Yaradull the igbos should now bring out a credible candidate to clean these people's mess right?NONSENSE.I say igbos should bring Orji Uzor Kalu no Igbos should bring Andy Uba to complete the cycle of madness.

Believe me nigeria is not going to move any forward.Ghana had Jerry rawlings to thank. Now in nigeria who would do the jerry rawlings style revolution?

I also thought kenya was everything you can think of as good in africa until their last election that threw up deep ethnic rivalry that exists their that many foreigners do not know.

Also these african countries you named i do not think they have a situation where muslim population is about 50% and control the political situation in their country like nigeria not even ghana.

In fact if u ask me nigerian situation is similar to the scenario in sudan. How? Largely feudal muslim north in control of the poltics with mineral rich south of made of largely animists(in nigeria christians).

The mechanism by which Europe created homogeinity in the past cannot be adopted today by most civilised societies. Europe is forging ahead today under the European Community directives, another vehicle of unity, with the hamonisation of most gevernmental and legislative procedures. African countries will have to find its own way to build nations and overcome the diversity of tribes and cultures
The EU you are talking about is made up countries who decided to come together on THEIR OWN TERMS AND NOT FORCED LIKE NIGERIAN SITUATION.Even the UK you are staying is not in EU.Likewise Norway.Yo do not force people with different ideology of life together.Even in your UK are you not hearing rumbles that scotland and wales want out of UK?

If these countries are homogeneous, what made them so?  Could it be because collectively they agree to subscribe to the same worldview, loosely defined?

Why has nearly 50 years of statehood not produced a sense of nationhood in Nigeria.  If homogeneity is vital for development why have Nigerians not forged a homogeneous identity.   Why is God standing by and not assisting in this goal?
You are asking what made them homogenous?Simple. The people that make up the countries you listed are from the same ethnic group.Any other person that says he or she is from that country but is not from that 'ethnic group' got assimilated into the dominant culture of that country.

You asked why has 50 years not forged a nation hood in nigeria? Good question.does the hausa man trust the yoruba man?Does the yoruba man trust the igbo man?Does the igbo man trust the ijaw man?

You also asked why nigeria has not forged a homogenous entity. Is a yoruba man willing to give up his culture and language for the hausa man and vice varsa?Same question for other ethnic groups for the other?Even as lingua franca of nigeria is english and peeps from south are much more readily to learn it and behave like the white man,are northern muslims interested in it?just chew on these facts.
