Are you serious? When did it urbanise to that level? The last time I was there scanty unplanned housing developments were ongoing around Uratta housing up to that power line. I think its called Amawire. Has the urbanisation passed there?

I've never reached the end of MCC/Uratta Road but from google it is about 12km and ends at Otamiri. I want to believe work will only be done on the urban length of about 4 km.

Great thread nwanna. Anambra its in a league of its own when compared to other states in Nigeria. Having travelled and lived in other regions both East, West and North I can confidently say what I've said. Adazi Nnukwu is representing wella.
Now, when some westerners erroneously assume that our saying that we want to visit our villages imply we want to go back to antiquity and abandoned lands, it is borne out of sheer ignorance. Many of them are only working with what holds sway in their own domain. This is what I mean. The settlement pattern between ndigbo and ndi-Yoruba is not the same. The settlement pattern among ndigbo is mainly of a villa kind with dispersed homes cascading in a well defined boundary. Just few of our communities had a compacted settlement that gives a sort of an urbane settlement. During my travels around Igboland, places I saw such closely knitted houses traditionally are in the Oratta(Owerri) area of Imo state and the Ika(Agbor)area of delta state. This is to say that compacted settlements among the majority of Ndigbo is a new thing. On coming to Yorubaland, the opposite is the case. Closely knitted houses which gave rise to an urban outlook was the norm. Most of their villages were isolated and thinly peopled and will always remain so because only few people hail from such places and with the recent rural-urban migration, they are the worst hit. Unlike in Igboland where villages are thickly populated and not in isolation but are tied to nearby patrilineally related villages to make up a community, those in Yorubaland are in isolation- each village to itself. As of today, a good number of those Igbo communities have taken the shape of townships with infrastructural improvements and social amenities in many of them. This is the reason why most Igbo people travel back home during the end of the year. Oh yes, some of them are still as primitive as of old but the houses therein are of the modern type. So when next you as an Igbo man tells your Yoruba friend that you are travelling to the village, understand why he thinks you are going back to obscurity.

4.5 km road at 1bn Hmm. That's a whooping N220m per km, even NDDC roads are nt that expensive.

Back to topic, Anambra is very close to both Enugu and Asaba airports. So an airport in Anambra today is far from being priority. There should be more urgent infrastructure like roads, power and more industries before an airport.

Enugu state is gradually returning to it's formal status, Since His Excellency Sullivan Iheanacho Chime the formal Governor of Enugu State handed over to this current Government on may last year. Since then, Some of the infrastructural amenities which he puted in place in Enugu state are now gradually decaying.. What is happening? With what am seeing now, i doubt whether this current Government will attract massive development in all parts of Nigeria just like the past regime of GEJ's Government did.. People are dieing everyday on Enugu Onitsha Expressway.. What effort have our senators representing south east made in order to reconstruct it ? Is it because they travel through airways that can make them not to present a proposal for senate commitee on works to look into the reconstruction of that road? You see the reason why i vowed longtime a go not to remember our polticians in my daily prayers? They are getting richer everday why their subjects whom are praying for them on daily basis are getting poorer.. What a world? My Loved ones, our Nigerian leaders can never save us, it is only God almighty that wil always be with us even when the price per a litre of fuel is 1,000. So let us commite our economy into the hands of God and not our leaders because they have no plans for us. What a shame! A country were millions of it's citizens are unemployed. Let me ask you, that your certificate, did you attended school for it to be inside your box after graduation? Yet you stil pray for them while their children are enjoying them selves outside Nigeria. you are here still praying for them abi? Ok keep praying for them.. Do you know the funniest thing? They are preparing their children to come and lead you people in years to come yet you stil pray for them. Keep praying..
